Saturday night dinner on the Portland Spirit

It is Saturday and our group is doing our Holiday dinner cruise on the Portland Spirit, I have been looking forward to this for a couple months. But before I get into todays adventure an update on our Mexican Cruise. I made my Airline reservations this week, I am on the same flights as Cassandra and Peggy and Kate, Julie and Trixie are going to book their flights this week. We are all planning on flying together and yes, I am going to do the whole trip as Susan including flying and Kate, Cassandra and Julie are also planning on flying as Susan. Okay back to today. Julie texted me this morning to find out what I was wearing, something only woman do. Anyway, I had my outfit all picked out, my red and black dress so I went back through the photos on my phone to find a picture of the dress to text her when I saw another dress I had worn so I went to the closet to look at that dress and soon I had 5 dresses out. What went wrong. Anyway, after a little while I changed my mined and went with my black dress with silver flecks in it. Now I was going to pick Julie up and we were going together as it is one less car to park.

I started getting ready about 3:30 as I wanted to take my time getting ready. It still amazes me how much time I am willing to put in to getting Susan ready. It was about 5:15 when I was ready and on my way to Julies house. I got there about 5:45 and Julie was already. We were soon on our way with lots of time as we can’t board the Portland Spirit till 6:30. Well it was lucky as there was so much traffic, it was almost like rush hour during the week. It was good we left early. We got downtown Portland right at 6:30 and luck would have it we found a parking spot right on Front Avenue right across the street from where we board. Now it was clod out so I wore my wrap but wearing a dress and of course open toed heels, really all that got cold were my toes. now there was a lot of people already there but we saw Peggy, Cassandra, Kate, Tobi, Jeanie and Amy so we went and joined them. Now as you board the ship that take a picture of your group.

Now it was time to board and you go down a long metal ramp at about a 40-degree angle Probably shouldn’t have worn 3″ heels, not as easy in heels although I didn’t have the highest heels. That honor went to Peggy, she had the cutest high heels. We got to the bottom and then had to go up a small ramp into the ship and then up the stairs to the upper floor where we had our tables. Now Nicole, Barb, Bambi, Kris, Barb, Joan, Laura, Max, Sophie, Melissa and her wife and I am sure I am missing someone. We had a really big group, 19 but with such a big group we were at 2 different tables and being crowded it was hard to talk with everyone but I at least got a chance to say high to everyone. Now I got to sit right next to the window which was great for the view but made it hard to talk with people other then right next to me and also hard to get out and move around. Now Peggy and Julie were just to my right and Kate and Tobi across from me and of course I had to get one selfie.

Now there were lots of pictures taken tonight it was so awesome. Now this is a new event for our group going on the Portland Spirit and I really like these events. It is nice to go someplace we have never gone before. The staff on board was wonderful and treated us awesome. Now there was a lot of people on the ship and several of the groups on the ship were doing Christmas parties. It was a really fun time on the ship. Now it was cold so I didn’t go up on deck although thinking now I probably should have.

Our waitress was awesome she took our orders and was checking on us all the time to see if we needed anything. The service was incredible and the food was wonderful. I had the Beef Tenderloin and it was so good. Several of the girls had the Salmon and that also looked wonderful. Now the dinner cruise was $70 but included dinner and desert and of course the cruise. It was a wonderful deal. It was a wonderful cruise and the lights of the city as they went by were beautiful. Now I am wondering what it would be like to do the cruise in the summer when it is still light out. We cruised up the Willamette river for about an hour before turning around and going back down. I am now really looking forward to our Mexican Cruise next October.

Now after dinner came desert and the dinner came with a brownie which looked good but they also had Pumpkin cheesecake. I love Cheesecake and I love Pumpkin pie so of course I had to have the Pumpkin Cheesecake. Peggy got the Eggnog Cheesecake and Julie got the Peppermint Cheesecake. This worked out wonderful as we all shared so we could taste each. They were all wonderful but I think the Pumpkin was the best.

It was great to see Nicole again she made it down this weekend to go out with us. She is also going on the Mexican cruise with us next October. We have 29 going so far so it will be a wonderful cruise. I had to get a picture with Nicole. I still remember the first time I met her when I was shopping. I would have liked to talk with her more. Maybe one of these times we will have to get together earlier, maybe a shopping trip.

After dinner we all got together for a group picture, while we were setting it up we had several people offer to take the picture for us, how wonderful was that. It took us about 5 minutes maybe more to get all set up for the pictures. It is such a wonderful picture of our group. I love to have pictures and be able to look back on events in my life and things I have done and the friends I have spent time with. This is why I started my blog all those years ago. Now I am not saying everyone should do a blog but you really should have some pictures and at least write down a little about what you did and who you were with as it is part of your life and a part of who you are.

Now while we were taking the picture a lady came over and started talking with Kate and me, her name was Kristin She was awesome and so nice. Of course, I had to get a picture with her. I also took a picture of her and Kate, I really like meeting people when I am out. It really was a magical night. Now we talked about going someplace after the cruise but it was almost 10 when we got back to the dock and left the ship. By the way going up the ramp from the ship in heels was way easier as it was almost like walking flat footed. We decided to call it a night. We all walked back towards where we parked and of course my toes once again got cold. It really was a shame to see the night come to an end but the memories will last a lifetime.

Thanks for reading and be sure to keep up with my latest adventures.

Out on a Thursday night for dinner

Thursday night out, Cassandra texted me to see if I wanted to meet her for dinner at the second avenue sports bar (ne old Fox & Hounds). I decided to go have dinner with her. We were going to meet at 6 and after dinner go to Embers for a little while as tonight is the last night open as they are being shut down. I got all ready and got downtown just before 6 traffic was horrible tonight do to the Blazer game. Cassandra was already there on her computer. It was good to be out again.

We talked a little about the group and up coming events and also about the changes here at the old Fox & Hounds. The new owner Erin is really nice and she has really cleaned things up and made it look new, added a couple more pool tables. It really is nice. We ordered dinner and it was really good. Now I am not saying Fox & Hounds was bad as I really liked it and we always had a nice time there but things change and sometimes change is good. It is a nice place and I would recommend the Second Avenue Sports bar check them out 217 NW 2nd Ave, Portland, OR 97209. It was a really nice time. It was a little after 7 when we decided to go over to Embers for their last night.

We got over there and they were really busy, it took us a little while to find a parking spot a couple blocks away. We got to Embers and there was a line to get in, we ran into David who use to work here when we came here. Now we have not been to Embers in probably 7 years, I think the last time we were here was the summer of 2010. We had a disagreement with the owner and we found another place called the P-club and well that didn’t work out either but because of it we started going more places and that was a good thing as we have grown so much as a group. Now although we haven’t gone here in years it still does have a special place in my heart. Embers was the first place I really ever went out, I had actually gone here 3 times sat in my car for an hour and then left, the 4th time I was getting ready to leave when another t-girl walked by and tapped on my car window and asked if I was going in and I did her name was Lori and she was the first person I had ever met that was transgender. That night really changed my life as for the first time I felt I wasn’t the only one like this. This is also where I met Alice, my first real friend in the transgender community. She would e-mail me when she came to Portland and I would go meet her at Embers. I so looked forward to when she came to town as at this point I would not go out by myself and it took all I could do to walk into Embers even knowing she would be there. Alice doesn’t get out any more but I still think of her and how she helped me start going out. This is a picture of us from a long time ago.

Embers was the first place I went and that does make it sad that it closed, so many of our girls in the group this was where they got their start. We all have some fond memories from here and although we haven’t gone here for a while it is still kind of like home. I think that is why Cassandra and I and I am sure all the people who came here tonight are here. It is like going back to the home you grew up in.

We really did have some wonderful times here, it was every Friday night and sometimes on Saturday night, some of the girls came here Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. It was a safe place we could go and be ourselves even if we weren’t sure who we were at that point.

This is where I met Cassandra for the first time probably in 2007 and found out about the Rose City T-girls group she had. It was a great idea but I was still nervous and didn’t join till early 2008 but that was the best thing I did as I got to know more of the girls and that is where I really started to become the lady I am now with the help of my friends. Cassandra is one of my best friends now and knows almost as much about my male self as my female self. As a matter of fact, several of the girls in the group know almost as much about my male self as my female self.

Embers is where I met Jan & Lynn, Tereasa, Peggy, Barb, Rachael, Penelope and so many others and I am still friends with them today. This is a picture of Rachael, me, Penelope and Cassandra, we met them here at Embers and just hit it off. It is funny as we took so many pictures back then but that was also 3 computers ago and I am sure I have all the pictures just not sure where to find them. We came here for New Years a couple times, here is a picture from that, what cute hats we all have on.

I think we will all miss it as Embers really did shape our lives some and who we are. Below are a few more pictures I found from Embers all those years ago. I created my blog as a way to document my life and time as Susan and it is nice at times like this I can go back and remember some of the things I have done and the people I have met. Now I am not saying you should all do a blog but you should have some pictures and some notes to look back on what you did and the people who you met and had an impact on your life. We only stayed here till about 9:30 as I had to get up early in the morning. On the way out, we talked with David more and also ran into Jim. He use to come out with us all the time at Embers but when our group left and went else where we lost touch with him. It was great to see him again. It was a good night but a little sad.

Thanks for reading and keep up with me on my most recent blog.

Wednesday night dinner

Wednesday is here and I am going out to dinner with my friends tonight. I am really looking forward to it. I am not sure who all will be there but I am hoping Amy will make it. She moved to Seattle a few years ago and doesn’t get down here very often and I usually miss her so it has been a couple years since I saw her last. She is in town working and hoping to make it tonight. I really have met some wonderful people over the years. I started getting ready at 4:30 enjoying every minute getting ready. WE are going to Mothers Bistro downtown Portland.

I got downtown and found a parking spot 4 blocks away. It was a little cold out but dry and the walk to the restaurant was nice, it is so nice to be able to just be out as Susan and do everything other woman do. I got to Mothers Bistro and went in. I was the first one here and as I didn’t know how many were coming so I just waited. It was only about 5 minutes and Melissa and yes Amy walked in. It was so great to see her again, here is a picture of us, it been so long. Well the three of us went in and got a table and sat and talked as we waited for Cassandras and Julie.

It was just the five of us but we waited a little while to order as we thought one otgher girl might show up for her first time out. We had a nice time just talking and being a smaller group we could alll talk together. We talked about our Cruise to Mexico next October, Cassandrfa booked her flight so the rest of us our going to book ours. Melisssa, myself, Julie and Cassandra are now all planning on flying down as our female self whch will be so much fun and a new experience. Something I have alaways wanted to do. Just think a few years back it took all I could do just to get out of the car, now I have traveled to Las Vegas, checking in and out of hotgels as Susan and by this time next year I will be able to say I flew on an airplane as Susan.

Well the other girls didn’t show up so around 7:30 we all ordered our dinner and yes our waiter was awesome. He remebered a Julie and Cassandra from the last time gthe group came her although it was my first time. Now I ordered the chicken and it was really good, they have really good food here and the price is not bad for what you get. I would recommend Mothers Bistro for a nice dinner out. We also talked about Diva Las Vegas which the dates are now official, it will be Sunday April 15 to Friday April 20 2018. They will start talking registrations after the 1st of the year so sign up for their mailing if you are thinking of going. It will be so much fun, there is so much to do in Las Vegas. I am trying to talk Amy into going next year as I think she would have fun.

These gatherings are so much fun and I now Amy likes it, she always wantged us to go more places and it is funny not long after she moved we started going to new places. Of course she pretty much goes where ever she wants as Amy where she lives. She also like all of us have grown so much as our female selves. It really is great to have such wonderful friends.

A couple of the girls ordered dessert and I was good and passed although Juile talked me into having a bite of hers well more than one bite. I really do need to start watching what I eat as I do want to lose some weight by our cruise next October. WE had a freally lovely evening and we took some pictures, our wonderful waiter even came over and took a picture of our group so we could all be in it. We even got one oof gthe waitresses to join us in the picture, she was also wonderful also. We really were treated great here.

It was about 9:30 when we left, tghey actually closed at 9 but didn’t rush us out. There were a couple other small groups still there so we were not the last to leave. Now Amy took an uber here and as her hotel was on my way home I offered to drive herf back which was nice as it gave us a chance to talk a little longer. It was sad to see the night end but I had so much fun with everyone.

Thanks for reading and keep up with whats going on in my life on my most recent blog.

Wonderful Wednesday night dinner.

It is Wednesday and we are doing our Wednesday night dinner at Rock Bottom Brewpub in downtown Portland. We have gone here a few times although this is only my second time but I was looking forward to it. A night out with my friends. I got home and started getting ready and I had time so I got to enjoy the experience. It was so relaxing, I chose my red dress as it is one of my warmer dresses and it is a little cold out tonight. I was already by 6:15 and was getting ready to leave when Julie texted me to see if I was going and if so she could ride with me. I told her yes and was on my way. I got to her house and she was ready to go and we were on our way. It was nice to have Julie along as we were able to talk on the way.

WE got downtown a little after 7 and parked in the parking garage a block away and walked to the Rock Bottom. Cassandra and Rebecca were already there, Rebecca comes to town every once in a while, to join us for dinner. It was good to see her. Now it was just the 4 of us tonight but still really fun and we were able to talk. Now our waiter was wonderful, he treated us great and always referred to us as ladies and kept checking back on us. We ordered dinner and I had the Chicken Fried Chicken which was awesome. The food here is really good.

WE had a nice time and talked about all kinds of things, our dinner cruise we are going on next month, our Mexican cruise next October which I am really looking forward to and also Diva Las Vegas. We have been talking a lot about Diva Las Vegas lately, some of the girls were thinking of renting a house for the week verses staying in a hotel. There are good points about both but I still think staying at a hotel casino is just more fun and convenient. Cassandra, Julie and I are all going so we talked and decided we wanted to stay in a casino. Now the resorts on the strip are really nice but they are so big and spread out and they are so expensive now after all we are going for 9 nights. Last year we stayed downtown at the California which was really nice and we had a lot of fun. This year they started charging resort fees, not as much as the strip hotels casinos. I just find it hard to pay a fee just to stay there and you really get nothing for the fee. Sorry got side tracked there. Any way we were looking around on line and we found the Four Queens hotel casino doesn’t charge the fees so we looked at it some more and it looks like they have nice rooms. Well we decided we would try them this year.

It was a nice night and a wonderful dinner. We stayed till a little after 10 before we called it a night. We all left and said our goodbyes. Julie and I walked back to the car and I drove her home and we continued talking. It was a really nice evening with wonderful friends. It was a little after 11 when I got home.

Well Cassandra, Julie and I have all booked rooms at Four Queens for Diva Las Vegas.

Wednesday night dinner with friends at Hobo’s

It is Wednesday and our group is going to Hobo’s for dinner. Actually, Cassandra is getting there early to watch game two of the world series. Now I knew I couldn’t make it by 5 but I was going to get there as early as I could. I started getting ready at 4:30, I love the time I spend doing my makeup and getting all pretty. I just find it so relaxing and enjoyable. I was all ready and on my way downtown. I found a parking spot right around the corner, it was just 6 pm so I did make it here early.

Cassandra was already at Hobo’s with her computer and watching the world series. She is a big LA Dodgers fan so she is really into the game. My team didn’t make it and I like both teams that are playing so I am more interested in having a good series, I hope it goes all 7 games. Cassandra and I talked some as we watched, it was so nice to be out again. Now we were at a table for 4 and it was kind of busy so when the two tables on te other side of the hall opened up we moved over there so we would have enough seats. I actually started talking to the people who were leaving, the reason it was so busy was they do the underground city tours from here and they were all here for that. According to them it is a haunted tour and that sounds like a lot of fun. It was nice to just talk to someone I have never met before.

Kearren was the first to show up followed by Rebecca, Samantha who is one of our newer members and this is her first time out with the group, Julie was next and last was Joan so we had 6 of us here tonight. Now I got to sit between Cassandra and Samantha so I got a chance to talk with her tonight and get to know her which was really nice. She seems nice and I think she will really like being in our group. I hope she gets to join us out more.

It was nice to sit and talk with everyone, similar to our dinner Saturday night where we were able to talk with each other. Of course, we were still watching the baseball game, some more than others. Now we all ordered dinner and I chose the Prime Rib as I haven’t had that in a while. We also talked with the owner for a little about Hobo’s, he has owned it for 25 years. Our food came and it was wonderful. It was just a fun night out with girlfriends.

After dinner we sat and talked and watched the world series and we all got into the game, it was probably one of the best baseball games I have seen. The Astros tied it in the 9th inning and took a 2-run lead in the top of the 10th only to let the Dodgers tie it in the bottom of the 10th. Than in the 11th they took another 2-run lead only to give up 1 run in the bottom of the 11th and for a moment it looked like the Dodgers would tie it again but they didn’t. The Astros won and tied the series and everyone at Hobo’s was into the game. It was a really fun night. Of course, this meant I stayed out latter than I planned and also, I ordered dessert.

It was a fun night and of course we also talked about Saturday night and our groups Halloween Party Peggy and Cassandra are hosting again, they are so wonderful to do this for the group. I still haven’t looked for a costume and probably should have done tonight instead of coming out for dinner but I wanted to spend time with my friends. I will probably go with one of my old costumes as I am not sure I will have time to go look for one in the next day or two.

It was a wonderful night and I think it was after 10 when we called it a night.

Thanks for reading and keep up with me at my most recent blog.

Saturday night dinner out but first Starbuck’s

Okay it is Saturday and Julie; Kate and I are going to Dinner at Noble Rot in downtown Portland. I have never been there, well actually never even heard of it so I am looking forward to it. Julie made reservations for 3 this morning and let us know. I will pick her up between 6 & 6:15 and we will be on our way. Now I had some things I had to take care of today and I actually got done early so what is a girl to do. I decided to start getting ready a little before 3 and by 4 I was already makeup done and looking at my dress for tonight. I decided I just didn’t want to sit at home so I put on my yoga pants and a sweater top and decided to go to Starbucks for a while. Now I know my makeup is a little much for Starbuck’s but I don’t want to have to redo it before going out tonight. At least I didn’t wear the dress and heels to Starbuck’s although I am sure I would have turned some heads. Now while I was finishing getting ready I got a couple messages from a couple of our girls asking where we were going tonight so I was texting back and forth for a while to see if we could add to our reservation which Julie was able to do even though the restaurant is booked up tonight so Karen and Melissa will be joining us.

I got to Starbuck’s and went in, they are not busy which surprised me I figured on a rainy windy day what better place to go then Starbuck’s. The young man at the counter remembered me by name which always makes me feel wonderful. Even the girl who made my drink remembered me, a nice warm cup of hot chocolate which is wonderful on a day like this. It is nice to go places like this where they remember you and treat you well. Now I was at my table on my computer chatting with Karen on Facebook and texting Julie and Melissa to get everything arranged and see if Julie could add them which she was able to do, Thanks Julie for doing that and for making the reservations in the first place. Once that was done I started working on this blog which I will finish tomorrow and also caught up on some e-mails and work. I really do enjoy coming to Starbucks as Susan to do my work, so much better than sitting at home. Now I won’t stay here as long as I planned as I will have to go home and change and also charge up my phone before going out tonight. I left Starbuck’s at 5:30 and went home and changed into my dress and heels and touched up my makeup which actually held up really well. I was on my way to Julie’s by 5:45

I got to Julies and went in, she had just finished getting ready so we chatted for a few minutes before we were on our way. It was a rainy and windy night so I was glad I didn’t make the drive to Salem. Now Julie has eaten here before but I have never even heard of the place so Julie told me how to get there, we got lucky and found a parking spot right on Burnside by the restaurant, I didn’t know how lucky we were. I put my big wrap on in the car not easy to do and it covers up my pretty dress. We got out of the car and we only had to cross the side walk. I parked right in front of the door. The restaurant is on the 4th floor so we took the elevator up. It was 7 so we were just a little early but our table was ready even though they were really busy. July and I sat down and waited for the others to show up, Melissa was first followed by Karen and Kate so we were all here. Now the restaurant is dark inside I guess for the more romantic look but the bad part you really couldn’t see my dress inside either. Kind of a letdown as I really wanted to be noticed in my dress as it was really cute. The booth sat 6 with 3 on each side which was wonderful as with the small group we had we could talk with everyone. Somehow, we got on the topic of cell phones and the cameras and taking selfie’s in low light which I really do think the Samsung take the best pictures in low light. Any way I gave Karen my tip on taking a selfie. I can’t hold the phone out and push the button and get a good picture so I set the timer to 5 seconds, that way I can push the button and then hold the phone out to get the picture I want and there is still time for the camera to focus. This is a picture taken of me in the low light with no flash and remember we had to use the candles on the table to read the menus.

Our waitress came over, her name was Harmony and she was awesome, she took our drink orders and told us about their specials tonight and was just really pleasant. We got our drinks and ordered our food and then kept talking. It was so nice to be able to be in the conversations with everyone. I don’t want to sound like I want to exclude people but it was nice to have a small intimate group. One it is more like the people around us as they were all groups of 4 to 6 accept for one large group in the back. It allowed us to sit with everyone else instead of being at the big table in the back. It was just more of a normal outing. I don’t think I thought once about us being t-girls, we were just ladies out for a nice dinner. It was a great feeling

Our dinner came and it was wonderful, we all had different items and everyone loved what they had. Now the prices are above average but the food was wonderful and so was the atmosphere and the view as the booths sat by the window overlooking the city which would have been a wonderful view had it not been so dark, rainy and windy. Harmony our waitress was attentive to us and checked back on us often to see how we were doing and if we needed anything. It really was a nice dinner and I would highly recommend this place but call for reservations and try to keep your group to 4 to 6 and you will have a wonderful time.

We had a great evening and talked about so many things including of course the real important topics of the day, makeup and heels. It is amazing how fast the night went by, after dinner we had desert and that was also wonderful although I probably should cut out the deserts. I really want to lose some weight by our cruise next year so I am going to have to make some changes to my diet. We also talked about our nails which we all love. Melissa brought up an interesting thing about nails which I had never thought about. We all love having pretty long nails and she said it was the reason we can see them. Here I am all dressed up in a pretty dress, full makeup, heels and hair but I can’t see it unless I look in the mirror, our nails are in front of us and we can see them all the time and that is the feminine part we see the most. Kate was going to take a group picture of us at the table but Harmony came over and took it so we could all be in it, we didn’t even have to ask her she just offered. This is our group after dinner at Noble Rot. Kate, Melissa, Susan, Keren, & Julie. What a wonderful pretty group of ladies.

As I said it went by so fast and soon it was 10 pm and we called it a night. It was truly a wonderful night. The 5 of us and 2 men road down in the elevator together and we talked with each other including the men about dinner. It was just a normal evening out with friends. I really like going to these mainstream places where we can interact with other people. Anyone around us would see we were no different from them other than our dress. We came in, sat, had dinner and normal conversation. We weren’t loud, obnoxious or drawing attention to ourselves and that I think is a wonderful thing. We all dressed like all the other woman here and just blended in although I am sure they knew we were a little different. It was a great night and thanks to my friends for having dinner together and a big thanks to Julie who set it all up.

It was still rainy and windy outside when we left so I was glad we parked right outside the door. Julie and I talked more on the drive back to her house. It was just a fun girl’s night out. I dropped off Julie and drove home. It was about 11:30 when I got home.

Thanks for reading, link to my most recent blog so you can see what I am up to now.

Relaxing Friday night out with friends

It is Friday night and yes, I am getting back into my routine of going out and I am loving it. I so missed it the last few months when I was not able to get out. Susan is a big part of me, not all of me but a big part and I am not complete without her. Any way Julie and I talked and we are going out to the Crush Bar again for dinner and conversation, I posted in our group and so we are hopeful maybe a few others will show up. We said we would be there by 7 so our plan is I will pick Julie up at 6:30 and we will ride over together as it really is not out of my way to pick her up and parking can be bad by Crush as it is a residential neighborhood, plus it is just more fun to go together.

Now I started getting ready just before 5 so it would be another rush getting ready as I wanted to leave by 6. Funny as my male self, I can roll out of bed, shower shave, brush my teeth and all the other things and be dressed and out the door in 20 minutes and any longer then that I wonder what went wrong. As Susan I figure an hour to an hour in a half and when I get ready in less than an hour I feel like something is wrong. Any way it is such an enjoyable time doing my makeup and getting ready. It was just before 6 when I was ready to go. Down to my garage, into my car and I was on my way. It is funny as I always use to look out my windows to see if anyone was out and make sure it was clear, now I just go.

I got to Julie’s about 6:15 and she had left the door unlocked for me so I just went in. Julie was almost ready so it was only a couple minutes and we were ready to leave, this is the one thing I would thing woman would love about dating a T-girl. We really know how long it takes to get ready, you would never hear us complaining about how long you take. We were on our way before 6:30 and we got to the Crush about 6:45 and we were lucky to find a parking spot only a block away this time. Now it was a cool and rainy evening although not raining right now. I chose to carry my sweater so people could see my dress, I am not a fan of coats as it covers up your pretty outfits so I only wear them when I must. It is funny I love the summer because I can go out and not have to coverup my outfits and everyone can see them but a few years ago I hated the summer and loved the winter as it got dark earlier, a few years back during the summer I wouldn’t even think about leaving my house till after 10 PM when it was dark and no one could see me, things have changed.

Now there was a good crowd here and we couldn’t find a table. Seems the back room was set up for a burlesque show so they weren’t letting anyone in there yet so everyone who came early for that was in the small front room. Julie and I did find a place to sit on the couch in the corner which was low to the floor and you sank into it so it was hard to sit like a lady with your knees higher then you but especially with heels on. Kate showed up shortly after we got there so she joined us. In a way it was nice as it gave us a chance to talk with the other people sitting around us. Julie started talking with a guy next to her and it turns out she is a t-girl also and had painted her nails. Her name is Renee and she is just starting out and is nervous about going out. Well this gave us a good chance to talk with her about our group the Rose city t-girls. She was amazed about our group and how many members we have and how often we go out. I am hopeful she will join as she seems really nice and I think she would benefit from the group and having people she can go out with and know where we will be so she is not going out by herself. I know that was the hardest part when I started. I did not want to be out by myself as Susan you know the safety in numbers thing. After a little while one of the tables opened and Julie could get to it before others took it so we had a place to sit and eat.

About this time Cassandra showed up, she had said she might make it, we also invited Renee to join us so the 5 of us sat around a table made for 4 and had a wonderful time. We ordered dinner and had enjoyable conversation. We talked about some of our upcoming events including our dinner cruise in December and our Mexican Crouse next October. Cassandra says we have 16 cabins booked now under our group and she has a few more that are really thinking of going. It would be so fun if we could have 30 or more t-girls on this cruise. We have probably 26 or more signed up now but some are wife’s girlfriend’s or significant others going. Our group really does do some wonderful things and we get so use to it being the normal thing that we really don’t recognize how lucky we are till we start telling someone new about what we do.

The show finally started and people moved back into that room and there was finally room to move around where we were. This is a nice palace and very friendly but the one drawback is it is small and busy on the weekends. Still worth coming here if you are looking for a safe friendly place to go. Another one of our group showed up so we had 5 of us from our group which was nice as this was kind of a last-minute choice. Julie and I knew we were going out but we didn’t pick Crush till Wednesday and announce it to the group till Thursday afternoon. Julie and I were the last to leave and again it was after 10:30 when we left, so much for just a dinner out but that is okay as it was a wonderful evening with great friends.

Saturday night Cassandra and some of the girls are going down to Salem to hang out with some of our members down there and it is a fun place to go but this week I just can’t as it is over an hour drive each way and with the weather and the fact I can’t stay out to late Saturday night I just want to stay someplace local. Julie and I are going to go out to dinner and I think Kate is going to join us. WE left it up to Julie to pick and make reservations and I am just going to pick her up and drive. Works out well for both of us. It will be a fun night just being out as Susan with Julie and Kate. Having great friends, I can go out with and be myself is so wonderful. I truly am a lucky girl to have found such awesome friends. Now next weekend is our big Halloween party and I still have not found time to go out and look for a costume so I may end up using one of my old costumes but either way it will just be the fact I am with my friends.

Thanks for reading and have a great day and a Happy Halloween next weekend.

Wednesday night dinner at Who Song & Larry

It is Wednesday night and I am going to dinner with my friends at Who Song & Larry’s. This is always a fun dinner place as the people here are awesome. Now dinner is at 7 but I know Cassandra is going to get there at 6 to watch the Baseball playoffs before dinner so that is my goal also. I started getting ready a little after 4 as I wanted to take my time and enjoy the experience of getting all pretty. I took my time on my makeup and actually tried 3 different dresses before I picked the one I wore, my blue with black on the sides. I also went with my dark brown wig tonight. Here is a picture in the car. I was on my way looking forward to a fun night.

I got to Who Song & Larry’s just before 6 and went in, Funny how I don’t even think about getting out of the car. Years ago, I use to sit in the car to build up the courage, now Susan is just a part of my life. And yes, Susan is a big part of my life and a big part of who I am. Cassandra was sitting at the barf watching the game so I joined her, it was nice to be out. We talked as we watched the game and waited for others to show up. Of course, we had some of their fresh made tortilla chips and bean dip. It is so good, I could make a meal out of just that and I almost did.

Melissa and her wife were the next to show up and they both noticed my hair, I don’t wear it that often wear it as I am not sure of dark hair on me but it does feel nice to have people notice when you change your hair. I guess in that way I am such a girl. Yes, I do love to look pretty. Kearren was the next to show up followed by Barb. I really love these dinners out with my friends.

It was a little after 7 when we went to our table and yes Cassandra could still watch the game across the room. I sat next to Melissa and her wife and across from Cassandra, Barb and Kearran. It is nice to have these smaller more intimate groups. Julie showed up and sat next to me. It was great to see her and of course I had to show her my nails as we both love getting our nails done. So yes, I am going to talk about my nails. N ow when I got my nails done Saturday Cathy put a light pink color on them and I was worried about them and I didn’t really come across as liking it when she did it. Now indoors the nails have a nice healthy color to it although you can tell there is polish on them. Outside in the sun they have a slight pale pink color and yes if you get a good look at them you can tell as you can see from the pictures in my last blog. The other day though I was out side in the sun and walked into the shade and wow my nails had a pinkish violate color that was really noticeable as you can see from this picture. These are the same nails one in shade and one in sun light. The funny thing is I really love this polish

and look on my nails. I wish I had paid attention to the polish she used as I want to get it the next time.

I know people will notice and probably already have but no one has said a thing. In a way I am a little disappointed but also glad at the same time. My nails really do look awesome. These are pictures of same nails one outside in shade and one inside, wow what a difference. It is funny how far I have come. Now I know some of my friends keep telling me I really want to transition and no I do not. I have no desire to be a woman full time but I do believe the two sides of me can be a part of me all the time. At the very least I am sure it will raise some questions but I do love nice looking nails. What do you think of my nails, is it too much for me as a male?

Well back to our dinner out. Our waitress came over, her name is Venessa and she was awesome, she made a point of learning all our names and called us by them all night and she had the nicest southern accent, she is from North Carolina. We all ordered dinner well I ordered from the appetizer menu as I really did eat to many chips earlier. We had a wonderful dinner and enjoyable conversation. It was a little after 8 when Bambi and Kris showed up so they ordered dinner as we were finishing but it was great they made it. So, we had 9 of us here tonight.

After dinner we just sat and talked for a while. Barb and Kearren were the first to leave and then Melissa and her wife. I was having too much fun just being out with friends that even though I had to get up early for work I stayed. Venessa a=our waitress came over a few times and talked with us. She really was wonderful and made us feel so welcome. She actually has a friend who dresses so I gave her one of my cards with my e-mail on it and told her to give it to her friend if she wanted to join our group. Also gave her one for her as Cassandra invited them to her Halloween party. I really hope she contacts me as it would be great if they came to the party.

It was after 10 when we called it a night. Julie and I are going out both Friday and Saturday night. I am looking forward to going out again this weekend. Thanks for reading

Saturday night dinner with friends at Henry’s

It is Saturday and our group the Rose City T-girls are getting together for dinner at Henry’s Tavern in downtown Portland. It is a wonderful way to spend an evening and can have friendly conversation so I was really looking forward to it as I have not gotten out much the last few months. Our reservation was 7:15 but I knew Peggy and Cassandra were planning on being there by 6:30 so that was my goal also. I started getting ready about 4:30. I also had some new lipstick I was looking to try. I have tried the Mauve before and it seems to work really well but tonight I wanted to try the red. The Mauve stayed on really well just a slight wear on the inside of the lip, the one thing I don’t like about this lipstick is it does take a while to dry but it stays on really well, even olive oil and soap didn’t take it off. I had to use baby oil. But tonight, was the red. I was done with my makeup and getting dressed by 5:45 and I noticed my neighbors across the street were all out in the street playing basketball with their 3 kids and some friends. I am not sure if they know about me yet. By the time I was dressed and ready to leave it was just the husband and his friend standing by the street talking. It was time to leave so pulled out of the garage and left not really looking at them.

I got downtown just before 6 and I knew it would be pure luck to find parking on the street so I just went to the parking garage as it is only a block away. I was almost to Henry’s when Cassandra and Peggy came around the corner, Peggy got out while Cassandra went to park so we walked in together. It was great to see Peggy again, I have really enjoy talking with her and by the way she had beautiful long red nails tonight. We went into the bar and got a couple tables as we waited for Cassandra and others to show up.

Laura and Max were the first to arrive followed by Kate, Melissa and her wife, Karen, Kearren, and Julie. It was great to see all of them and have a nice group for dinner. We had about 45 minutes to talk as we waited for our table which was nice. Our table was finally ready and we all walked through the crowd to our table. I sat between Peggy and Julie and Max & Laura were right across from me. It was about 7:30 when Cassi showed up so we had 12 in all.

Now I had to decide on dinner and I narrowed it down to a steak or their mac & cheese with chicken both of which are wonderful. With no way to decide I did the only thing I could. I checked out the dessert menu to see if I would be having dessert, of course I knew the answer before I looked. With my dessert picked out I went with the mac and cheese as I figured that wouldn’t be as much to eat.

Now we sat around and talked for a while as we waited for our food. Some of the conversation was on our Cruise next year which we are looking forward to and as 7 of us here tonight are already booked it seemed like a good topic. We also talked about our dinner and Harvey’s Comedy club which has opened again. We always went to Harvey’s the first Saturday of the month for years and it was fun, when they closed in early summer we started doing a nice dinner on that night and we have dinners scheduled through the first of the year so I think in February we will look at it and I think we will try to get Harvey’s back in the rotation. I think we are liking going to places other than just bars, now there is nothing wrong with going to a bar but our group has gone to bars for almost 10 years at least once or twice a week and early on that was really the only place we would go several times a week. I think we are enjoying expanding our world plus I think it is good to go places where we can interact with more people. One reason I am really looking forward to our Cruise. Our dinner in November I will not be able to make but I am looking forward to our December dinner, we are doing a dinner cruise on the Portland Spirit. This is something I have always wanted to do and I am going to get to do it as Susan. Cassandra got us a group rate so it really is not that bad. $70 per person includes dinner, non-alcohol drinks, 2 ½ hour cruise and tip. We have 14 signed up now, we need 15 to get that rate but I think we can get one more as we have two months. Cassandra does have to put up a $500 nonrefundable deposit so hopefully everyone shows up.

Our group is really active and we have done some really fun things over the years. If you are in Portland (or come here on a regular basis check out our group and join, you will be glad you did but even if you don’t join you can always join us when we go out just contact us. Now we did get some good pictures tonight. This is how my makeup turned out tonight.

The food was wonderful as always yes our group has come here several times over the years and always had a great time and been treated wonderful. After dinner it was time for dessert and I ordered the Mud Pie brownie Sunday, well a half of one. Peggy said she would have a bight or two so I figured a half would be big enough. Wow it was huge, two big pieces of Brownie in a big pile of ice cream. Even with Peggy having a few bites I couldn’t finish it all. Julie got the same and shared hers with Melissa and her wife. A tip if you come here which you should, share a dessert, the half is enough for two. Peggy and Cassandra were the first to leave as they had to get up early tomorrow which I totally understand. Karen also left it was good to see her but I wish I could have talked with her more.

The rest of us stayed a little later talking and yes Peggy and Cassandra are doing a Halloween party again this year, they have such great parties and Peggy puts so much work into decorating for it. I am going but not sure what I will do for a costume. I have been so busy with other things in my life that Susan couldn’t get out and now I am not sure I have time to find a costume. I may just recycle one of my old costumes or just maybe go without a costume this year. Will have to see. Here are some of the years past 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2009. We are all looking forward to it.

Okay I also have to post a picture of Julie and me as she said I could. I never post pictures of other people without their permission, I think that is just a good rule and I respect their choices just as I would want them to respect mine. I am not even sure when we left but I am guessing it was after 10. I got to the parking garage and there was a young lady there who was lost, you see this parking garage is huge and covers several blocks underground. She asked me if I knew where the entrance was by whole food and I really don’t know down town very well but I showed her the pay station where you can push a button and talk with someone in hopes they could help her. That is always a fear I have of going someplace and then not remembering where I parked.

I got home and washed my makeup off well at least everything but the lipstick as that did not come off and looked just as good as when I put it on accept on the inner parts of my lips. In the morning I got up and had breakfast and then used some baby oil to take it off well almost. Seems the red sticks a little better especially on the lip line and just outside the lip line. I was a little worried now as I had used 2 cotton balls soaked with baby oil and it still looked like I had lip liner on. My next step was a shower and I used a washcloth with a lot of soap and muscle power, yes I exfoliated my lips to the max but I got it all off. My lips are the softest they have ever been. I will say this lipstick stays on really well.

Thursday of Diva Las Vegas

It is Thursday of Diva Las Vegas, wow this week is going fast. I stayed up way to late last night about 3 am. This girl is not use to these late nights. We all slept in this morning I got up around 10 and started getting ready a little slower than the first days of the trip. I was already by 11:30. Veronica must take care of some business and Cassandra was still resting being so late in the morning she didn’t want to get ready and then must redo her makeup for the evening o she isn’t going to start getting ready till 1 or so, so I figured I would have some me time. I grabbed my computer and headed downstairs, through the casino and up to the second-floor casino bar. They don’t open this bar till the evening and they have some tables I can sit at on my computer and update my blog. This is where I have been going in the morning. Here is a picture from this morning. You can see the slot machines behind me. I finished my blog from yesterday and posted it online and then just sat here for over an hour catching up on e-mails, Facebook and even some work. I wonder what some of my co-workers would think if they knew I was dressed like this sitting in a casino doing my work on my laptop with my long pretty acrylic nails. It is un and a good place to people watch as there are several shops nearby and a pedestrian bridge from our hotel (California Hotel Casino) to their sister property the Main Street Station and of course a lot of slot machines so there are lots of people going by all the time. It was a fun and relaxing way to start my day. I probably would have stayed longer but I forgot to plug my computer in and the battery was running low.

I went back to the room to see if Cassandra was ready and she still hadn’t started getting ready. It was about 1 and we weren’t leaving till 3:45 so I went down to the casino to play a little Blackjack. I found a $5 table and sat down, there were 5 other people at the table and it was a fun table to play at. Everyone was friendly and talkative. Now two of the players were counting cards or at least I am pretty sure they were as one would bet $5 and the other $25 but everyone in a while the one would bet between $40 and $50 and the other would bet $200 to $250 and it was always the same hand so I started watching and it was always a hand after a lot of small cards came out. The funny thing is they were not wining. Soon they left and it was just me and the couple at the other end of the table and they were awesome, they were from Ohio. We talked and had a great time. I heard about their vacation and what they had done and told them about mine and Diva Las Vegas we had a great time

It was about 3 when Cassandra came down and joined our table and they just loved her too. I played till 3:30 and then I had to quit because I needed to go change and put on a dress and heels for dinner tonight. I was also $57 a head so I wanted to leave as a winner. I told Cassandra I was going to go change and the lady at the other end of the table told me I had to come back so she could see my dress, how cool is that. I went up and changed and came back down and she complimented me on my dress and how good I looked which I always love. Even Cassandra had fun playing with them of course she also won.

We left and drove downtown and there were a lot of traffic lights out the wind today is bad, 40 MPR with gusts to 60. There were fences blown over and trees down I think this is the worst wind we have had here during any of the Diva Las Vegas. We got downtown and went into the LINQ as that s were the farewell dinner is. We were early so we decided to play a little Black Jack. I did okay for a while but then the table got cold and I lost so in the end I lost $100. It was time to go to the restaurant called off the strip at the LINQ. Now some of the girls were there and we were in their big room upstairs so it was a good time to socialize and of course take pictures.

Beverly had just bought a drink and Cassandra asked her to take a picture of her so she put her drink down on the bar and took it and so I gave her my phone and asked her to take one of me and I picked up her drink, it is such a cute picture I thought, thanks Beverly. There were lots of picture being taken by everyone as this is the farewell dinner and although not the last event I may not see many of these girls again till next year. Not sure if I mentioned in earlier blogs but we have 14 girls here from our group this year which is awesome.

Dinner was served and t was really good, they have great food here and the service was wonderful.it really was a nice place and so much fun. I met a few girls that were new and this was their first time here, I met some that follow my blog and of course some that I have known for years but only see once a year when I come to Las Vegas. I really look forward to this week and it is sad that it is coming to an end. Now after dinner there was more socializing and picture taking. Now there was some confusion with the bills as they did one bill for each table, I don’t know why some restaurants do that and won’t do individual bills. Now they did bring out the big bill and from that they rang up the individual amounts so we could pay individually. Beverly had to leave so she gave me her money and I paid her bill also. Now I paid my bill which included Beverly’s and I thought it was a little high but it was a nice restaurant and I gave them a good tip about 25% After we left I was talking to Cassandra and she had a copy of the total bill for our table and it turns out what I paid already included an 18% tip. I talked to some of the girls and some had been told their bill included that and some were not. I guess I should have asked before I paid.

We went into the casino and played some more Blackjack and again I lost but this time only $40. The casino we went into was so loud, it is called O’sheas casino and it is a small side casino at the LINQ. Right by the Blackjack tables they have a band that plays and people dance right behind you, very distraction and I guess I should like that as I left after a short while because of how loud it was and that probably kept me from losing more money. By the way this is Beverly, Cassandra and me before dinner.

We went back to our hotel casino and of course went down to the Blackjack tables for a while, it was about 11:30. I played till about 2:15 am and had a great time and I won $30 so I won back some of my money. It has been a fun week but is going by so fast. It was a wonderful day.

Tomorrow is the last day of Diva Las Vegas and it will be sad to see it come to an end. Have met some wonderful people here and caught up with some great friends. The internet is wonderful as it lets you meet people you wouldn’t have a chance to from all over the country and even the world. The bad part is you make friends you may never meet or only see once a year or more. On the bright side, Beverly, might be in the Portland area in a month or two and if she does she will get to hang out with us when she is there.

Friday some of the girls are doing a racing thing and we have one more dinner before the end. Saturday Cassandra and I will leave and head to LA and go out there Saturday night and then we will drive home on Sunday not sure if we will drive all the way or stop and finish on Monday I guess that depends on how late we are out Saturday night.

Thanks for reading and sharing my vacation with me.
