Nails are done and back at Starbucks

I decided not to call a head and make an appointment and just go to Dream nails as a walk in. As I left Starbucks in my car two people I work with were walking in, I guess I picked the right time to leave. Dream nails is just across the street so I got there just before 9:30 and walked in to get a manicure and pedicure. There was only one other woman there so I didn’t have to wait. Kathy greeted me and told me to pick out a color, Anna was not here yet so I got another lady, I not sure of her name, I think Tina but she was really nice. She started with a pedicure which I was really looking forward to as they are so relaxing. The last pedicure I got really lasted, it was 6 weeks ago and I just started to get a few small chips at the end of one of my toes. the salt scrub, massage and lotion is so wonderful and my legs and feet always feel so wonderful and look awesome afterwards.

Now it did get busier and soon there were 3 ladies getting pedicures, 2 getting manicures and 1 lady getting 1 nail fixed which I can relate too as a few years back I broke an acrylic nail at Diva Las Vegas and nothing was more important at that time then getting it fixed. A few of the ladies got talking and I even got in on the conversation, it was really wonderful. Now it was time to painting my toes and I went with Pompeii Purple again the same color I got last time as I think it is a great summertime color.

Anna and several other girls showed up at 10, Anna I guess comes in later Saturday but then she owns the shop and usually works 7 days a week. It was about 10:10 when she finished my pedicure and my toes looks awesome. Now I wondered what would happen. Usually I call and set up an appointment with Anna to get my nails done so usually after my pedicure I go to Anna for my nails. Well turns out today I stayed with the same lady which was fine. She had me sit there for a few minutes while she did another ladies nail, just gel polish so it only took a about 5 minutes. In the meantime, Anna came over and talked with me which was nice, really all the workers here are wonderful. We talked about her vacation to Las Vegas. The last time I came in that is where she was. It was nice just to chat with her for a while.

Soon the lady doing my nails was done with the other lady and I moved over next to her as she was waiting for her daughter to get done with her nails, I chatted with them briefly. It was relaxing to get my nails done and I really enjoy it. Anna had asked me what polish I wanted and I told her the clear pink which I have been getting but I wanted to do 449 First Kiss on my pinkies. I have got this color before when I was just doing the gel polish. While she was grinding down the acrylic and getting it ready Knee the lady who did my last pedicure brought the polish over but brought 451 Rocken Rose and it was a rose color so I told her I needed the other one and she went and exchanged it.

After she took the top layer of acrylic off she shortened my nails a little and shaped them. It really is a fun experience to have someone else do your nails. The new acrylic came next and then she smoothed them out and cleaned them up. Now it was time for the polish. She started with my left-hand pinky and put the first coat of “First Kiss” on and it did have a pink color to it but I went ahead. She then did the right hand and then back for the second coat and yes, it is a pink color. Now as I said I had this color before on my natural nails and it did not look that pink. On one finger, I may get away with it but there is no way I could do all my fingers this color.

Now with 2 coats on she grabbed the color and asked if I wanted another coat and I said no, that would make it way too bright of a pink so she did the top coat. My nails once again looked awesome although I couldn’t help looking at the pink on my pinkies, it really is a pretty shade for a subtle color. It would be nice to do all my nails this color but as my ale self I just couldn’t get away with it. I am still trying to find a neutral color that I could do that would not be noticeable, but I think that will be hard to do as the point of polish is to be seen.

It was a little after 11 when I was all done and she did an awesome job on my nails. Now I only had a little over an hour before I had to go home and change back to my boring male self so there really wasn’t much time to do anything so it was back across the street to Starbucks where I could hang out with my computer. I got there and they were busy, all but one table in the corner by the door were taken and there was about 6 people in line. I stood in line and waited my turn. Once I ordered my drink I look and the table by the door was still open so I went over and set up my computer and then went and waited for my drink.

It was busy and people just kept coming in to get drinks. It was a good place to sit and people watch while I worked on my computer. It was a fun relaxing time. Now I had been here about 30 minutes when I saw my boss walk in the door, I had my head down and just lowered it more. My boss ordered a drink and then she stood only a few feet away from me waiting for the drink. I just kept my head down, it was only about 5 minutes but it felt like my boss was standing there forever. Once my she left I felt a little better and started people watching again. I spent about 1 ½ hours here before I left and went home. I was glad I got out early this morning. Saturday morning may be my only chance to get out for a while but I will take advantage of it as any Susan time is better than none.

Okay it is funny how plans change, Friday I realized I had Saturday morning free again at least till about 1 so I figured I would get up and go to Starbucks about 9 and catch up on things, a good plan. Well I was really tired after a long week and when I got home about 8 I sat down to watch TV and fell asleep on the couch only to wake up about midnight and go to bed. Well needless to say I was awake by 5:30 in the morning. I decided to start my Susan time early so I got up and got ready. I was already a little before 7 and on my way. I got to the Starbucks just before 7 am and went in, they are not really busy at this time only 3 other people.

Now I noticed my toes were looking bad and in need of a pedicure as it has been about 6 weeks since my last one and looking at my finger nails they still look great, the man that did them last time did an awesome job. He put the acrylic on a little bit thicker but they look great and yes, I have kept the pinky with that pale pink color although it does kind of stand out. I am sure people noticed and just didn’t say anything. So, I must decide, do I get a pedicure I need or wait till I need to do my fingers. I guess I could do my fingers but it has only been 12 days. Well I have till 9 to decide.

Now although Starbucks is not busy at least with people sitting inside they do have a steady stream of people coming in and getting drinks to go. It is still fun to people watch as I take care of e-mails and a little work. It really is a relaxing way to spend a Saturday morning and to thank I had never been to a Starbucks till I went the first time as Susan. Even still I have probably only gone to Starbucks a handful of times as my male self. Starbucks is kind of my Susan thing to do.

Any way as I sit here I am looking at my finger nails and although they don’t really need to be done today I have decided I will go get a manicure and pedicure as looking forward it is very unlikely I will be able to get out next weekend and most likely it will be two weeks before I get a chance for Susan time and to get my nails done and they would be to long both for grow out as I said the acrylic is a little thicker and also length, they are just getting to the point they are on the long side at least for my male side. By the way not only did I keep the pinky color but I also kept the shine. So, I will be going to the nail salon. Now should I call or just drop in without an appointment.

Now I must decide what to do after I get my nails done as I will still have a couple hours. As I was only planning yesterday to be out from 9 till noon it was just going to be Starbucks. It really doesn’t matter as it will be time as Susan and even if I just come back to Starbucks after it will be good. More later after my nails are done.

Saturday morning at Starbucks

Okay my free time is very limited and that also means my time as Susan. It is hard as I was getting out 2 to 3 times a week and now it seems I am lucky to get out 2 or 3 times a month. Friday night I was thinking, I don’t have to be anyplace till about 1 but I have some work I must do but luckily all I need is a computer and internet. So, my thought is to combined work and Susan on Saturday morning. Instead of sleeping in Saturday I got up at 7 and started getting ready you could say for work. It was about 8:40 when I was all ready to leave and with my computer and purse in hand I was out the door. You guessed it I was heading for Starbucks to do my work, should take about 3 hours.

I got to the Starbucks by my house and I was surprised they were not busy at all, only 4 people inside, I guess people had other things to do on a Saturday morning. I parked and went inside and ordered a hot chocolate and a pastry for breakfast and sat down at a table by the window to do my work. Well I guess I was just early because a little after 9 people started coming in and I do mean people. Soon every table was taken and a couple next to me asked if they could use the empty chair at my table and I said yes. I guess Saturday mornings are indeed a Starbucks day. As soon as someone would leave a table or chair someone else took it, and there were always at least 10 to 12 people waiting in line to get something and with all the people here talking it was kind of loud but good for people watching. Now the funny thing there was a lady at the table next to me and she was taking some pictures of her kids, 2 girls and one boy. The girls across the table and the boy on her side. When she took the picture of the boy I could see the phone was more pointed towards me so I gave her a cute smile, not sure if she noticed.

Well I sat and di my work, it is kind of funny to think I am doing some of my work as Susan even though no one at work knows about this part of my life at least I don’t think so. I think that is something I wonder about more now, who knows and just doesn’t say anything. I mean 2 of my neighbors know for sure although one moved away. I guess you never know if or who they have told. Do other neighbors know and just don’t say anything, I mean it would be hard to bring up in a conversation, “boy it has been a dry summer and I hear you dress as a woman”? short of just asking flat out I guess. Same at work. I mean I have had nicely kept nails for a few years now and since March well shaped, a little long and a light layer of acrylic. I am sure people have noticed and just either don’t care or don’t know what to say. I guess I will really never know who all knows, I do kind of wish those that do know and are okay with it would say so though.

I have been here almost 2 hours now and it is still really busy just a few minutes ago there were 18 people in line, I want another drink but hoping the line will get smaller. By the way I have seen 3 people I know so far come in, one a neighbor from down the street, I don’t really know them by name but have said hi to them a few times. I wonder if I have missed anyone I know that I just didn’t see as I was working.

By the way I still have my nails just the same as when I got them done last Monday, shiny with the pinkies with the pale pink color. It really is a cute subtle color but I think if I did all my nails that way it would be really noticeable. Although I would love it. I really wish that it was normal if men wanted pretty nails.

Well the line finally got small only 4 people so I made my move and went up to get another drink. It is amazing how busy they have been. By the time I got up to order my drink there were 10 people behind me in line. I guess I timed it just right. The lady remembered my name as did the man who made it. Now I had to stand in a group and wait for my drink. It is kind of hard to move around in here with all the people. I guess mornings are the time for Starbucks as this has been the busiest it has ever been at a Starbucks I have gone to by a long way. I got back to my table just as another person I know came in. now I know what you are thinking all these people I know am I worried, I guess a little but although I know them they are not what I would call friends, I know them but that is about it so I guess you could call them acquaintances. Yes, I know them by name but that is about it, but it has been fun. I do some work and then spend a few minutes on my blog and then back to work. It is nice that Computers make it easy do to things like this.

By the way I want to ad that the hurricane that hit Texas and the one that will hit Florida are sad and my thoughts and prayers are with them as with all the people being effected by wild fires. These are sad events and a time for us to come together as a nation and stand together. Those on social media who are being divisive on this are wrong to do so and those who say this is punishment for our current government you are way out of line. To think that these areas are being punished somehow for how they voted is unacceptable and you should be ashamed. I don’t care who you voted for, if you are my friend I except you for you but I do draw the line at wishing people harm. I am not okay with violence, I am against the KKK, White Supremacist, Black Lives Matters, Antifa and for that matter anyone who uses violence to deny someone else their rights or freedom under our constitution. I may not agree or like what you say but I will stand and defend your right to say it as that is what America stands for. Okay off my soap box and back to my blog.

Now an update on our Cruise in October 2018. It seems we have had some girls from Seattle and Sacramento who are joining us also on the cruise. We are unsure of how many have signed up but Cassandra thinks we have had between 10 and 15 cabins booked through our group. It sounds like we will have a good turnout for this but there is still time. Well it is about 11:30 and it is finally quieting down here at Starbucks. Only about 10 people here now but still 10 in line or waiting for their drinks. It has been a relaxing morning and although I didn’t get as much of my work done as I hoped it was good and just having a few hours out as Susan was wonderful. I really miss being out with my friends but I will take what I can get.

A manicure and finally just a little Susan time.

Okay my Susan time has been very limited since I returned from Diva Las Vegas. Dealing with family health issues, for those who follow my blog my Mom is all better but now it is my Dad so it looks like it will be even longer till I get back to where Susan can get out on a regular basis. So, I thought I would give a few highlights of what is going on for Susan.

Probably the most exciting thing is our group the Rose City T-girls are planning a 7-day Mexican in October of 2018, there will be all the information about this at the end of the blog so be sure to read it all. Cassandra did set up a group for it that is open to all https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/mexicanrivieracruisetgirls/info . I know for sure we have 8 of us who have booked rooms already, I picked a deluxe balcony room, the other have booked either mini suits or suits. Well back to my blog, I did manage to get out two weeks ago just long enough to get my nails done, that is the one thing I have managed to do. But today being a holiday, I had the morning free and so I was going to get my nails done and spend a little time as Susan. I called Dream nails on Sunday afternoon to make sure they would be open and they were so I set up an appointment for 9 am, Anna is still on vacation so not sure who will do my nails.

I got up Monday morning and started getting ready at 7:30, wow took longer than normal I guess not dressing much lately I am a little slower. It was 8:55 when I finished and was ready to leave, luckily the nails salon is only a couple minutes away. I got there right at 9 just as they were opening. Now as I said I wasn’t sure who my appointment was with and the guy asked me if it was with Kathy and I just said yes so, I waited a little as I looked at the different nail colors. Now the last few times I have gotten clear pink (441) just above my thumb but I really wanted to try another polish something just a little more. I debated between first kiss (top right and Sweet Romance (452 just below it). I held them to my fingers and decided Sweet Romance looked pretty neutral to my nails but still not brave enough to just go for it. One of the men there asked if I wanted to keep waiting or if I wanted him to do my nails. I said that was fine so he took me over to the table and asked what color I wanted. I told him the clear pink but I wanted to try the Sweet Romance on just my pinky to see how it looked. And he said that was fine.

He started on my nails, ground off the old gel polish and just a little of the acrylic, shortened them a little and then started the fill. It is still amazing I have had acrylic on my nails since I left for Diva Las Vegas back in March although it is a thin layer and not real noticeable. He did a really wonderful job, I must say I have always been treated awesome here and always got a really wonderful job on my nails. I would highly recommend Dream Nails.

It took him about 30 minutes and now it was time for the gel polish. He put a base coat on first and then started with the gel polish on my right hand. Now I had said I wanted the Sweet Romance on my pinky and I had pointed to my left hand but evidently, he thought it was both pinkies as before I knew it he had put it on my right pinky so I just went with it, it had a slight pink color to it more then what it looked like on the nails color wheel but still okay. Soon it was time for the second coat on my nails. Now I tried not to really look at it while he was doing them as I wanted to be surprised at the end. Now came the top clear coat. My nails were all done and I got a good look at them, wow that is a light pink color a lot pinker then on the color wheel. I am not sure my mat polish will do anything for this color but dull the shine down. Here is a picture of my nails, notice the pinky, what do you think. It is a cute color but may be way to noticeable.

It was almost 10 when I was all done, the morning was starting off wonderful. I left the nail salon and decided to go to Walmart as I really want some sandals to wear so I can show my pretty toes off. I got there about 10:15 and went in and looked around. They had a closeout section and I found a pair that are women’s but are pretty plain and I could probably wear them as my male self and now one would think twice as they are just a light brown color, they are perfect and marked $25.99 bit on closeout shelf so I am hoping they are less. I got to the checkout and I was right, they were marked down to $9.00.

Well now it was getting close to 11 so I decided to go to the Starbucks by my house for a little while. I got there and they were really busy but most were sitting outside, there were only about 15 people inside and I could see some empty tables so I went in. The young man at the counter remembered me and said it had been a while which it has. He did ask me to remind him of my name which I did. It is amazing how well I have been treated when I have been out.

It was a wonderful day. I sat here at Starbucks for a couple hours catching up on e-mails and of course my blog. I really appreciate my time out as I am limited now. Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day and I hope you can join us on our cruise. Here is all the information.
