Susanmillers Blog

My life as a heterosexual crossdresser.

Finally some Susan time yea.

Well it seems like forever since I have posted on my blog. In fact it has been exactly 3 weeks since I have even had the chance to be Susan. It is strange how things come up that interfere with your regular routine. It is funny as even as busy as I was I still had that need, desire to be Susan especially when I saw another woman in a cute dress or heels. Now when I do talk of need I will admit I do have a definite need to be Susan as most crossdressers do. They need to be pretty, wear makeup, heels, nails and all the other wonderful things that woman take for granted and there is a need to express myself as female but think that is the line between crosdressers and transsexuals crossdressers need to express our feminine side and transsexuals need to be female. Now I do not want you to think I am saying one is better than the other as we are all different and need different things in our lives and what is right for me is not right for everyone there is no right or wrong we all just need to be who we are and except everyone else for who they are on the inside.

Well as I said going 3 weeks without being Susan had caught up with me and I was so ready for a fun night. I actually started getting ready at 4:30 so I could enjoy the time transforming into Susan as I find this so much fun and relaxing. Now as any girl does I did change my mind several times about the dress I would wear, one of the many joys of being female. Men never really stress over their outfit. Well I was already and out the door, I got there just before 7 and Cassandra, Laura and Michelle were already there watching the Baseball game. That is correct even crossdressers like their sports teams. We all ate dinner and watched the game which was good depending on which team you wanted to win. Jodi was bar tending at least when we got there which was awesome as we don’t get to see her as much and she is such an awesome person and always makes our group feel welcome.

Well it wasn’t long and others started to show up, Cristine, Bobby, Michelle LV, Jan, Lynn Melissa, and I know there are a few more I can’t remember but we had a good turnout. It was also really busy last night as the Karaoke group was having a theme night “Disney” and they had a really good turnout, probably 50 or so and almost all in costumes and a lot of them were really good. It was a really fun night.

Well the night went by fast and as I am getting over a cold I was a little well maybe more than a little tired I only made it till about midnight before I called it a night. It is strange as normally I am one of the last people to leave so leaving when most of our group is still there just didn’t feel right but I guess one night early to get better is worth it in the long run.

Saturday I really need to go shopping as our Halloween party is only a week away and I still have no costume at least not one I have not worn before so that is how I will spend my Saturday. I am really looking forward to the party and it is funny as I look back, Halloween was all about dressing as a girl for a costume. Now Susan has become such a normal part of my life I need a female costume to wear, just being Susan is no longer a costume for me, I guess I have really grown over the last several years and that is all because of you my awesome friends. So here is wishing you all the happiness you deserve and a happy healthy life

Friday night out with my friends and the loss of Carol one of our sisters

Well again it has been another long week for my male side but I think things will begin to slow down a little now. Now the week has had some sad news as one of our group members Carol passed away the end of August, we found out from her daughter who posted it to our group from Carol’s e-mail account. Now as sad as the news was we are all glad her daughter reached out to us as too many times we in the trans community lose touch with friends we have made and never really know what happened to them as we all tend to be very secretive even with the friends we have made and I know I am no exception. I have some friends that I consider some of my best friends and yet they really know very little about me. I guess what I am saying is we should all have a few really close friends / family that we can share all of ourselves with.

Any way as I said her daughter reached out to our group and we are thankful for that. Carol was a good friend, she didn’t get out much with the group as she lived over an hour away from Portland but she was still part of our family and like all families some you see all the time and some only at holidays or special events but they are still family and loved. Now I from the e-mail her daughter sent Carol’s children were a little shocked when they were going through her stuff and came across Carol and the pictures and I can only imagine how hard that was for them. The one thing she did say was Carol looked so happy in her pictures and they were grateful that she had friends she could share this part of her life with. Their biggest regret was that Carol never shared this part of her life with them as they would have love to get to know her. It would be so awesome if her daughter who contacted us or even any of her children could come out one night with us and meet Carol’s family the Rose City T-Girls. I was trying to think and I think the last time I saw Carol was in May she had come out with the group and we both walked across the street to Walgreens as we both needed lipstick, turns out red was both of our favorite color of lipstick, something I will remember in part to my blog form that night. Carol will be missed deeply.

I think as we get older we think more about our own mortality and what will happen. I know I have thought about what my family would think going through my house and what all they would find, Makeup, dresses, wigs, heels and all the picture of Susan, would they be shocked, disgusted, ashamed, okay with it. I hope that just like Carol’s children I would hope that in the pictures and my blog they could see how happy I am and what awesome friends I have made as Susan and that would be what they remember.

Well we have a lot going on this weekend for our group so I was not sure how many would be out tonight. Actually Cassandra was the only one there when I showed up but it wasn’t long and Cristine and Bobby arrived but that would be it for a while. We also knew that the Karaoke group would not be there as I think he were all doing a renaissance fair this weekend so it would be a slower night. Well it was after 9 before others started to show up from our group. Melissa, Mikaela, Victoria and Diane.

It was great to see Diane again and what a great surprise. She actually lies on the East Coast and get to Portland every couple months. She had just been to SCC (Southern Comfort Conference) which is probably the biggest Transgender event in the world and is held in early September. I have never been to this as the time, distance and cost have never worked out for me. Actually the only transgender event I have been to is Diva Las Vegas which is in the spring so easier for me to go plus this event is more of a vacation than an event or conference. This one is so much fun as what better place than Las Vegas. A few others I know of is Esprit which is usually in early May in Port Angeles Washington in the beautiful Northwest and Pink Fest which is in Chicago in October so there are events all around if you are looking for a place to express your feminine self. Anyway it was great to see Diane and catch up with her.

I also got a good chance to talk with Mikaela, she has really come a long way since she came out last May, she has told several of her co-workers and also any Girl she goes out with. Wow even now I could not be that open about myself, you go girl. Well of course we had to get a picture of us. She had this really cute wig blonde on top with black underneath plus she had these really awesome heels. We talked for a bit and she is going to Harvey’s with the group Saturday night which is always fun. I will miss it as I am golfing again. It really is amazing as we will have 16 to 20 for Harvey’s and 7 of us golfing which means we could almost 30 of us out on a Saturday night, yes we are golfing at night they have what they call glow ball where you golf with glow in the dark balls in the dark. I guess they do have glow sticks to mark the fairway and greens and also on the flag but it will be so much fun. 4 of us are actually golfing 18 holes in the afternoon and then also that night so it will be a long day for Susan. I can remember a few years back if we could get 5 t 7 out to a Trans Club we were doing great.

Well I also got to talk with Melissa for a bit. Turns out she was already to leave her apartment but 2 of her neighbors were right outside talking and pretty much blocking her doorway. Now we have all been there I can remember watching out my window all dressed up just waiting for my neighbors to go back inside. Once I waited for over an hour and you do feel like you are trapped. Well Melissa finally just walked out and said hi to them and kept going which took a lot of courage as know they know about Melissa but it will make it easier in the future. Well Melissa took Mikaela and me outside to show us her new car, it was very nice but I told her she should have gotten a pink car. I wonder if you could buy a hot pink car.

Anyway it was a fun night, but as I was really tired didn’t sleep well last night I only made it till midnight. It is unusual for me to leave earlier than the rest but I Susan needed some beauty sleep. Well we did get one group picture before I left. Cristine got cut in half, than Susan, Mikaela, Melissa, & Cassandra. What a fun night

Out with my friends, great way to end a long week

Well it has been another long week for my male side, seems this summer has been so busy so I am always looking forward to the weekend and some fun relaxing time with my friends. I tried a different look with my eye makeup, kind of a Smokey eye look but it did take longer to do but I think it turned out well and I did get a couple compliments on how my eyes looked.

Now leaving home tonight was a little of a challenge as you all know my neighbors know about Susan although they have never met her, maybe one day they will but as far as I know their children do not and so when they are outside playing it is not the easiest to get out. when I went out last Wednesday they were out so I left my wig off and put my sunglasses on which works as I was wearing a neutral lipstick that really would show I thought as I drove by but tonight I had on my favorite red lipstick which I knew they would see so I put my wig on and hoped for the best. Well it turns out they were running between the front yard and the back yard so I did my best to time my leaving when they ran to the backyard. As I drove past their house they were just heading back to the front so I don’t think they got a good look at me. Anyway I was on my way to meet my friends and have an awesome, relaxing night out.

Chris & Roxy were just walking in when I arrived and as it was about 7:15 their small parking lot was full yes all 5 spots so I had to park on the street which is fine as I have become so much more comfortable being out as Susan. Inside Chris, Roxy, Cassandra, Reesa, and Samantha were all there so we would have a good turnout tonight. It wasn’t long and Melissa, Cristine, Bobby, Victoria, Stefia, Amy, Kelli, Laura and Jenny showed up. It would be a great night.

It was cool to see Stefia out and get a chance to talk with her and catch up, we have been trying to get together for a while and our schedules just don’t line up but maybe this week we can get together for dinner. Any way we had a chance to talk and it turns out that Stefia knows Kelli but in her male side. They met through Kelli’s business and have several friends in common well at least her male side does, what a small world it is. Of course we had to get a picture; this is Stefia and me, what a cute dress Stefia had on.

I also got to talk with Amy and Kelli. It has been a while since Kelli has been out as she really does work hard. She owns 2 businesses and of course both are really busy during the summer so it was wonderful she could make it out. We talked about Diva Las Vegas which will be March 30 through April 4 2014 for anyone interested. Kelly is planning on going for the whole week next year and I know Cassandra, Cristine, me and I believe Julie, Michelle, and Melissa are also planning on it so that would be a fun group. Well Stefia also got a picture of Kelli and I and one can never have too many pictures to post so here it is. I sat down next to her so I wouldn’t tower over her; we really need to get her in a pair of 4″ heels.

I also got a chance to talk with Melissa; she is planning on telling her girlfriend about Melissa which is always a big and scary step as you never really know how someone will act. There are several options but it takes a special person to accept it and support you, but every once in a while you hit the jackpot. I found Kim and she is so wonderful and supportive of my Susan side and Cassandra has her wife Peggy , Jan has her wife Lynn and they are both the same and also Kathy who supports her husband so there is a chance Melissa’s girlfriend will be supportive and we all hope for this although we all know if she is Melissa is planning on moving to be closer to her and we would all miss her.

It was a good night and the place was packed as the Karaoke group had a good turnout also. It is so cool as we have really good interaction with them and actually most of the customers. We have been accepted here and are always treated well by everyone which is all anyone wants, none of us expect everyone to love us and want to hang out with us but all we do want is to be shown the same respect as anyone else.

I also got a chance to talk with Laura and Jenny, I have met them before but they really don’t get out that much so it was nice to get to know them better. We really do have a wonderful group and we are all more like family then friends, a group of sisters and we have all areas of the transgender community in our group from the occasional crossdresser to those who have transitioned and are living full time. What is even better is we all accept each other for who we are and support each other. I think that is why our group has grown so much.

Well as I said it has been a long week and I was so tired tonight that by midnight I was ready to call it a night but I did manage to hang in till about 12:45 at which time the rest of the girls were ready to leave. We still had Cassandra, Victoria, Jenny and Laura there. It was a fun night all the way around. On the way out Paul the owner asked us if we would come in for Monday night football, he said it will be a lot of fun and the group should come in which I am sure some will. It is nice to have a business that actually wants us there and I really do think most businesses are this way; it is a shame that a few places are out there and cause problems.

Thanks for reading and may you all have a great weekend.

Dinner with friends

Well it has been a busy week but I did find time to go out and have dinner with my Friends on Wednesday night. It is always a fun time. I got downtown Portland about 6:30, Cassandra, Kim, Chris & Sarah were already there and it wasn’t long before Amy, Melissa and Cristine showed up. We sat at the bar and talked for awhile.

After awhile we moved over to the tables so we could order dinner. Rachael, Dee, Petra, Joan and Kimberly also showed up so we had a really good turnout for a Wednesday night. We had a nice dinner and great conversation and just a fun couple hours.

As always it goes by too fast and soon it was time for me to leave. Most of the girls were going next door to play pool and dance. It is a shame I can’t stay out later during the week but it was still a fun night.

Luau BBQ on Saturday

Well Saturday Susan had a chance to go to a BBQ. Being a Luau I wore my black floral print dress which seems to have shrunk a little as it took a little work to get into. Victoria Sinclair, she runs Over the Rainbow Transformations has a monthly social for t-girls. I got there a little after 6 and there were already about 10 t-girls there, Some I knew and some I didn’t, Cindy and Her wife Alice, Rachel and Dee, Cristine & Bobby, and Joan, it is always nice when you know some of the people.

Cindy showed me around Victoria’s shop which was nice. I have known Victoria for probably 5 years and for one reason or another I have not had a chance to make it to one of her events till now. She has converted a house into a shop where she sells everything a t-girl could need from clothes, shoes, wigs and makeup plus she will do makeovers. She has a small nail salon setup including a pedicure chair, Massage and facial station and a makeup station where she will do your makeup and even teach you how to do it yourself. It is pretty impressive what she has done. She even has an area where you can rent a locker for those that need to keep their girl items secret. The back yard is huge and beautiful in case you just want to hang out and enjoy your time. With all this she has bought the house across the street where she now lives and opened a bed & breakfast there so now you can have a place to stay also, it really is an impressive place.

Well by now more people had arrived and there were snacks out to eat. We all sat out in the big backyard at tables and snacked and talked. Petra, Victoria, Kim, Kelly, Jan and Lynn also showed up. Jan was the one in charge of the grill. It was a fun and relaxing evening with friends. I met a few new people including Brandi; she had contacted me on Flickr about Saturday night so she stopped by, always nice to meet a new friend. I also met Lilly and got a chance to talk with her briefly. I also met another t-girl named Cassandra so know I know 3 Cassandra’s.

It was a fun night, big thanks to Victoria & Petra for making such a lovely safe place for t-girls and also to Jan for cooking all the food.

A long and exciting week comes to an end, time to relax with friends.

Wow what an exciting awesome week. I was so ready to spend some times with my friends. For those of you who have followed my blog you have probably already read that the verdict came back on the discrimination complaint about our being kicked out of a club for being transgender and we won, the state agreed that we were discriminated and our rights were violated under the Oregon equal rights law. It has been a long 14 months and although we won it is not over as we are sure and actually looking forward to Chris Penner the bar owner appealing this ruling. This was an administrative Judge ruling which is good but an appeals Judge ruling or even the state Supreme Court ruling would be better. Here is a link to story.

Well as we always go out on Friday nights I had that to look forward to but tonight 3 of us were meeting early as Cassandra had been contacted by a couple of the local TV stations for interviews. Now as I was working I could not make the first one but did the second one. We were meeting at 5 in downtown Portland so I was both excited and scared at the same time as this is an important issue that I really felt we needed to be said but it also would mean being interviewed on the local TV station. It was nice that we got there a little early and had a chance to talk before and calm down.

Finally our wait was over and the TV van pulled up. The reporter and camera guy came in, the Reporters name was Erica Nochlin. She talked to us for a bit off camera and really helped put us at ease telling us to just look and talk with her and not to think about the camera which really helped. They were there for almost an hour and talked to each of us for about 5 minutes on camera for what turns out to be about a minute of time on the TV news, here is the video if you want to check it out. What an awesome night so far and it would only get better as we had the rest of the night with our friends.

Well we were off to join up with the rest of our friends and have a relaxing Friday night out and I am sure some celebrating. What a wonderful way to end the week. Chris and Roxy were already there when Cassandra, Cristine and I arrived. We even had a new girl named Reesa show up. She just moved back to Portland and found out about the group from the news. It was nice to meet her and she seems really nice so we all look forward to getting to know her better. Well more of our group showed up Kim, Jan, Lyn, Michelle, Stacy, Lorraine and Robin. Robin had moved away from Portland maybe a year or two ago but has now moved back so we look forward to seeing her out again more. It was good to talk with her and catch up.

Well you can guess what the number one topic of conversation was tonight. There really was an extra bit of excitement and joy in the air tonight. Rachel & Heather, Danielle & Kelly were also there and they were awesome, such wonderful friends. The group Met Rachel at the P-Club and she was so awesome and is why we know about and come here now as she had talked to the owner about us and he invited us to his bar. It really is like one big family here. We really have met so many wonderful people here and they have made our group feel at home.

Well the group played pool and sang karaoke and just had a wonderful time. At 10 pm Paul the owner shut down Karaoke long enough to watch Cassandra’s interview with KPTV and then he bought our group a shot of something that tasted like Banana cream pie. How great was that. It was back to Karaoke and of course Kim, Chris and Lynn all sang and did great as always. At 11 he did the same thing and turned on KATU for the interview with Cassandra, Cristine and me, this was the first time we had seen the interview and it is a little strange to be watching yourself on TV in a bar full of people but everyone at the bar was supportive of us and told us we did great. Later Rachel, Heather, Danielle, Kelly and Lorraine sang either don’t stop believing or we are the champions or maybe both for our group, how cool was that. What wonderful friends we have.

Later on Jan put in to sing Girls just want to have fun and Jan, Lynn, Cassandra and I all got up and sang, yes I can get up and sing with other people just not by myself but who knows now that I have been on TV for the second time I can work up the courage to sing well we will see. It really was in incredible night. It was almost 2 am and Cassandra and I were the last two from our group when I left, Cassandra was still there playing pool but I am sure she didn’t stay much longer as they would be closing soon. What a wonderful night

Awesome Wednesday night meeting with our Attorney

Well it has been an awesome afternoon and evening. It started about 4 when Cassandra sent out a text that the Judge had issued his decision in our case against the P-Club and Chris Penner for discriminating against our group by kicking us out of his club. Our Attorney Sue-Del McCulloch wanted to meet with us at Fox & Hound tonight and tell us what she could. Now I had not planned on going out tonight but there was no way I was going to miss this. I actually started getting ready as soon as I got the text.

I got to Fox & Hound by 6:15 and Cassandra, Chris, Kim and Victoria were already there. I guess we were all excited to hear what Sue-Del had to say even though she wouldn’t be here till 7:30 to 8 pm. Well it wasn’t long and Kelly, Christine, Mellissa and Sarah showed up. Actually tonight was Sarah’s first night out with the group as she just joined our group a couple days ago. It was awesome to meet her and such an exciting night to be out. Petra, Jan, Lynn and a few others even showed up, I think we had maybe 15 of us there by 7.

We were all waiting for Sue-Del and we knew it was good news as she had told Cassandra that much. Well Sue-Del showed up about 8 and we all couldn’t wait. Now she couldn’t go into a lot of details as the Judge’s decision won’t be made public till Friday 8-30-2013 when it is released to the media which is also the reason this blog will be posted a little later than normal. It is kind of symbolic that the judge released his decision on our discrimination suit on the 50 year anniversary of the walk on Washington and the day Martin Luther King Jr. gave his speech “I have a dream”. Any way Sue-Del told us that the Judge supported found that Chris Penner had in fact discriminated against us and violated our rights under state law.

We are all thrilled with the verdict and actually very surprised at how fast all this has happened. I can remember when we sat together at the Rainbow room on July 11 2012 (thank god for my blog) and talked about if we should go and meet with Beth Allen our first attorney. She had seen the YouTube video Cassandra had posted of Chris Penner telling us not to come back because we were transgender. Here we are a little over 13 months later with a ruling in our favor. I think most of us thought it would take a year or so just to investigate and then a year or more to work its way through the system. Beth Allen started our case but as she was appointed to be a Judge in February she got us in touch with Sue-Del who agreed to take over our case and we as a group were truly blessed to have had two such incredible, supportive attorneys to help us we can never thank them enough.

Now we all realize that this is not over as Chris Penner will almost for sure appeal the decision and we all expected this and in a way I think in a way we are excited about him appealing it. We look at it this way, several years back I think in 2007 the state of Oregon past a law protecting transgender people from discrimination. Actually the law basically says that transgender people have the rights of the gender they present as. Now we all know that laws can be passed but it can always be challenged in court. Well this law has and it stood up which is great for all transgender people and not just in Oregon as many States and cities have passed similar laws and now there has been a Judge that upheld it. Now this was an administrative hearing and Judge so having it go on to the State appeals court and getting them to support the law and uphold transgender rights would be huge. We really have a long road ahead and I think it will be at least 2 to 5 more years to go through the appeals process. The best thing is that this will send a message to all businesses that if they do discriminate against Transgender people they will be held accountable and will face huge legal action.

I am truly proud to be a part of this and such a wonderful group here in Oregon. There were 13 of us that were able to step up and make a stand and many more in our group that for one reason or another were unable to but were always there supporting us, it truly was a team effort and I hope all of the members are proud of this wonderful group or should I say family of people.

I really want to Thank the following people and let them know how much they have helped us and what an impact they have made on our lives and all transgender people.

Beth Allen our first Attorney

Sue-Del McCulough our current attorney

Brad Avakian the commissioner of BOLI

Chet Nakada the hearing presenter for BOLI

Jen also a hearing presenter from BOLI

You all are awesome people.

Couple more links Here is an video interview and story.

Well Friday night I will once again be out with my friends and we will be celebrating so it will be an awesome night. I am really looking forward to it as I am sure many others in our group will be as it will be our first chance to talk after this is made public and release to the media. None of us know what the future holds for us but I know for me this experience will be one of the highlights of my life.

Levi’s last night as bar tender at Sweet Home

Well it has been another long week and as always I was so looking forward to Friday night and spending time with my friends. I actually got off work a little early today which is always nice as I don’t have to rush to get ready plus I actually took a short nap well actually I fell asleep on the couch, hope that is not a sign of my getting older. I woke up a little over an hour later at 4:30 and headed upstairs for a nice bath which I don’t do very often but they are really relaxing. I was hoping to be too Sweet Home earlier than 7 tonight so I was done with my bath by 5 and started getting Susan ready with the hope of being all done by 6 which I should be able to do. Everything was going as I planed and at 6:05 I was in my car pulling out of my drive.

I got to Sweet Home by 6:25 and went in to find Chris already there; I think he comes straight from work so he probably gets here about 6. He was watching some You Tube videos on his computer and some of them were pretty funny. The special looked really good BBQ ribs and corn on the cob which I love but I also knew that it would be messy to eat so I chose something else as I didn’t want to risk messing up my makeup or getting BBQ sauce under my beautiful nails, yes a girl hast to make sacrifices.

There was already a pretty good crowd for this early as I think a lot of people came out for Levi’s last night. For those of you who have never been to Sweet Home Levi is the head bar tender there but he recently got another job and so he will be leaving are happy little family here. He really is wonderful as he has made us all feel welcome here from the first night we showed up. He adds that personal touch to his job which is awesome and actually every one there does the same. Paul the owner has a wonderful staff and they all make you feel like you are part of their family including Paul who is there on most Friday nights and always talks with his customers. There was a TV show many years ago called Cheers and this bar feels just like that TV show, here is a couple lines from the theme song to the show. Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name, and they’re always glad you came. You wanna be where you can see; our troubles are all the same you wanna be where everybody knows your name. We will miss him but he promises to stop in and see everyone.

Well it wasn’t long and more of our group started to show up, I was hoping we would have a good turnout tonight. Kim, Laura, Roxy, Crsitine, Bobby, Victoria, Cassie, Jan, Lynn, Samantha, Queeny, Petra and Lorraine showed up. It was good to see Samantha and Queeny again as they don’t get out as much with the group. Hope I didn’t miss anyone. Paul the owner will be filling in on Friday nights for a while I guess till he can find a replacement so tonight he was there almost the whole night and working behind the bar.

I got a chance to talk with Lorraine for a bit it was good to see her out again. She couldn’t stay late though. It was just a fun night and it was busy I think a lot of people came in to see Levi on his last night. Kim, Roxy, Victoria and I talked for a while which is always fun. I think Susan enjoys the whole social aspect of being out. It is not really what we are doing or where we go but the friends I am with that make the night so special. I hope they all know how special they all are to me.

Well the Karaoke group also had a good showing I would guess they had upwards of 30 in their group here tonight and so when Karaoke started there was a long list of people to sing. Laura, Chris, Kim, Lynn and Queeny all got up and sang but with so many people there to sine they only got to sing a couple songs but they all did awesome. Well it got late and was time for Kim to leave so I walked her out to her car to say goodnight. It is always sad to see Kim leave.

I got back inside and it was still packed but as several of our group had left we could mostly fit around just the one table now. Laura was the big pool winner tonight as she played many games. Well Samantha and Queen left and it wasn’t long before they were back as they needed a jump to get their car going so Lynn went out and tried to jump start their car but no luck so they had to call a tow truck so they got to stay a little longer. Not a great way to end an evening. I think a lot of us think about that when we are out. It is one thing to call a tow truck or a friend when you are out but when you are dressed it adds a hole nother level to the problem. This is one of the greatest things about cell phones and why I think everyone should have one.

Well Ed showed up for a bi, he actually met our group through Kim so he stopped by for a beer unfortunately Kim had left about 30 minutes earlier so we invited him to sit with us and I introduced him to Jan and Lynn and Laura. We talked for about 20 minutes, he actually just stopped in for a beer but it was still good to see him and I hope he knows he is always welcome to join us on Friday night.

Well it was after 1 when the last of us Jan, Lynn, Laura and I left. It was a wonderful evening and of course I forgot to get a picture with Levi well hopefully the next time he comes in as a customer I can get a picture with him and maybe our group. It was a fun night and always sad to see it come to an end.

With that I would like to thank Levi for all he has done and the way he has treated us over the past year, you are more than a bar tender you are a friend. The same goes for the rest of the staff here. Jodi the other bar tender who for the first several times I met her here on her nights off made us feel just as welcome and we thought she was just a customer. Even Paul the owner has sat down with us on slower night and talked with us and got to know us. It is just a great friendly neighbor hood bar that accepts everyone. We all wish Levi the best in his new job.

Thanks for reading

Last Friday of July

Well it is Friday night and of course we all know what that means, Susan gets to go out with her friends for a fun evening. It is such a wonderful way to end a week and start a relaxing weekend. We meet at Sweet Home Bar and Grill which is a local neighbor hood bar but has been so wonderful and excepting to our group. I got there just after 7 and Kim was just walking in when I was pulling into the parking lot and I could see Cassandra’s car right in front. Inside Cassandra, Kim and Bobby were already there.

Amy was next to show up, it was great to see here again, she is so much fun and nice to talk with, I am trying to get her to go golfing with us when we go again later in the summer. Well it wasn’t long and others started to show up. Mikaela, Cristine, Cassie Laura (not the regular one but I have met this Laura a couple times in the past) Jenny (a GG with Laura) and Ed so we had a really good group.

It was fun to sit and talk with each other especially Laura, Jenny and Ed as I wanted to get to know them better as one can never have too many friends. I am pretty sure Laura is full time but the topic never came up and I didn’t want to just ask as to me when we are out as girls it really doesn’t matter if you are full time, part time or just crossdress once in a great while as if you are dressed as a female then you are female just that simple. It is funny as that seems to be the question I get asked the most, people are afraid to talk to me as they don’t know what to say or how to address me and I always tell them the same thing. If I am presenting as female (dressed as a girl) then address me as such, Miss, her, she, Susan. I think this is a good rule of thumb and although maybe not correct 100% of the time I would be willing to bet 99%+ it will be. I do not know one person who goes out presenting as the opposite sex that is not happy being addressed that way.

Well I got a chance to talk with Mikaela. We are talking about doing a girls day or evening out, shopping and dinner which will be so much fun. Going shopping as Susan is always fun and having someone along to chat with would be awesome but it may be a bit as we both have busy schedules the next few weeks. Of course we had to get pictures. It is funny as I see the excitement in Mikaela that I use to have. Don’t get me wrong I so love my Susan time out but as I have been doing it for several years it has become more of a common and that excitement of experiencing things for the first time has faded some. I love pictures and getting pictures while out but I don’t often think of it even though I have my camera with me all the time. Wow a little side tracked, anyway Mikaela took the picture above of me and of course we had to get this one of us together.

Well Karaoke started and Kim sang a few songs and did awesome, she is really good at singing. Laura even got up and sang a song and did really well. I still haven’t worked up the courage to get up and sing but I have been somewhat working on learning a couple songs so maybe someday, well we will see.

Monica and Shannon showed up. Shannon is full time and looks great, she kind of reminds me of Jennifer Aniston from the show Friends. I only got to talk to them briefly as well first I didn’t notice when they came in but as always the night goes by so fast. Soon it was almost midnight and it was time for Kim to leave so I walked her to her car which was right next to mine in the parking lot. Always hard to see her leave but I will see her again soon.

Well back inside it was getting busy as a lot of the Karaoke group was there by now. Even Blue showed up which was awesome, it has been several month since she has been to Sweet Home on a Friday night. It was great to chat with her and catch up on things you know girl talk.

Next week several of our group will not be able to make it out on Friday night which is a shame as it is Levi’s last night. He has been our Friday night Bar tender for the last year and more than that our good friend. He has been so wonderful to us but he has found a new and better job and even though we will all miss him we wish him the best. Hopefully he will still come in as a customer so we will get to see him from time to time but it will be different. I think the owner Paul is going to bar tend on Friday nights at least for a while which is good too as he is also wonderful. He is the one who when he heard the P-club had asked us to leave invited us to come to his place. I will have to get a picture with Levi before he leaves.

Well it was an awesome night as always but soon it was after 1 and it was time for us to leave. It is amazing how fast those 6 hours go by. Thanks for reading and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Out for dinner with my friends

Well it was Wednesday night and I had the chance to go out to dinner with some of my friends which is always fun but it was also a chance to have dinner with Kim so I was really looking forward to it. I got to Fox & Hound before 7; Kim and Cristine were already there. It was going to be a great night. The three of us talked while we waited for others to show up. It wasn’t long and Cassandra and Melissa showed up so we talked about what we wanted for dinner and decided to walk up the street to House of Louie for Chinese food.

It was a nice warm day and the walk up the street was nice. It is amazing thinking back just a few years I would never have walked the streets of Portland during the daylight as Susan. It is so relaxing and fun to just be out as Susan and able to express this side of me. They have really good food here so if you are ever in downtown Portland and want Chinese food give them a try.

It wasn’t long and Victoria, Lynn and Jan showed up so we had a nice little group for dinner. We had an awesome time just relaxing and talking over a nice dinner. As always time goes by so fast and soon it was almost 9 which during the week I my limit for being out. Kim also had to leave, we said our goodbyes and left. It is always hard to leave but I will see them all again on Friday night again. Kim and I walked backed to our cars which was a wonderful way to end an evening.

Now I look forward to Friday night when I can stay out later.
