Wednesday night dinner at Deschutes Brewery

Well it is the last Wednesday night of September and we are going to Dinner at the Deschutes Brewery in Portland. We have gone here before back in December of 2017 so it has been a while so I was looking forward to it. Now I like to take my time getting ready but it seems on Wednesday I have been getting home later as traffic is getting back more too normal and tonight was no exception. I pulled into my driveway at 5:02 pm and went into my house to get ready so it would be a quick transformation tonight. Now as I said I do like spending 1 ½ hours getting ready but I can do it quicker. The trick to getting ready faster is to know beforehand exactly how you are going to do your makeup and what you are going to wear which I had been thinking about on my way home. I did my makeup and was happy with the look and got dressed and walked out to my car and was on my way at 5:31, just 29 minutes to get ready which may be my fastest time getting ready. now I was on my way to pick up Julie.

I got to Julies house just before 6, I did get a couple pictures in the car before I went in, she was just finishing getting ready so we sat and talked for about 15 minutes before we left, I really enjoy this time. we finally left and had a nice conversation on the way. We got downtown and found a parking spot about 2 blocks away, Barb parked just a few cars back so we all walked together to Deschutes Brewery. We got there and Jennifer and Danika were already there, shortly after Claire and Trish showed up so we were all there by 7. The lady came outside and told us our table was ready so we went in and sat down. We talked for a bit till our waitress came over and took our orders, I had one of their burgers as they are really good. Now we sat and talked and had a nice time, I did get a picture with Julie.

Our food came and as always it was really good, I also had one of their house made craft root beer which is really good also. It was a really nice evening out and after diner we sat and talked as they weren’t that busy. Now Jennifer asked our waitress to take a group picture with her phone, Claire also gave her, her phone for a pictures so you guessed it I had her take one a couple with my phone. Now I did ask everyone if I could use it in my blog and they all said yes so here we all are, left to right is Danika, Jennifer, Trish, Barb, Julie, me and Claire. We stayed here till a little after 9 before we paid our bills and left. We did stand out front for a little bit and talk and decided where our next 2 Wednesday night dinners will be, I don’t remember this coming weeks on but in 2 weeks we will be at Who Song and Larry’s in Vancouver again.

We all walked towards our cars, well Claire walked home as she lives only a few blocks away. It is always sad to see the evening end. Julie and I talked as I drove her back to her house; it will be sad as Julie will be going south for the winter here in a few weeks and I will have to make these drives by myself. It was a little before 10 when I dropped Julie off and headed for home. It was a wonderful night out with my friends.

Now I am looking forward to the weekend and some Susan time, they are saying it will be a showery weekend so I am thinking of driving to the cost for the day mainly for the ride.

Stay safe and be happy and thanks for reading my blog and be sure and read my most recent blog to see what is new in my life.

Wednesday night dinner at Deschutes brewing

It is Wednesday and the Rose City T-girls are going to Dinner at the Deschutes Brewing downtown Portland. Now I have never been here before so I was looking forward to it and planning on going. I got home at 4:30 and Julie texted me to see if I was going. I texted her back and said yes and asked if she wanted me to pick her up and ride with me. So, we will be gong together tonight. I started getting ready as I wanted to pick Julie by 6:15. I was ready a little before 6 and on my way and guess what, I was low on gas so I stopped at Costco and got gas before heading to pick Julie up. It was closer to 6:30 when I got to Julie’s.

Julie was all ready when I got there so we were on our way to meet our friends for dinner. It was a nice drive and Julie and I had a chance to talk which was nice. We got downtown and had to park 3 blocks a way which was no big deal other then being really cold out. As we walked the few blocks we talked a little about how far we have come. Not many years ago we would only go out to LGBT places like Embers (which sadly closed) & CC Slaughters and we would always park as close as we could as we didn’t want to be out side any longer than we had to. Now we go to mainstream places and what I mean by that is going anyplace we want and not worrying about if the place is LGBT friendly or the fact we are part of the LGBT. All we are thinking is we are people like everyone else going out for dinner.

We got there and yes, I was a little cold but I did wear my high heel and not my open toed heels. Melissa was already there and they were really busy, we had to wait about 20 minutes before we got a table but that was okay as we still had girls that hadn’t shown up yet. We sat on a bench by the door with others waiting for tables, just like everyone else. Barb and Kearren showed up so the five of us waited till our table was ready. Soon we were seated and just waiting for Cassandra, yes, she was going to be able to join us tonight. It really wasn’t long and Cassandra showed up. We talked for a little more before ordering dinner.

Now, our waiter was wonderful, he treated us great and with respect as really everyone we interacted with here. It is always nice to go to places that treat everyone the same and yes, we have a great city here and we really have always been treated well where ever we go. We all ordered dinner and I did get one of their hamburgers which was awesome. There were only 6 of us tonight so it was easy for all of us to talk with each other. It is one of those 2 sided choices. I really do like when we have big turnouts but it makes it hard to talk with everyone, the smaller groups are more personal and easier to talk with everyone.

We had a great dinner and then sat and talked till almost 10, yes later then I planned on being out and in the morning, I will regret it but I was having fun and out with my friend. Julie ordered a desert and I helped her eat a little, thanks Julie. It really was a wonderful night out. It was almost 10 when we left and it was a chilly walk back to the car. I still amazes me how easily I walk around the town, as a matter of fact I don’t think I really thought ab out being out as a woman tonight other than when I was doing my makeup and picking out my dress. The rest of the night I was just out as myself, being myself. Susan is just a part of who I am, she is as much a part of me as my male side, but a lot more fun.

The drive home was nice as Julie and I talked more, it was really nice. Now Julie is going out of town for a few weeks for the Holiday’s so she wont be out for a while. It was almost 11 when I got home, it will be a short night but so worth it.

Thanks for reading and keep up on what is new in my life on my most recent blog.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and please be safe.
