Susanmillers Blog

My life as a heterosexual crossdresser.

A long and exciting week comes to an end, time to relax with friends.

Wow what an exciting awesome week. I was so ready to spend some times with my friends. For those of you who have followed my blog you have probably already read that the verdict came back on the discrimination complaint about our being kicked out of a club for being transgender and we won, the state agreed that we were discriminated and our rights were violated under the Oregon equal rights law. It has been a long 14 months and although we won it is not over as we are sure and actually looking forward to Chris Penner the bar owner appealing this ruling. This was an administrative Judge ruling which is good but an appeals Judge ruling or even the state Supreme Court ruling would be better. Here is a link to story.

Well as we always go out on Friday nights I had that to look forward to but tonight 3 of us were meeting early as Cassandra had been contacted by a couple of the local TV stations for interviews. Now as I was working I could not make the first one but did the second one. We were meeting at 5 in downtown Portland so I was both excited and scared at the same time as this is an important issue that I really felt we needed to be said but it also would mean being interviewed on the local TV station. It was nice that we got there a little early and had a chance to talk before and calm down.

Finally our wait was over and the TV van pulled up. The reporter and camera guy came in, the Reporters name was Erica Nochlin. She talked to us for a bit off camera and really helped put us at ease telling us to just look and talk with her and not to think about the camera which really helped. They were there for almost an hour and talked to each of us for about 5 minutes on camera for what turns out to be about a minute of time on the TV news, here is the video if you want to check it out. What an awesome night so far and it would only get better as we had the rest of the night with our friends.

Well we were off to join up with the rest of our friends and have a relaxing Friday night out and I am sure some celebrating. What a wonderful way to end the week. Chris and Roxy were already there when Cassandra, Cristine and I arrived. We even had a new girl named Reesa show up. She just moved back to Portland and found out about the group from the news. It was nice to meet her and she seems really nice so we all look forward to getting to know her better. Well more of our group showed up Kim, Jan, Lyn, Michelle, Stacy, Lorraine and Robin. Robin had moved away from Portland maybe a year or two ago but has now moved back so we look forward to seeing her out again more. It was good to talk with her and catch up.

Well you can guess what the number one topic of conversation was tonight. There really was an extra bit of excitement and joy in the air tonight. Rachel & Heather, Danielle & Kelly were also there and they were awesome, such wonderful friends. The group Met Rachel at the P-Club and she was so awesome and is why we know about and come here now as she had talked to the owner about us and he invited us to his bar. It really is like one big family here. We really have met so many wonderful people here and they have made our group feel at home.

Well the group played pool and sang karaoke and just had a wonderful time. At 10 pm Paul the owner shut down Karaoke long enough to watch Cassandra’s interview with KPTV and then he bought our group a shot of something that tasted like Banana cream pie. How great was that. It was back to Karaoke and of course Kim, Chris and Lynn all sang and did great as always. At 11 he did the same thing and turned on KATU for the interview with Cassandra, Cristine and me, this was the first time we had seen the interview and it is a little strange to be watching yourself on TV in a bar full of people but everyone at the bar was supportive of us and told us we did great. Later Rachel, Heather, Danielle, Kelly and Lorraine sang either don’t stop believing or we are the champions or maybe both for our group, how cool was that. What wonderful friends we have.

Later on Jan put in to sing Girls just want to have fun and Jan, Lynn, Cassandra and I all got up and sang, yes I can get up and sing with other people just not by myself but who knows now that I have been on TV for the second time I can work up the courage to sing well we will see. It really was in incredible night. It was almost 2 am and Cassandra and I were the last two from our group when I left, Cassandra was still there playing pool but I am sure she didn’t stay much longer as they would be closing soon. What a wonderful night

Awesome Wednesday night meeting with our Attorney

Well it has been an awesome afternoon and evening. It started about 4 when Cassandra sent out a text that the Judge had issued his decision in our case against the P-Club and Chris Penner for discriminating against our group by kicking us out of his club. Our Attorney Sue-Del McCulloch wanted to meet with us at Fox & Hound tonight and tell us what she could. Now I had not planned on going out tonight but there was no way I was going to miss this. I actually started getting ready as soon as I got the text.

I got to Fox & Hound by 6:15 and Cassandra, Chris, Kim and Victoria were already there. I guess we were all excited to hear what Sue-Del had to say even though she wouldn’t be here till 7:30 to 8 pm. Well it wasn’t long and Kelly, Christine, Mellissa and Sarah showed up. Actually tonight was Sarah’s first night out with the group as she just joined our group a couple days ago. It was awesome to meet her and such an exciting night to be out. Petra, Jan, Lynn and a few others even showed up, I think we had maybe 15 of us there by 7.

We were all waiting for Sue-Del and we knew it was good news as she had told Cassandra that much. Well Sue-Del showed up about 8 and we all couldn’t wait. Now she couldn’t go into a lot of details as the Judge’s decision won’t be made public till Friday 8-30-2013 when it is released to the media which is also the reason this blog will be posted a little later than normal. It is kind of symbolic that the judge released his decision on our discrimination suit on the 50 year anniversary of the walk on Washington and the day Martin Luther King Jr. gave his speech “I have a dream”. Any way Sue-Del told us that the Judge supported found that Chris Penner had in fact discriminated against us and violated our rights under state law.

We are all thrilled with the verdict and actually very surprised at how fast all this has happened. I can remember when we sat together at the Rainbow room on July 11 2012 (thank god for my blog) and talked about if we should go and meet with Beth Allen our first attorney. She had seen the YouTube video Cassandra had posted of Chris Penner telling us not to come back because we were transgender. Here we are a little over 13 months later with a ruling in our favor. I think most of us thought it would take a year or so just to investigate and then a year or more to work its way through the system. Beth Allen started our case but as she was appointed to be a Judge in February she got us in touch with Sue-Del who agreed to take over our case and we as a group were truly blessed to have had two such incredible, supportive attorneys to help us we can never thank them enough.

Now we all realize that this is not over as Chris Penner will almost for sure appeal the decision and we all expected this and in a way I think in a way we are excited about him appealing it. We look at it this way, several years back I think in 2007 the state of Oregon past a law protecting transgender people from discrimination. Actually the law basically says that transgender people have the rights of the gender they present as. Now we all know that laws can be passed but it can always be challenged in court. Well this law has and it stood up which is great for all transgender people and not just in Oregon as many States and cities have passed similar laws and now there has been a Judge that upheld it. Now this was an administrative hearing and Judge so having it go on to the State appeals court and getting them to support the law and uphold transgender rights would be huge. We really have a long road ahead and I think it will be at least 2 to 5 more years to go through the appeals process. The best thing is that this will send a message to all businesses that if they do discriminate against Transgender people they will be held accountable and will face huge legal action.

I am truly proud to be a part of this and such a wonderful group here in Oregon. There were 13 of us that were able to step up and make a stand and many more in our group that for one reason or another were unable to but were always there supporting us, it truly was a team effort and I hope all of the members are proud of this wonderful group or should I say family of people.

I really want to Thank the following people and let them know how much they have helped us and what an impact they have made on our lives and all transgender people.

Beth Allen our first Attorney

Sue-Del McCulough our current attorney

Brad Avakian the commissioner of BOLI

Chet Nakada the hearing presenter for BOLI

Jen also a hearing presenter from BOLI

You all are awesome people.

Couple more links Here is an video interview and story.

Well Friday night I will once again be out with my friends and we will be celebrating so it will be an awesome night. I am really looking forward to it as I am sure many others in our group will be as it will be our first chance to talk after this is made public and release to the media. None of us know what the future holds for us but I know for me this experience will be one of the highlights of my life.

Fun Friday night out as Susan

Well it has been another busy week for my male side; I was busy every single night this week which left no side for anything fun or any Susan time. I was looking back over my blog and it has been almost 3 months since I have been able to go to Starbucks for a little quiet time, I think I will have to make an effort to fit that in soon. I think this has been my busiest summer so far, hopefully things should start to slow down soon though I hope. Even tonight I got home late so it was a rush to get ready; it was 6 pm before I climbed into the shower to start my transformation. I usually try to leave my house by 6:45 which I knew I would not make tonight.

Well I did rush on getting ready which does take some of the fun out of it but still enjoyed it. I did try a different way of doing my eye makeup tonight and that always takes a little longer but I think it turned out pretty well it was a Smokey eye look with more dark colors than I normally wear. Well things went well and I was ready to leave by 7 so I guess I am getting better at getting Susan ready, luckily I can make it to Sweet Home in 15 minutes usually so I wouldn’t be that late.

I got to Sweet Home and Chris, Amy, Laura and Cassandra were already there. It wasn’t long and Cristine, Bobby and Petra showed up. Yes we had a smaller turnout tonight but still so much fun. I got to talk with Petra for a bit and I am planning on going to a Luau tomorrow night as Victoria Sinclair hosts a monthly social event and for the first time Susan is available to go. It should be a lot of fun. Victoria has a business doing transformations for transgender and also has a small bed and breakfast and storage area and salon where she will teach people how to do makeup, a really cool business and sounds so fun. I have never used her service but know many who have and they have all been very happy. If you are every in the Portland area and looking for help please check her out at Over the Rainbow Transformations. Not sure what I have to wear to a Luau though.

It was a fun night at Sweet Home and of course we all played pool. I played against Cassandra; I lost but came close to winning and made some really good shots. I think my pool game has improved over the last few years. Even the Karaoke group was a little smaller but still a good crowd for a Friday night. It really is fun to come here and mingle with the other customers and they all seem to treat us so nice.

There was a girl at the next table who reminds us of an actress from our favorite show the Big Bang Theory yes Chris and I both love that show, and so we both had to get a picture with her, turns out her name is Laura. She was really awesome about it. It was funny as she had herd Chris and I talking about her resemblance to Mayim Bialik the actress who plays Amy Farrah Fowler on Big Bang Theory. Turns out she is also the actress who played TV’s Blossom in the 90′ TV show.

Well Karaoke started and as there were not many people there tonight who wanted to sing which meant the rotations went quicker. Now I still have not worked up the courage to sing by myself although I did think about it tonight, I think if I do sing it would have to be on a slow night. I think I would be more willing to sing a duet with someone else as I would not be up there by myself. Go figure I am worried about what people think about how I sing or dance but could care less about the fact I am out as Susan.

Well later on Laura the girl Chris and I got pictures with came over and talked with me and asked if she could get a picture with me as I had got one with her, well you all know how Susan feels about pictures and cameras so I was only too happy to. This was cool as I got to ask her if I could post the picture of us as I always like to get permission first before I post a picture.

It was a fun night as always but soon it got late. Cassandra was tired and she must have been really tired as she left by midnight which is really early for her. In the end it was just Cristine, Bobby and me left. We stayed for a while more till their ride came so I was going to leave the same time but Danielle from the Karaoke group was up next to sing and she is really good and I love the song she was singing so I stayed long enough to hear the song.

I went up to pay my bill and got to talk with Paul the owner for a bit, he has been tending bar on Friday nights since Levi left. He is really nice and always treats our group awesome. Well as we were talking he told me he really appreciated our groups business and our coming in Friday nights. How awesome is that, I mean it is one thing to be treated well but actually be told that he values our business. How cool would it be if every business had this attitude? It was just a fund night out.

Well now I have to think what I will wear to the Luau tomorrow and what I will bring as it is pot luck. It will be fun though and I am looking forward to it. Hopefully I will get lots of new pictures to post.

Also for those who are interested in Diva Las Vegas they have set the dates for 2014, Sunday March 30 2014 through Friday April 4 2014 so mark your calendars. It is such a fun vacation please check out their web page at Diva Las Vegas if you even think you might be interested and be sure and sign up for their announcement list.

Thanks for reading and have a great weekend.

Rose City T-girls go golfing again

Well the group went golfing again today. We went about a month ago to Wildwood golf course
(21881 NW St. Helens Road, Portland Oregon 97231) and had such a fun time and were treated so awesome we decided to go again today. We had 12 of our group agree to go and this time we played a 4 person scramble. What that means is it is best ball in your group so you all tee off sand then whoever gets the best hit you all drop there and hit again and so on. This is a really fun way to play and it makes it more even and even those not really good or who have never played can join in and have fun.

The teams were team 1 Amy, Laura, Jackie & Victoria, Team 2 Melissa, Julie, Veronica and Susan and Team 3 Petra, Dan, Bianca & Cassandra, I had hoped to be there around 10:45 but as Susan always takes longer getting ready it was about 11 when I got there which still left me time to warm up. I ran into Jackie and Amy in the parking lot so we walked up together to the club house to check in. the staff just like last time were awesome and were glad to see us back again, I guess some businesses really do care about their customers.

Well we got a couple buckets of balls and went up to the driving range to warm up which is always good as none of us have really played that much as woman and it is amazing how much long nails and breast effect ones swing. I had some really good hits so I decided to go over to the putting green and practice there for a bit too. By now the rest of the girls had shown up and we were just waiting for our tee time. It wasn’t as hot today but was a little more humid which is a girl’s enemy as sweating with makeup on is never fun. I am sure by the end of the day I won’t be looking as fresh and nice as I do at the start so we are going to get our pictures out early.

Well the first team got off the tee and it was time for and it was time for some pictures. This is my group, Veronica, Julie, Melissa and me, Melissa’s skirt and my Capri’s were almost the same color but I think her skirt was just a little cuter.

Well we all got off the tee with good shots. Now in a scramble you have to use one drive from every player on both the front nine and the back nine that way it is not just the best player doing everything.

Well our team got off to a good start paring the first 3 holes and then two birdie holes. We actually finished the front nine 4 under par and never got anything other than a par or a birdie. We actually made it to the 9th hole and still hadn’t used my drive so we had to use my drive on this hole no matter where I hit it. Well mine wasn’t the best shot of our group but wasn’t bad. we all dropped where I had hit it and I put my second shot on the green about 20 feet from the hole and that turned out to be the best second shot so we used that shot and all putted from there and I went last and sunk the put for a birdie, what a great way to end the front 9.

The drink cart lady came around and she is awesome also and so much fun, we all got pictures with her and as I was wearing flats she will have to get some high heels for the next time as I towered over her but she was so nice to take pictures with us. Her name is Ashley and just like everyone who works here just supper nice.

The back 9 proved more challenging as we shot even par with 1 birdie and 1 bogie. We felt we were doing well but till the end when you compare scores you really don’t know. My game well drives fell apart on hole 14. Of the tee I could not hit the ball if my life had depended on it. I actually lost 5 balls today and all of them on the last 5 holes; thank god we were playing a scramble. The funny thing is off the fairway I could hit my wood perfect but put me on a tee and well it was embracing. I did have some really good chip shots and Melissa hit 3 25 plus foot puts in a row to give us a par or our 1 birdie on the back 9. Actually all of us had good shots that helped us and kept us going so it truly was a team effort.

Well we got back to the club house and it turns out the team I was on won. We shot a 68, 4 under par (thank god for our great front 9). Victoria, Laura, Jackie & Amy finished 2nd with a 71, 1 under par and 3rd place went to Dan, Bianca, Petra & Cassandra, not sure their final score but it was over par. It was a really fun day.

Now the golf course will do a BBQ for groups of 10 or more for a very reasonable price so we did this also. It was really well done and Ashley was there helping the guy who was doing the BBQ, Melissa got her to take a few group pictures and she was telling us about their glow ball golfing where you golf after dark with glow in the dark balls so several of us are going to do that next month as we think that will be a lot of fun. The one bad point is we had 5 KP (closest to the pin) on all the par 3’s, who ever got on the green and closest to the cup won. Well with 12 players and 5 par 3’s that 60 chances to win and in all that only 3 of the group hit the greens and one of them was the same so we only had 2 winners of the KP. I think it was Laura and Petra; Petra also won the longest drive.

The food was great and the staff once again did such a great job, the day was great and the food was awesome and everyone was so nice and friendly. The course was in great condition and such a pretty place to play what a great golf course to go to. I would highly recommend this golf course to everyone.

Fun Friday night with friends

Well it has been a long week, for that matter it has been a busy summer so far this year but I was going out with my friends tonight so all was good. It seems the last few months have been really busy and my Susan time has been limited, I have been only getting out about once a week instead of my twice which although sad is okay. Susan is a part of me and she needs to be able to get out and express herself but even if it is only once a week it is okay.

I have said it before but there really is a need for a crossdresser or transgender person to be able to express that part of them on a regular basis. For me I find if I can’t or go long periods without that part of my life I tend to start thinking about it more and more and when can I dress and it makes it hard to concentrate on other things like work. I also find that at night when I try to go to sleep my thoughts go to Susan and wanting to dress and then it is hard to clear my mind to sleep which make it harder to sleep and get good quality sleep. It is funny as I sleep the best the nights I have gone out as Susan as it makes me so relaxed and calm. I guess this is my way of saying Susan is a big part of me and she will never go away.

Well I started getting ready early as I have said I enjoy the whole part of Susan including the getting ready. I took a little longer than normal as I wanted to look perfect, well as perfect as in could. I spent extra times on my lips as I love red lipstick which is probably the hardest to get to look perfect. Now normally I line my lips just outside my lip line but I was reading online that with red lipstick you shouldn’t do that so tonight I stayed inside which made my lips just a little narrower but I really do think they looked better and it must have worked as I got 4 compliments on how good my lips looked so I will have to remember that trick.

Well I got to Sweet Home and Amy, Cassandra, Laura, Melissa, Cristine & Bobby were already there, actually they were pretty busy for as early as it was. Now Levi is gone as he got a new job which he love by the way so Paul the owner was tending bar now on Friday nights. Now he is awesome also as I have talked to him many times over the last year we have been going here so it is not like we have to get to know someone new. He even remembered most of our names which was nice.

Well we ordered dinner and talked and some played pool, it was Melissa’s night for pool as she won almost every game she played, I say almost as she did lose twice and once was to me. Now I have to describe this shot I had 2 balls left and she only had 1 and her one ball was kind of blocking my other one on the one end of the table and yes the cue ball was here too. All 3 of these balls were within 6 inches of the one corner. Now I might have been able to make the ball but if I missed she would have had an easy shot on her ball and the 8 ball to win so I decided to shoot at my other ball which was at the opposite end of the table right up against the rail in the middle of the two pockets almost impossible to cut but if I missed she would not have a shot on her ball so that is how I went. I had to just barley cut my ball to get it to slide down the rail and had to hit it hard enough to get it to the pocket. Well I did just that, I just nicked the ball and it slid right down the rail about 12 inches and into the pocket, just perfect. Now the really cool part and something I had not even thought about was as hard as I hit it the cue ball came back on almost the same path and tapped my other ball in the opposite corner pocket, yes I made both balls in one shot. I think I could set that same shot up 1,000 times and not make it, where was the video camera when you need it.

Well it got later and the karaoke guy showed up and people started to sing. Lorraine also showed up which was awesome as we have known her for several years, we actually met her at the P-Club when we were allowed to go there. Just for an update the owner of the P-Club is still trying to sell it and we have not heard anything on our complaint against the P-Club. Actually we all figured it would be the end of August at the earliest before we got a ruling from the Judge which is fast approaching. We also figure if the Judge rules in our favor that the owner will appeal so we all figure it will be several years before we have a final ruling. It was great to see Loraine again and talk with her.

The Karaoke group was all there which is always fun as we get along great with them; actually we get along with pretty much all the customers that come here. It is just a really friendly neighborhood bar. Well Melissa got out her phone and took some pictures this is Cassandra, Melissa and me. Veronica and Jan even showed up.

Several of us are golfing again in the morning at Wild Wood Golf course. They were so awesome the last time we went there and when Cassandra called to make tee times again they were excited we were coming back. It is great to see businesses that treat everyone the same. Well we are planning on being at the golf course by 11 which in itself is not that early but then again for us there is a lot to do. I will need to leave my house by 10 or shortly after to be there on time. This means I need to start getting ready by 8:30 so I have to be up early in the morning so it will not be a late night tonight. Yes we all are doing our makeup to go golfing we are such girly girls.

Well it was a fun night. We had a blast and several of the regulars came over and talked with us. What a great way to start a weekend. It was about 12:20 when we left so we could all get our beauty sleep for golf on Saturday. Thanks for reading and I hope you all have a great weekend also.

August night out with the girls at Harvey’s Comedy club

Well it has been a busy couple weeks for my male self with vacations at work so Susan has stayed locked up for a while, this is actually my first day off in almost two weeks so I was really looking forward to a girls night out.

I can normally get ready in an hour or so but today I wanted to enjoy the time I had so I started off with a nice warm bath that turned out to be s long one as I fell asleep for a while but it felt so relaxing. I also spent extra time doing my makeup and getting reedy a little over an hour nod then to pick out just the right dress, well that was not that hard as I wore my favorite maroon dress and of course my 4″ heels as I figured my feet could take it as it has been two week since I last wore heels.

Well I was ready a little before 6 and on my way, I got downtown and parked by 6:40 and walked to Fox & Hound. Laura, Jan and Cristine were already there. I ordered a drink and a snack as I wanted to eat later at Harvey’s as they have been so wonderful to our group I think it is fair to spend some money there. Petra showed up for dinner with us even though she couldn’t go to Harvey’s. Melissa, Julie, Trixy, Barb and Mikaela also showed up soon and we all sat and talked for a while as we waited the time to leave and walk to Harvey’s. after a little while I moved to the other end of the table so I could talk more with Julie, Trixy and Mikaela. It was great to see Julie and Trixy as it has been a while since they have been out.

I also got to talk with Mikaela as she broke up with her girlfriend a few weeks back and I wanted to see how she was doing. Well it turns out she has already met a new girl and even told her about Mikaela and she is fine with it, actually she is going to meet Mikaela for the first time tonight as she is going to meet us at Harvey’s. Mikaela has shown her pictures but this will be the first time in person plus she will get to meet all of us too. Very cool.

Well as always time goes quick and soon it was 8:30 and time to walk over to Harvey’s. it was a nice warm evening so it was a very enjoyable walk, we even stopped a couple times so Mikaela could get some pictures of herself out walking in downtown Portland.

We got to Harvey’s and got our tickets we had 13 of us for tonight’s show. We then went in and sat in the lounge to wait for the early show to end. Well of course Camera’s came out and pictures were taken. This is Mikaela, Me and Melissa before the show. Well as we waited Lynn, Queeny and Victoria showed up so now we were just waiting for Mikaela’s new girlfriend. Well she showed up and she seemed really nice and was not at all bothered by us which was really nice, she introduced herself to all of us her name is Meryl. I think it will be easier for us to remember her name then for her to remember all our names and match them to a face as there were 13 of us.

Well it was time for the show to start so we all went in, we were in no hurry as we come once a month and we always let our favorite waitress Kim know how many we have and she always sets up tables for us which is awesome of her. We sat down at the tables and Melissa, Mikaela, Meryl and I all shared a table. It was nice as we got to talk before the show and get to know her a little better.

Well the show started and as always the comedian’s were awesome both the opening and the headliner. Again I can’t remember the opening comedian and they don’t show that on the web page but the headliner was Ian Bagg and he was awesome. He would engage the audience with questions and then have jokes about what they said which must be hard to come up with stuff that fast but I really think that makes for a better show as it is fresh and relevant to the area and people there. We all laughed so hard it was just a really fun night and of course went by so fast.

After the show we all walked back to Fox & Hound for a bit, I was glad when we got there as my feet were really feeling the pain of walking so far in such high heels but then what is important is how you look right at least that is what I always tell myself. We sat for a while and talked but than one by one we called it a night I think Julie, Trixy and Melissa were the only ones left and I think they were going to CC Slaughters to dance a little. It was just such a fun night and I am already looking forward to next month.

Thanks for reading and I hope you all have a great day.

Levi’s last night as bar tender at Sweet Home

Well it has been another long week and as always I was so looking forward to Friday night and spending time with my friends. I actually got off work a little early today which is always nice as I don’t have to rush to get ready plus I actually took a short nap well actually I fell asleep on the couch, hope that is not a sign of my getting older. I woke up a little over an hour later at 4:30 and headed upstairs for a nice bath which I don’t do very often but they are really relaxing. I was hoping to be too Sweet Home earlier than 7 tonight so I was done with my bath by 5 and started getting Susan ready with the hope of being all done by 6 which I should be able to do. Everything was going as I planed and at 6:05 I was in my car pulling out of my drive.

I got to Sweet Home by 6:25 and went in to find Chris already there; I think he comes straight from work so he probably gets here about 6. He was watching some You Tube videos on his computer and some of them were pretty funny. The special looked really good BBQ ribs and corn on the cob which I love but I also knew that it would be messy to eat so I chose something else as I didn’t want to risk messing up my makeup or getting BBQ sauce under my beautiful nails, yes a girl hast to make sacrifices.

There was already a pretty good crowd for this early as I think a lot of people came out for Levi’s last night. For those of you who have never been to Sweet Home Levi is the head bar tender there but he recently got another job and so he will be leaving are happy little family here. He really is wonderful as he has made us all feel welcome here from the first night we showed up. He adds that personal touch to his job which is awesome and actually every one there does the same. Paul the owner has a wonderful staff and they all make you feel like you are part of their family including Paul who is there on most Friday nights and always talks with his customers. There was a TV show many years ago called Cheers and this bar feels just like that TV show, here is a couple lines from the theme song to the show. Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name, and they’re always glad you came. You wanna be where you can see; our troubles are all the same you wanna be where everybody knows your name. We will miss him but he promises to stop in and see everyone.

Well it wasn’t long and more of our group started to show up, I was hoping we would have a good turnout tonight. Kim, Laura, Roxy, Crsitine, Bobby, Victoria, Cassie, Jan, Lynn, Samantha, Queeny, Petra and Lorraine showed up. It was good to see Samantha and Queeny again as they don’t get out as much with the group. Hope I didn’t miss anyone. Paul the owner will be filling in on Friday nights for a while I guess till he can find a replacement so tonight he was there almost the whole night and working behind the bar.

I got a chance to talk with Lorraine for a bit it was good to see her out again. She couldn’t stay late though. It was just a fun night and it was busy I think a lot of people came in to see Levi on his last night. Kim, Roxy, Victoria and I talked for a while which is always fun. I think Susan enjoys the whole social aspect of being out. It is not really what we are doing or where we go but the friends I am with that make the night so special. I hope they all know how special they all are to me.

Well the Karaoke group also had a good showing I would guess they had upwards of 30 in their group here tonight and so when Karaoke started there was a long list of people to sing. Laura, Chris, Kim, Lynn and Queeny all got up and sang but with so many people there to sine they only got to sing a couple songs but they all did awesome. Well it got late and was time for Kim to leave so I walked her out to her car to say goodnight. It is always sad to see Kim leave.

I got back inside and it was still packed but as several of our group had left we could mostly fit around just the one table now. Laura was the big pool winner tonight as she played many games. Well Samantha and Queen left and it wasn’t long before they were back as they needed a jump to get their car going so Lynn went out and tried to jump start their car but no luck so they had to call a tow truck so they got to stay a little longer. Not a great way to end an evening. I think a lot of us think about that when we are out. It is one thing to call a tow truck or a friend when you are out but when you are dressed it adds a hole nother level to the problem. This is one of the greatest things about cell phones and why I think everyone should have one.

Well Ed showed up for a bi, he actually met our group through Kim so he stopped by for a beer unfortunately Kim had left about 30 minutes earlier so we invited him to sit with us and I introduced him to Jan and Lynn and Laura. We talked for about 20 minutes, he actually just stopped in for a beer but it was still good to see him and I hope he knows he is always welcome to join us on Friday night.

Well it was after 1 when the last of us Jan, Lynn, Laura and I left. It was a wonderful evening and of course I forgot to get a picture with Levi well hopefully the next time he comes in as a customer I can get a picture with him and maybe our group. It was a fun night and always sad to see it come to an end.

With that I would like to thank Levi for all he has done and the way he has treated us over the past year, you are more than a bar tender you are a friend. The same goes for the rest of the staff here. Jodi the other bar tender who for the first several times I met her here on her nights off made us feel just as welcome and we thought she was just a customer. Even Paul the owner has sat down with us on slower night and talked with us and got to know us. It is just a great friendly neighbor hood bar that accepts everyone. We all wish Levi the best in his new job.

Thanks for reading
