Wednesday night dinner and going to Southland Whiskey Kitchen

It is Wednesday night and we are doing dinner at Southland Whiskey Kitchen which is really a nice place and has great food, even though I have the same thing when we go there. Now I have never mentioned this but they are known for their selection of Whiskey. Now I don’t drink so this really means nothing to me and I couldn’t tell the difference between the lowest priced or the highest priced but on Wednesday nights they do a ½ priced on all Whiskey $12 or higher so if you are a Whiskey drinker, Wednesday nights are the night to go. Now only Melissa and Barb posted they would be there so it could be a small group tonight.

Now I got home a little after 5 and I started getting ready and I rushed it as I wanted to be on my way by 6 or shortly after, I figured it would only take about a half hour to get there but parking in this area is not good and it can take some time to find a place to park. It took me just under an hour to get ready and I was on my way a little after 6 and going into Portland there is no traffic so I got there by 6:30 so I had time to look for parking. Now where I normally go, I watched 4 cars in front of me turn that way so I decided to go straight and that was the right choice as there were 3 parking spots right on 23rd a block past the Whiskey Kitchen and right Infront of the parking pay station so now walking. I was going to be early which is okay. Now I didn’t think of taking a selfie before getting out of the car and that means there would be no pictures tonight as I usually don’t think about it once I meet up with my friends.

I walked the block and went inside to get a table and of course they all remembered me and asked how many we would have. I told them 3 for sure but maybe a couple extra yes, I was hoping. They got us a table right up front for 6 and told me if more showed up, they would figure it out which was nice. Now as I said we have come here many times and always treated wonderful; the last time was a little over a month ago and the waitress we had that night who we have had several times before came over and talked to me, her name is Elaine and she is wonderful. Now it turns out we were not sitting in her section so we had a young man as our waiter and he was also awesome but it was a let down not to have Elaine although she did stop by out table several times to talk to us and also said goodbye on her way out after her shift. Anyway, a little before 7 Melissa and her wife showed up and a few minutes later Barb so we had 4 of us tonight.

We ordered dinner and yes, I got the same thing I always do as it is just so good. We had a wonderful dinner and great conversation which is always a recipe for a wonderful night. as always it went way to fast and you can tell it is getting to the end of summer as by the time, we left it was dark out but it was still somewhat warm out but I know the cold weather is coming. We left and I walked the block to my car and went home. it was a little after 10 when I got home, but it was a great night out with friends.

Wednesday night dinner at Old Town Pizza

It is the last Wednesday night of May and we are going to dinner at Old Town Pizza. We have gone here many times and always have a wonderful time and we usually get a good turnout here. Now I love the Wednesday night dinners as it gives us a good chance to talk and socialize. Now today I did get home earlier so I was able to take my time getting ready which I love. now a funny side note, as I got home early, I decided to text Julie and see if she wanted to ride with me as I would have time to pick her up. So, as I was doing my makeup, I was talking into my phone to text her, I love voice texting. Now for some reason my phone was not getting what I said correct, it looked like it was foreign language so after 6 tries I gave up and decided to go the old fashion way and type the message. I would type a word in and it would mix up the letters, I thought my phone was broke but then I looked at it and it looked like German. Some how my phone language for texting got changed, took me a little while to find the settings and change it back. Somehow, I must have hot the right combination of buttons putting the phone in my pocket. I did manage to text Julie and then finished getting ready. Julie texted me back she would love that so I told her I would pick her up a little after 6.

I picked Julie up about 6:15 it really is nice to go together, 2 attractive ladies going out for the night, I know that sounds kind of corny but 10 years ago I would never imagine being able to do this. Julie is such an awesome friend and we had a nice time talking as I drove downtown Portland. We got to Old Town Pizza about 6:45 and went in, we were the first there so we put a couple tables together as we had 8 of us post we would be here. It wasn’t long and others started to show up, Melissa, Kitty, Jeanie, Barb, Michele, & Dana and I think 1 more. I really need to get back to doing my blog right after the event as my memory is not as good several days later. Well we all sat and talked for a while before we went up and ordered. They have really good pizza here and just a nice place to go and have some social time.

Now Dana is new to our group and came out to meet us, she is really nice and we had a great time getting to know her. She just moved to Portland not long ago. I really di like when we get knew girls out as I like meeting new friends. It really is hard to believe but I have more friends as Susan then in my male life even though my Susan time is a small part of my life and the friend I do have are some of my best friends, Casandra and Julie really are my best friends and I am not taking away from my other friends as they are all awesome but Julie and Cassandra probably no me better then anyone. We have done things together both in male and female rolls and I never would have thought that possible.

Our food came out and we all ate as we talked. There was a girl who worked here ad she thought we were awesome, she kept coming out and talking to us and making sure everything was good, she gave us her name and now a few days later I can’t remember it but she was so awesome. It really is nice when you meet someone like her. We had a nice dinner and wonderful conversation; these dinners really are a wonderful time to get to know each other better.

It was about 9:15 when we all called it a night so its not a real late bight out which is nice also as it is a weekday. Now again it was nice having Julie ride with me as we were able to talk more on the way back to her house. It really is wonderful to be able to share so much of my life with my friends. I dropped Julie off and then drove home, it was about 10:15 when I got home but it was such a fun night out.

Finally, a Saturday night out.

It is Saturday and I am going out finally with my friends. My plan was to go to the Escape around 6 as I use to so I posted that in our group to see if other would show up. I was really looking forward to it. I got a message from Barb, her and Melissa were thinking of going to dinner Saturday evening and wanted to know if I wanted to join them, they were going to Full Moon Thai Restaurant at 6:30. Now I am not a fan of Thai food, well I really haven’t eaten it before as I am not a spicy food type girl but I looked at there menu online and saw some things I thought I would like so I told them I would join them. Now I really like these dinners we have as it been normally a smaller group and easier to talk between us, plus it is a little quieter. I will include a few selfie’s I took tonight.

Now I have been going out a little close to home and that really is a lot different as it is on my time schedule, in other words when I am ready and get there. It has been almost two months since I went out and met my friends, Cassandra & Peggy for dinner at Mother’s Bistro. So yes, tonight I was running late as it took longer for me to get ready. I knew Barb was going to be there early so my plan was to be there by 6 or shortly after. I started getting ready at 4 and it took longer than I planned as it was 6 by the time I was ready to leave but it was okay as by my GPS it is only 20 minutes. Well there was all kinds of traffic and I was gong slow on the freeway, at times I think it would have been quicker to walk even in my heels. At one point we came to a complete stop so I texted Barb I would be late. Things started to move again and I thought I would be okay till I got to my exit. It took me 15 minutes to get off the freeway, turns out there was a blazer game tonight and it was the exit I needed. I got to the restaurant at 6:50 and was lucky to find a parking spot just around the corner.

I went in and I was the last to make it, Keren was there with her niece, Melissa and her wife, Barb, Kris and finally me. It was so wonderful to see them all again, I can’t tell you how much I have missed my friends. We chatted for a bit before we ordered and it was so nice. It really was so wonderful and great to see Keren again as she doesn’t get out much and I got to meet her Niece who is transitioning now. We had a wonderful meal and what I ordered was really good so I would recommend Full Moon Thai, the staff was also wonderful. Now as I got there late we were a little later here than I had figured as I had posted I would be at the Escape between 8 and 9 and it was about 9 when we left here. Luckily it is only about 10 minutes or less to get to the Escape from here so I got to the Escape a little after 9. Of course, there were no parking spots in the lot so it would be street parking tonight but as I has a small car I found a spot just a couple cars up from the Escape.

I got inside and Babbie was there and so was Kris, Barb showed up right after I did. The Escape war really busy and we only had half the long table we normally have but that was okay. Lura M and her girlfriend, Laura H and Max were there but they were in the other side talking. Now the Escape is a really fun place to go and the people there are wonderful and so accepting. Now tonight I had worn my little black dress which is clingy and tight and of course I had my corset under it so I really did have a nice figure tonight. A couple of the ladies here came over to tell me how pretty I looked which I always love to hear. Karaoke was going so it was kind of hard to hear when you were talking, one of the reasons I like to get here early.

When Laurie showed up, it was nice to see her again. Laura H & Laura M each sang tonight and of course they stopped by my table and we talked a little Laura H and Max got married last month so we talked about that some of course I have been following in that on her Facebook page. To my friends on Facebook, I love you all but I really want to hear about you and your life on Facebook not political stuff. Trust me, nothing you post on Facebook about the other side what ever side you are on is going to change the mind of someone on the other side. All it does is divide. It perpetuates the division and hate. I am sure if you have at least 100 friends some of them voted for the other person. I value all my friends and I accept we will not always agree on politics or religion but I will not let that come between us. As a matter of fact, at Dinner one of the girls brought up politics and I have gotten so good at this as I immediately showed Melissa my nails as I have gone back to the way I was doing them which is in my nail blog, and the conversation changed that quick. Girls it is so easy to say something without intending to offend someone as we assume everyone believes the same as we do, I think social media is the reason. Well enough of this topic and back to tonight.

One of the ladies here who always sings and I don’t think I have ever seen her here without a smile on her face got up to sing, her name is Melissa and she is really nice. A tip ladies, smile everyone looks so much better with a smile on their face. Your makeup can be perfect, your outfit perfect but a smile brings it all together. After her song she came by and said hi to me as she usually does, she had notice I had not been here for a while which really made me feel good. Well she sat down for a while and we talked. Turns out she works about a mile from where I live and at a place I have gone as my male self although it is a big place and the area she works is not the part I was in. well we talked a little longer and she asked the question all ladies hate; how old I was. I just smiled and told her older then she was at which she replied she didn’t think so as people always guess her age lower but I was still pretty sure of myself so I told her I would bet her, of course there was nothing to the bet. Turns out she is 44 so she was right as I was thinking she was in her late 30’s. well of course I won the bet as she was shocked when I told her I was 54. I guess makeup really does hide your age, that and a daily moisturizer. We talked for probably 30 minutes which was nice as up to now our conversations have been just a few minutes. I really like to get to know people better.

Now it was after 11 which is the time I leave by if not earlier but tonight we set the clocks back an hour so I get an extra hour so I was not in a hurry to leave. It was about 11:30 when Lee showed up. She joined our group and I met her I think in the early spring and she has come a long way in that time. Most of her neighbors know and even some of her co-workers, as a matter of fact she showed up here tonight with one of her co-workers, Mandie who I have met before and is really nice and one of Mandie’s friends, Marty. Both these ladies are awesome and supportive of Lee which is wonderful. It was so nice to see her again and talk with her and her friends. I had a wonderful talking with them. I lost all track of time and before I knew it, it was after 1 am, I think this is the latest Susan has been out in years but it was such a wonderful night.

I finally called it a night and said my goodbyes before leaving. By the time I got home and got in bed my clock which I had already set back an hour said 1:05 am so I really did make it till 2 am, I am so thankful for the extra hour tonight. Sorry this blog was a little longer than normal but I was just so happy to be out I didn’t want to leave anything out. That being said there were 4 men her at the Escape tonight with nail polish on, black but still polish and 3 of them had acrylic nails nicely shaped and a little long. I would love to see more men with nice nails and maybe some reds or pinks.

Thanks for reading and be sure to check out my most recent blog as I am hoping to get out more often.

Wednesday night dinner at McMenamins

Well it has been a busy couple weeks and part of it I was sick and couldn’t get out, actually didn’t feel like going out so it has been almost 2 weeks and I am really looking forward to dinner out with my friends. I am actually planning on getting there early just to have a little more Susan time. I got home from work and started getting ready right away, I wanted to get there with my computer by 5:30. It was just before 5 when I was ready to leave and took time to double check that it was McMenamines and then I packed up my computer and I was on my way. I got downtown Portland and had to drive around a little looking for a parking spot but finally found 1 right across the street and parked.

I went in and they were really busy, the busiest I have ever seen them by a long way so I got a table in the corner room and set up my computer. I then went and ordered a drink and some Scooby snacks (mini corndogs) so good. It was so wonderful to be out again, can’t tell you how much I miss it when I can’t go out. I spent the next hour on my computer catching up on e-mails and the things I didn’t do when I was sick. It was about 5:50 and I texted Melissa to let her know how busy they were. She texted back was looking for parking so I waited. It was 7 when she texted me she was here with Nicole and was wondering where was. Now this made me wonder so I quickly checked our web page and sure enough I was in the wrong place. We go to several McMenamins and I thought it was ringlers pub at the Crystal Ballroom when in fact it was the Tavern and pool hall. I had looked and just saw McMenamines and Crystal Ballroom and miss where it said not the one at Crystal Ballroom. Luckily, they are not far apart so I texted back I was on my way and quickly paid my bill and left. I got to the correct one about 7 :25 when I got there so it was fine but I felt a little silly.

Now Melissa, Nicole, Barb, and Kris were already there so I joined them and we talked for a little while before we ordered. It really was so nice to be out again with my friends. We talked a little about our web page, our cruise coming up in October and of course Diva Las Vegas, Esprit, and just where we would like to go out for dinner and if we should try to mix up the nights to see if we can get more girls out. We all ordered dinner. The food here is good although it is bar food but still a fun night out. We were just finishing up dinner and Stacy showed up so we actually had 6 tonight in all. After we paid our bills we sat and talked for a little longer. It was after 9:30 when we called it a night. It really was fun and so great to get out again.

Thanks for reading and be sure and check out my latest blog to see what is going on in my life.

Wednesday night dinner at Hobo’s downtown

It is Wednesday and our group is going to Hobo’s downtown for dinner which is a really nice place with good food. I posted in our group to see who all was going and so far, only have 2 that said yes and 2 maybes so may be a smaller group. I got home and started getting ready as I wanted to get to Hobo’s early for 2 reasons, just to make sure someone was there in case any girls showed up early and yes also to work on my blog as once again I am behind in writing them. I got done with my make by a little after 5 and was starting to get dressed when Julie texted me to see when I planed on going. I texted her back and said I was almost ready to leave and asked if she wanted me to pick her up, not that far out of my way and way more fun to go with someone then by yourself. Now years ago, it was because I just didn’t want to be out by myself but that is not the reason today. Today going out as Susan is about 2 things, being out doing normal things every other woman does but 2 and probably most important is being out with my friends. I have made some awesome close friends that are more like family and I miss when I don’t get to see them. Julie texted me that would be great so I told her I would be there in about 30 minutes and quickly finished getting dressed and was on my way.

I got to Julies house which is pretty much all finished after her remodel and she was already to go but she did take a few minutes to show me what was new and of course we got a couple pictures in her front room. It was turning out to be a fun night. Julie and I left and drove to Downtown Portland and parked just around the corner from Hobo’s, there were actually quiet a few parking spots tonight. We got to Hobo’s and went in and got a table and now we waited to see who all would show up. The table had 4 chairs but we could probably fit 6 around it if more showed up.

Barb was the first to show up followed by Kate and then Joan so we had 5 which was just perfect as we had room at the table but everyone could talk with everyone which is always nice. We talked for a bit and had some appetizers which Julie ordered, Thank Julie. Then it was time to order dinner. The food here is really good but more of a medium price range. My two favorite things here are the Chicken Parmesan which I had last time and their Prime Rib, I went with the Prime Rib tonight although I ate more of the appetizers then I should have.

Now we talked more as we waited for our food. One thing we are working on is how to get more of our group out especially the newer members. We all know how hard that first time or two out can be as we were all there at one point. I think back to the first times I went out and how scarred I was and now it is no big deal. Most of the time when I am out I am not even thinking about how I am dressed and for the most part people don’t care, I don’t even think a lot of people even notice as they are busy with what is going on in their lives. WE also talked a little about our Mexican Cruise this fall still time to sign up if you are interested. It really is fun to be out with my friends.

Our dinners finally came and we all enjoyed our food as I said they really do have good food here. We had a wonderful evening and dinner and no one ordered desert as between the appetizers and our dinners that was more then enough. Besides I really need to get serious about watching what I eat as I do want to lose some weight by our cruise which is coming up fast now. The night went by so fast as it always does and soon it was 9:30 and time to call it a night.

As we left Julie and I walked through CC Slaughters to see what was going on. It was pretty empty but we did see Dee and her partner there. Turns out they have just moved back to the Portland area so we talked with them for a little while before leaving. Now it was time to take Julie home before going home myself. It really is nice to have Julie there as we got to talk more and things are just more fun with friends along. It was a little after 10 when I dropped Julie off and headed for home. It really was a wonderful night out.

Thanks for reading and be sure and see my most recent blog to see what is new.

Wednesday out and dinner with my friends.

I had things to take care of today at home so it was almost 11 before I started getting ready. Now I know Cassandra usually goes out a little early on Wednesdays before dinner so I texted her to see when she would be out so we could meet up. She texted me back she hoped to be ready by 2:30 so that would be fun to meet up with her. Now I had to figure out how to do my makeup for the day. You see for going out to dinner with my friends I really wanted red lips but that is a bit much for the day, well you guessed it the red lipstick won. Now I did wear one of my black skirts with a grey top and my black boots with heels as I think this is really a classy work to evening look. It was 12:30 before I was ready to leave. I had about 2 hours give or take a little before Cassandra would be ready and with the red lipstick really didn’t want to go shopping. I decided to go to the Starbucks by my house, I have been to this Starbucks in the morning, late afternoon and evening but I don’t think I have ever been to this one at this time of day.

I left and headed for Starbuck, at the end of the street one of my neighbors a few houses down came around the corner in his car and with cars parked either side of the street there was only room for 1 car to go so I had to wait for him. Now I do know him by name and talk with him occasionally when we are getting our mail at the same time. As he went by he waved to me and I just waved back. I don’t know if he knows about this part of my life or not I am not sure he even really saw me or was just waving at the car but if he did look he saw long hair and red lips on the person driving. Now 1 of my neighbors knows for sure and I can not be sure if she has told anyone and with as often as I go out during the day I know other neighbors have seen at least a woman driving my car so I have to believe some if not all of them know something.

I got to Starbucks about 12:40 and again they were busy, 4 people waiting for their drinks and 3 in front of me to order and most of the tables taken. As I was standing there in line with 3 other woman the young man behind the counter looked at me and said hi Susan be right with you. Anyway, soon it was my turn and I ordered my drink, the young man complimented me on my nails which I so love so I thanked him. Now as I said they were pretty busy for a midafternoon, there were a couple seats at the counter around the corner, half the long table that seats 10 and 1 small table next to the window. I went over and put my computer on the small table and went and stood with the others waiting for our drinks. Now it was probably 75% woman here but it still amazed me bow busy they were in the midafternoon. It was also a good idea to put my computer on the table as several of the people in front of me went and sat either at the big table or the counter

I sat down and caught u on some e-mails and did a little work and just played on the internet for a while. It was just a little after 2:30 when Cassandra texted me and said she was leaving, we were going to meet at the 2nd Ave Sports bar (use to be Fox & Hounds) and spend a few hours there before dinner as we were eating at Hobo’s right around the corner. I got downtown and found the perfect parking spot right between the two of them but Cassandra texted me that they were closed. We decided to go to McMenamins Ringlers Pub instead, we have gone here for dinner a few times and it really big and very friendly. We got there and parked just a half block away. I paid for street parking but the only problem was it only had 2-hour parking and it was just a little after 3 so we would be here for at least 3+ hours which would mean remembering to come back out and pay again.

We both went inside and got a table and both set up our computers, Cassandra was doing a chatroom which she loves to do, she even turned her cam a couple times so the people could see me. I did some more work and caught up on the news mostly business news as the rest seems to be so negative. We also talked on and off. Seems Cassandra does this a lot on Wednesdays. She will get out sometimes as early as 1 and go someplace and do her chat room for a few hours before meeting the group for dinner. I really don’t understand the draw of a chatroom but then I am sure people think the same about my getting dressed as Susan just to go sit at a Starbucks for a few hours. Cassandra and I talked about it for a while and we have no answers. Some have told me I do it just so I can be watched or seen and I don’t know if that is true or not. I do know when I am out I am really not focused on how I am dressed I am just me and for that matter I am really not paying attention to them and if they are looking at me. I really think for me it is more just being able to do what any other woman does and be accepted for that.

Now we did order drinks and their pretzel appetizer, By the way as I always say drinks I just thought I would ad a note here, we both ordered pop as neither one of us drinks alcohol, actually quite a few of our groups member don’t drink alcohol so it is pretty strange the we go to so many bars. I have often told people if you told one of my male friends who doesn’t know about my dressing that you saw me in a bar dressed as a woman I honestly think they would be more shocked that you saw me in a bar. By the way the pretzel appetizer is incredible, warm salted pretzel sticks with melted cheese to dip them in.

We stayed here till 6:30 and yes, we both remembered to go out and pay for parking again. Then we drove over to Hobo’s. They were not at all busy so we had our pick of tables. We sat down and it wasn’t long and Melissa and Barb showed up. It was just the 4 of us for the evening. We all talked before ordering dinner, I had the chicken Parmesan which is really good. We had a wonderful dinner and great conversation. The night went by so fast, we finished and paid our bills. I was shocked it was almost 10 when we left, it did not seem like we had been here almost 3 hours. It really is fun to be out with my friends.

Tomorrow I have some me time as I will be out by myself and Friday I am meeting Mikaela for some shopping which will be so much fun. It will give us a chance to talk and catch up as she goes out mostly in Salem so I haven’t seen her for probably a year or more.

Thanks for reading and keep up with what’s new in Susan’s life on my most recent blog.

February 8, 2018 Posted by | Dinner out, Out and about as Susan, Starbucks | , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , | Leave a comment

Saturday and our group is going to the City Grill for dinner.

Saturday is here and it is the first fill day of my vacation. I had some things I needed to do early in the day so I couldn’t be Susan but of course I still had the red nails when I was out kind of a reminder of things to come. Now I got done with my stuff a little after noon and made a quick stop for a small burger as I was hungry but didn’t want to much as dinner will be awesome. It was about 1 when I got home and of course now I was thinking about tonight and what I would wear and how I would do my makeup and of course which hair style, all the fun things about being a female. About the only thing I was sure of at this point would be red lipstick to match my red nails. Dinner will be at the Portland City Grill which is a high-end restaurant on the 30th floor of the US Bancorp tower. Now 10 years ago when I was first working up the courage to go out to Embers which was a gay night club that did drag shows on the weekends and we never got there till it was dark out as I didn’t want to leave my house while it was light out would I have ever imagined going someplace like this as Susan. Our dinner reservations are for 6 pm.

Now I know we have 9 signed up for this and I was thinking Julies was going so I texted her to make sure as I figured I could pick her up and we could ride together instead of both of us driving there plus just more fun going with someone. She was going so I said I would pick her up at 5 to give us time incase we hit traffic. It was about 2 now and I wanted to have 2 hours to get ready as I was sure there would be some time spent picking out my dress for tonight, I plan on wearing my new corset tonight to give me that nice shape and of course trying on dresses with a corset on is not as easy. I started getting ready again something my male side would never do. I can’t imagine anything I would go to as my male self where I would need or even want to spend a couple hours getting ready. A nice long shower and then some body lotion and face moisturizer and then it was time to start my makeup. I really took my time on my makeup as I wanted it as perfect as I could, I always have trouble on my lips especially my lower lip to get both sides the same. N ow I know you really can’t see it unless you are looking really close but I always seem to notice it. Tonight, I got both sides almost perfect so I was happy. Funny the little things we focus on.

It was after 3:30 now and I was down to an hour before I wanted to leave and all that was left was to get dressed. Now with the corset I learned I need everything on accept for my dress and wig before I lace up the corset to hard to bend in corset but really gives you curves. Now I had four dresses laid out in my bed all a little heavier as to hid the corset as the goal was for people not to know, I wanted them to think the curves were mine although if you have been following my blog you would probably know I would have it on tonight. Now lacing up a corset by yourself is not the easiest thing to do especially if you are not really flexible. It takes work and time to tighten as you have to pull starting at the top going down and then pull the slack at the middle and repeat. Once you get the top half done it is time to do the bottom in the same was although easier to reach for me, here is the video they have to show you how to lace yourself in. By the way I bought my corset at Orchard Corset and would recommend them if you are looking for one. Now believe it or not it took me over 20 m minutes to get myself all laced in and I was happy with the look. Now it was time to try on dresses which is always fun. They all looked good but being heavier they didn’t fully show the shape that I was trying to get. I went back to my closet and I have a really beautiful elegant dress but is really thin material but I wanted to see how it would look with the corset so I got it out and tried it on and to my amazement you really couldn’t tell I had in a corset and you could see the shape. This was the dress for tonight. Here is a picture that was taken after dinner as we were leaving in then parking garage, yes believe it or not this was the best lighting as the restaurant is dimly lit for a romantic mood.

It was now 4:30 and I was ready to go pick Julie up. I got to Julie’s just before 5 right on Schedule. Julie was ready to go. Of course, I had to say high to Trixie, would have been nice if Trixie had gone tonight but her and Julie know a lot of people and have gone to this restaurant many times and although Julie wouldn’t be recognized Trixie would. We have several members in our group whose wives and girlfriends support them and even go out with them which is great but they are easily recognizable as they are out as themselves and then that could give away more then we want.

Julie and I were on our way a little after 5 and got downtown Portland to the building and parked in the underground parking. This was nice for two reasons it was close and we didn’t have to walk outside in the weather which was actually nice right now. But this would allow me to not cover up my dress with a wrap so everyone could see my pretty dress. As we were getting out of the car Kim was walking by so the 3 of use walked in together. We took the elevator to the 30th floor and walked in to the City grill which was very dimly lit, yes, we would be using our cell phones to read the menu. You can see from my selfie how low the lighting is. We ran into Jan, Lynn, Melissa and her wife coming off the other elevator so all seven of us walked to our table together.

Now Sandy was in town for work so she stopped by to talk with us briefly, we tried to talk her into staying but she has to drive home tonight and she lives about 3 hours north of here. It was nice to see here again and talk with her briefly. Turns out we had 12 people for dinner tonight which is really good ass we use to be happy if we could get 6 or 8 to come out on a Saturday night to a bar much less get 12 to go to a very mainstream high-end restaurant. I sat down between Kim and Jan and Cassandra Julie and Kate were across from me with Lynn on the end. At the other end of the table next to Kim was Joan and Karen and across form them were Joan (yes 2 Joan’s tonight), Melissa and her wife on the end.

Now we talked for a while as it was great to see everyone again. It was awesome to see Kim and sitting next to her I got a chance to talk with her and catch up which was really wonderful. I do love talking with my friends and I do miss them when they don’t get out much. Of course, I had to get a picture with Kim tonight. We actually took a couple of them and this was the only one that turned out good, well good of me, Kim looked great in all of them. Usually I try to slouch down to the same height so I don’t tower over the other person which in a corset you can’t do and if you try it really shows in the picture so I am just way taller than her sitting here and that is okay. You can see some of the city lights behind us through the window.

Now our waiter was awesome, he recommended items and was always there when we needed something, a lot of times without asking. One of the good things about high-end restaurants they have enough staff to make sure you have really good service. Now I was thinking of a nice steak but went with the double porkchop instead. Everyone ordered and then it was time for more pictures. It seems when we go someplace new we all think about pictures. One of the ladies who works here saw us all taking pictures and came over and took a couple pictures of out whole table. Kind of hard to see everyone as it was a long table and we all had to lean in a little, although with my sitting up so straight and tall I was able to pretty much look over Kim’s head.

Dinner came and wow my porkchop was huge, I hope I can eat it all. Some of the girls got Steak, some Salmon, a few Steak and Lobster and it all looked wonderful and it was. My Porkchop was incredible, I would highly recommend it if you go here for dinner. We had a wonderful dinner with good conversation, again the only bad thing was the size of the group as you really couldn’t talk with everyone. Although after dinner before we left I did get at least a chance to say hi to everyone one and talk with them briefly.

After dinner a couple of the girls ordered dessert to share, really, I could never have eaten a whole dessert as the size of my dinner was big and of corset the corset pulled things in. I did have a few bites of Julies desert which was incredible. Really wonderful food here. I would recommend them for a really nice dinner out, a little expensive (figure $50 to $100 each with drinks & dessert) but it really was worth it. It was a wonderful evening with awesome friends, a big thanks to Cassandra for organizing tonight. It really did go by so fast as soon it was after 9, hard to believe we have been here over 3 hours. A few of the girls left first and then the rest of us. Julie and I got down to the parking garage and of course in the light I had her take a few pictures of me in my dress, the one above, thanks Julie. There were a couple people waiting to go in and one of the girls came over and asked if we would like her to take a picture of us together and of course you know the answer to that question.

We left and I took Julie home before heading home myself. It was an incredible night out with my friends, a memory that will last. Now this blog is a lot longer than normal and I am sorry for that but if you read this far thank you. But I do my blogs not only to share with all of you but also so I can remember things I have done and the special times I have as Susan. It is a great way to document your life and weather you are trans or not I would highly recommend pictures and writing something about the special times and events in your life. It is great to go back and remember these things.

At dinner we were talking about times we have had, things we have done and Sisters we have lost. Especially Cristine who was a big part of our group, she would have loved tonight. We were trying to think when she passed away and I was able to look it up in my blog, turns out it was one year ago yesterday and we still all miss her and think of her often. I really have met some incredible friends along the way of my growing and accepting my female side and all of them have had an impact on my life, some small some huge but all very important to me.

Thanks for reading and being part of my life. Be sure and keep up with what’s new in Susan’s life on my most recent blog.

Wednesday night dinner at Deschutes brewing

It is Wednesday and the Rose City T-girls are going to Dinner at the Deschutes Brewing downtown Portland. Now I have never been here before so I was looking forward to it and planning on going. I got home at 4:30 and Julie texted me to see if I was going. I texted her back and said yes and asked if she wanted me to pick her up and ride with me. So, we will be gong together tonight. I started getting ready as I wanted to pick Julie by 6:15. I was ready a little before 6 and on my way and guess what, I was low on gas so I stopped at Costco and got gas before heading to pick Julie up. It was closer to 6:30 when I got to Julie’s.

Julie was all ready when I got there so we were on our way to meet our friends for dinner. It was a nice drive and Julie and I had a chance to talk which was nice. We got downtown and had to park 3 blocks a way which was no big deal other then being really cold out. As we walked the few blocks we talked a little about how far we have come. Not many years ago we would only go out to LGBT places like Embers (which sadly closed) & CC Slaughters and we would always park as close as we could as we didn’t want to be out side any longer than we had to. Now we go to mainstream places and what I mean by that is going anyplace we want and not worrying about if the place is LGBT friendly or the fact we are part of the LGBT. All we are thinking is we are people like everyone else going out for dinner.

We got there and yes, I was a little cold but I did wear my high heel and not my open toed heels. Melissa was already there and they were really busy, we had to wait about 20 minutes before we got a table but that was okay as we still had girls that hadn’t shown up yet. We sat on a bench by the door with others waiting for tables, just like everyone else. Barb and Kearren showed up so the five of us waited till our table was ready. Soon we were seated and just waiting for Cassandra, yes, she was going to be able to join us tonight. It really wasn’t long and Cassandra showed up. We talked for a little more before ordering dinner.

Now, our waiter was wonderful, he treated us great and with respect as really everyone we interacted with here. It is always nice to go to places that treat everyone the same and yes, we have a great city here and we really have always been treated well where ever we go. We all ordered dinner and I did get one of their hamburgers which was awesome. There were only 6 of us tonight so it was easy for all of us to talk with each other. It is one of those 2 sided choices. I really do like when we have big turnouts but it makes it hard to talk with everyone, the smaller groups are more personal and easier to talk with everyone.

We had a great dinner and then sat and talked till almost 10, yes later then I planned on being out and in the morning, I will regret it but I was having fun and out with my friend. Julie ordered a desert and I helped her eat a little, thanks Julie. It really was a wonderful night out. It was almost 10 when we left and it was a chilly walk back to the car. I still amazes me how easily I walk around the town, as a matter of fact I don’t think I really thought ab out being out as a woman tonight other than when I was doing my makeup and picking out my dress. The rest of the night I was just out as myself, being myself. Susan is just a part of who I am, she is as much a part of me as my male side, but a lot more fun.

The drive home was nice as Julie and I talked more, it was really nice. Now Julie is going out of town for a few weeks for the Holiday’s so she wont be out for a while. It was almost 11 when I got home, it will be a short night but so worth it.

Thanks for reading and keep up on what is new in my life on my most recent blog.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and please be safe.

Saturday night dinner out but first Starbuck’s

Okay it is Saturday and Julie; Kate and I are going to Dinner at Noble Rot in downtown Portland. I have never been there, well actually never even heard of it so I am looking forward to it. Julie made reservations for 3 this morning and let us know. I will pick her up between 6 & 6:15 and we will be on our way. Now I had some things I had to take care of today and I actually got done early so what is a girl to do. I decided to start getting ready a little before 3 and by 4 I was already makeup done and looking at my dress for tonight. I decided I just didn’t want to sit at home so I put on my yoga pants and a sweater top and decided to go to Starbucks for a while. Now I know my makeup is a little much for Starbuck’s but I don’t want to have to redo it before going out tonight. At least I didn’t wear the dress and heels to Starbuck’s although I am sure I would have turned some heads. Now while I was finishing getting ready I got a couple messages from a couple of our girls asking where we were going tonight so I was texting back and forth for a while to see if we could add to our reservation which Julie was able to do even though the restaurant is booked up tonight so Karen and Melissa will be joining us.

I got to Starbuck’s and went in, they are not busy which surprised me I figured on a rainy windy day what better place to go then Starbuck’s. The young man at the counter remembered me by name which always makes me feel wonderful. Even the girl who made my drink remembered me, a nice warm cup of hot chocolate which is wonderful on a day like this. It is nice to go places like this where they remember you and treat you well. Now I was at my table on my computer chatting with Karen on Facebook and texting Julie and Melissa to get everything arranged and see if Julie could add them which she was able to do, Thanks Julie for doing that and for making the reservations in the first place. Once that was done I started working on this blog which I will finish tomorrow and also caught up on some e-mails and work. I really do enjoy coming to Starbucks as Susan to do my work, so much better than sitting at home. Now I won’t stay here as long as I planned as I will have to go home and change and also charge up my phone before going out tonight. I left Starbuck’s at 5:30 and went home and changed into my dress and heels and touched up my makeup which actually held up really well. I was on my way to Julie’s by 5:45

I got to Julies and went in, she had just finished getting ready so we chatted for a few minutes before we were on our way. It was a rainy and windy night so I was glad I didn’t make the drive to Salem. Now Julie has eaten here before but I have never even heard of the place so Julie told me how to get there, we got lucky and found a parking spot right on Burnside by the restaurant, I didn’t know how lucky we were. I put my big wrap on in the car not easy to do and it covers up my pretty dress. We got out of the car and we only had to cross the side walk. I parked right in front of the door. The restaurant is on the 4th floor so we took the elevator up. It was 7 so we were just a little early but our table was ready even though they were really busy. July and I sat down and waited for the others to show up, Melissa was first followed by Karen and Kate so we were all here. Now the restaurant is dark inside I guess for the more romantic look but the bad part you really couldn’t see my dress inside either. Kind of a letdown as I really wanted to be noticed in my dress as it was really cute. The booth sat 6 with 3 on each side which was wonderful as with the small group we had we could talk with everyone. Somehow, we got on the topic of cell phones and the cameras and taking selfie’s in low light which I really do think the Samsung take the best pictures in low light. Any way I gave Karen my tip on taking a selfie. I can’t hold the phone out and push the button and get a good picture so I set the timer to 5 seconds, that way I can push the button and then hold the phone out to get the picture I want and there is still time for the camera to focus. This is a picture taken of me in the low light with no flash and remember we had to use the candles on the table to read the menus.

Our waitress came over, her name was Harmony and she was awesome, she took our drink orders and told us about their specials tonight and was just really pleasant. We got our drinks and ordered our food and then kept talking. It was so nice to be able to be in the conversations with everyone. I don’t want to sound like I want to exclude people but it was nice to have a small intimate group. One it is more like the people around us as they were all groups of 4 to 6 accept for one large group in the back. It allowed us to sit with everyone else instead of being at the big table in the back. It was just more of a normal outing. I don’t think I thought once about us being t-girls, we were just ladies out for a nice dinner. It was a great feeling

Our dinner came and it was wonderful, we all had different items and everyone loved what they had. Now the prices are above average but the food was wonderful and so was the atmosphere and the view as the booths sat by the window overlooking the city which would have been a wonderful view had it not been so dark, rainy and windy. Harmony our waitress was attentive to us and checked back on us often to see how we were doing and if we needed anything. It really was a nice dinner and I would highly recommend this place but call for reservations and try to keep your group to 4 to 6 and you will have a wonderful time.

We had a great evening and talked about so many things including of course the real important topics of the day, makeup and heels. It is amazing how fast the night went by, after dinner we had desert and that was also wonderful although I probably should cut out the deserts. I really want to lose some weight by our cruise next year so I am going to have to make some changes to my diet. We also talked about our nails which we all love. Melissa brought up an interesting thing about nails which I had never thought about. We all love having pretty long nails and she said it was the reason we can see them. Here I am all dressed up in a pretty dress, full makeup, heels and hair but I can’t see it unless I look in the mirror, our nails are in front of us and we can see them all the time and that is the feminine part we see the most. Kate was going to take a group picture of us at the table but Harmony came over and took it so we could all be in it, we didn’t even have to ask her she just offered. This is our group after dinner at Noble Rot. Kate, Melissa, Susan, Keren, & Julie. What a wonderful pretty group of ladies.

As I said it went by so fast and soon it was 10 pm and we called it a night. It was truly a wonderful night. The 5 of us and 2 men road down in the elevator together and we talked with each other including the men about dinner. It was just a normal evening out with friends. I really like going to these mainstream places where we can interact with other people. Anyone around us would see we were no different from them other than our dress. We came in, sat, had dinner and normal conversation. We weren’t loud, obnoxious or drawing attention to ourselves and that I think is a wonderful thing. We all dressed like all the other woman here and just blended in although I am sure they knew we were a little different. It was a great night and thanks to my friends for having dinner together and a big thanks to Julie who set it all up.

It was still rainy and windy outside when we left so I was glad we parked right outside the door. Julie and I talked more on the drive back to her house. It was just a fun girl’s night out. I dropped off Julie and drove home. It was about 11:30 when I got home.

Thanks for reading, link to my most recent blog so you can see what I am up to now.

Wednesday night dinner at Who Song & Larry

It is Wednesday night and I am going to dinner with my friends at Who Song & Larry’s. This is always a fun dinner place as the people here are awesome. Now dinner is at 7 but I know Cassandra is going to get there at 6 to watch the Baseball playoffs before dinner so that is my goal also. I started getting ready a little after 4 as I wanted to take my time and enjoy the experience of getting all pretty. I took my time on my makeup and actually tried 3 different dresses before I picked the one I wore, my blue with black on the sides. I also went with my dark brown wig tonight. Here is a picture in the car. I was on my way looking forward to a fun night.

I got to Who Song & Larry’s just before 6 and went in, Funny how I don’t even think about getting out of the car. Years ago, I use to sit in the car to build up the courage, now Susan is just a part of my life. And yes, Susan is a big part of my life and a big part of who I am. Cassandra was sitting at the barf watching the game so I joined her, it was nice to be out. We talked as we watched the game and waited for others to show up. Of course, we had some of their fresh made tortilla chips and bean dip. It is so good, I could make a meal out of just that and I almost did.

Melissa and her wife were the next to show up and they both noticed my hair, I don’t wear it that often wear it as I am not sure of dark hair on me but it does feel nice to have people notice when you change your hair. I guess in that way I am such a girl. Yes, I do love to look pretty. Kearren was the next to show up followed by Barb. I really love these dinners out with my friends.

It was a little after 7 when we went to our table and yes Cassandra could still watch the game across the room. I sat next to Melissa and her wife and across from Cassandra, Barb and Kearran. It is nice to have these smaller more intimate groups. Julie showed up and sat next to me. It was great to see her and of course I had to show her my nails as we both love getting our nails done. So yes, I am going to talk about my nails. N ow when I got my nails done Saturday Cathy put a light pink color on them and I was worried about them and I didn’t really come across as liking it when she did it. Now indoors the nails have a nice healthy color to it although you can tell there is polish on them. Outside in the sun they have a slight pale pink color and yes if you get a good look at them you can tell as you can see from the pictures in my last blog. The other day though I was out side in the sun and walked into the shade and wow my nails had a pinkish violate color that was really noticeable as you can see from this picture. These are the same nails one in shade and one in sun light. The funny thing is I really love this polish

and look on my nails. I wish I had paid attention to the polish she used as I want to get it the next time.

I know people will notice and probably already have but no one has said a thing. In a way I am a little disappointed but also glad at the same time. My nails really do look awesome. These are pictures of same nails one outside in shade and one inside, wow what a difference. It is funny how far I have come. Now I know some of my friends keep telling me I really want to transition and no I do not. I have no desire to be a woman full time but I do believe the two sides of me can be a part of me all the time. At the very least I am sure it will raise some questions but I do love nice looking nails. What do you think of my nails, is it too much for me as a male?

Well back to our dinner out. Our waitress came over, her name is Venessa and she was awesome, she made a point of learning all our names and called us by them all night and she had the nicest southern accent, she is from North Carolina. We all ordered dinner well I ordered from the appetizer menu as I really did eat to many chips earlier. We had a wonderful dinner and enjoyable conversation. It was a little after 8 when Bambi and Kris showed up so they ordered dinner as we were finishing but it was great they made it. So, we had 9 of us here tonight.

After dinner we just sat and talked for a while. Barb and Kearren were the first to leave and then Melissa and her wife. I was having too much fun just being out with friends that even though I had to get up early for work I stayed. Venessa a=our waitress came over a few times and talked with us. She really was wonderful and made us feel so welcome. She actually has a friend who dresses so I gave her one of my cards with my e-mail on it and told her to give it to her friend if she wanted to join our group. Also gave her one for her as Cassandra invited them to her Halloween party. I really hope she contacts me as it would be great if they came to the party.

It was after 10 when we called it a night. Julie and I are going out both Friday and Saturday night. I am looking forward to going out again this weekend. Thanks for reading
