My life as a heterosexual crossdresser.

Saturday May 19 2018 red dress party

Just a quick note, there is still time to sign up to go on our Mexican Cruise, October 13 to 20 2018. We have 28 signed up right now let’s see if we can get 30. . For more information check out our web page or contact me.

It is Saturday May 19 and tonight is the Red Dress Party, and it is going to be fun. This is I think my 4th time going and I am going with Julie and Trixie, thanks ladies for taking me. Now the red dress party is a benefit for charities and what is nice about it is it is all volunteer so you know the money raised goes to the cause. Tonight’s theme (yes, they do a theme) is Wicked. Now for me the theme is not important as I just want to be out and see all the red dresses. I started getting ready a little after 4 as I wanted to take my time, kind of like a girl getting ready for Prom. Now I thought about going shopping for a new red dress but didn’t have time so it will be a recycled red dress from last year. It was about 6:15 when I left as I was picking up Julie and Trixie at 7.

I got to Julie’s a little before 7, Trixie was ready and Julie almost ready. Julie took a little time and showed me her house as she has been doing a major remodel the last couple months. Her house really looks wonderful. Now tonight I tried my new clutch well probably more like a wallet with a wrist strap. When I was shopping a couple months ago at Sears at Lloyd Center Sears which has closed now they had everything 50% off or more and I saw this for $5 so I got it. I did make sure my phone fit in it though. Well that was all I was thinking about as tonight I discovered that with the phone in it about all that would fit in was some money, ID and credit card as it was really narrow. Well luckily, I was wearing my long wear red lipstick so I didn’t need that but there was no room for my compact in case I needed to touch my face up I guess I can go without these things for a night. Well when I got out of the car at Julies I discovered one more thing that didn’t fit in my little wallet clutch, mt car keys. Luckily Julie had a little bigger purse and so she put not only Trixie’s ID and lipstick in it by my car keys also.

It was about 7:20 when we left. Now this year it is in the down stairs of the coliseum instead of a ware house. It only took about 15 minutes to get there and we parked in the parking lot, $20 but so worth it as we didn’t have to walk far. Now the Red Dress party starts at 9pm but if you have VIP tickets you can get in at 8 which we did and even though it was not 8 yet they let us go inside. N ow it was a lot bigger then the ware house last years and also a lot nicer but then when you are getting everything donated including where you have I, you take what you can get. It was nice to walk around before it got really crowded and see what it looked like before they turned down the lights. Now the bad thing is I do know someone who works this event and I am always on the lookout for them and in the ware house I had the dim lighting to help me. I saw them a couple times and just casually went the other way. Amy way we had been here about 30 minutes and we came out of a door and there they were looking right at me. I just walked right by them and pretended not to know them. Now let me clarify, yes, I know them by name but it is from working with them but only a few days a year. I am guess if they probably didn’t recognize me and if they did it would not be by name but where they knew me from.

Now we did get some pictures tonight and of course the first was on the big red high heel shoe seat. Who says you can’t find heels in big sizes. We all took turns sitting on this and getting our picture taken. Now I will admit it is not easy to gracefully sit down on something so low with high heels on, took a little work to tuck my legs under and look at least a little feminine. I think it turned out okay though, Thanks Julie for taking such a good picture.

Wee then went into the VIP area where they had food and got something to eat, again all the food and drinks are donated so the sponsors are awesome and the food is really good. I had some pulled pork, chicken, mac & cheese with Cauliflower which was really good and of course desert. The other bad part is they had big bowls of M&M’s at all the bars where you got your drinks, I love M&M’s. I think I ate 4 bags plus split one with Trixie. I have no will power when it comes to sweets, the reason I don’t by them. This will be the big challenge when we do our Mexican Cruise this fall as from what I hear they have deserts out all the time. Julie took a few more pictures of us here at the table we ate at. You can see some of the people behind me in red dresses.

Now we did go and watch some of the entertainment, one was a group of drum players and they were really good, really loud but really good. I did plug my ears so I probably looked a little strange, hopefully the people walking around getting pictures of the crowd didn’t take a picture at that time. They also had some people from Circus Soleil that did a short show, maybe 20 minutes and it was really good. Now there were some that did dress up for the Wicked theme and they were great outfits but most 90% where just in the red dress. The point of the red dress party is to get in you must have a red dress so even those in costume had to have a red dress on, even the man and woman from Circus Soleil had red dress on.

Now the really fun part of this event is to people watch. You will see every kind of person, young, old, male, female, gay, straight and so on from all kinds of different walks of life. The only common thing is the red dress. Now it has amazed me over the years with so many people here in red dresses you don’t see the same dress twice, well sometime a couple will get matching dresses or you might see 1 or 2 but when you think they say there are over 1,000 people here each year and looking at the crowd I would say that might be low. It is hard to imagine there are that many different red dresses. Now yes some of the outfits are well let’s just say you wouldn’t ware one unless you were completely confident in how your body looks. There was one lady that had on an outfit that was way skimpier than a bikini.

We walked all over checking things out and Julie was standing waiting for Trixie and me a young lady came u to her and just started talking with her, she wanted a picture with Julie so as they were taking the picture Julie told her our trick for great selfie’s. I can’t hold the phone and push the button at the same time so what we do is set our self timer for 3 seconds. Then you can push the button and then hold the phone out and it still has time to focus before it takes the picture. Any way we talked with her for a while. She had wanted to come but something came up and she didn’t think should could and then at the very last minute she made it. Her red dress was actually a red sheet she fashioned into a dress, it was cute. Her name was Daphne and she was awesome.

Now the last few years we have ran into 2 ladies we met the first time I went to the Red Dress part named Amy and Dionne so we were kind of looking for them. They have been coming up from Northern California each year and we have gotten a picture together each year, here is one from 2 years ago blog. We didn’t see them this year, as a matter of fact we didn’t see anyone we knew until we were getting ready to leave and we ran into Marla. Well I had to have a picture with Julie tonight so I got Trixie to take one just before we left. Julie need higher heels and I need flats. Such cute girls in pretty red dresses. There were some people in high heels, and yes some were holding them in their hands as it is not easy to ware them all night long standing on a hard floor. I wore wedges and even by the end of the night I was ready to take them off. As we were walking to the car we saw a couple girls removing their heels. It is hard work being a lady.

It truly was a wonderful night and I want to thank Julie and Trixie for taking me, we stayed out later than in past years as it was almost 12:30 when I dropped them off at Julie’s house and it was about 1 am when I got home but such a fun night and so worth it.

Saturday and we leave Las Vegas to take Julie back to Palm Springs

It is Saturday and Diva Las Vegas is over for 2018 what a fun time we had but it is sad to see it come to an end. Now I was up late again last night but luckily, I didn’t have to get up as early today. I got up at 7:30 and started getting ready for the trip to Palm Springs. Cassandra and Julie were ready before me but then as they are traveling in male mode they didn’t have to do makeup. It was almost 9 when I was ready and we went down to check out. It has been a wonderful trip and everyone here at the Four Queens have been awesome. As we got off the elevator we ran in to Chris, he was the bell Hop who took our stuff up to our rooms a week ago and of course he remembered us. He asked how our golf tournament went and how we enjoyed our stay. He was so awesome. He even asked how many stayed here and told us if we could get 10 rooms we could get a group discount. He went to the counter and got us some information and a contact name to call next year.

Julie was checking out and the lady asked if she had a player’s card which she didn’t, then she told Julie she could get a discount (over 55) so Julie went and got a player’s card. Of course, Cassandra got hers out ad got the discount and she even gave it to me even though I am only 54 how awesome is this. She even used our comp dollars we had left over. I saved about $100 on my room and between the of us it was almost $500 because of the players card. Even last nights dinner we got a 2 for 1 and used some comp dollars. Really if you go to Las Vegas take advantage of the players card, tip though the smaller casinos I think are better for this as they don’t get the big gamblers so smaller gamblers are treated better. The lady who checked us out went way beyond by letting us know this as we would have paid our bills and been just as happy as we didn’t know. I can’t say enough about her. Cassandra was getting the car and another lady came out and gave me a card for the lady in charge of sales and again she thanked us for coming and told us she hoped we would be back nest year and told me to call the number and they could do a group rate all we needed was 10 rooms and it is like the cruise we are taking. Everyone books their room and just gives them the name we set up and they will all get the group rate. They really want us back next year and that is awesome.

Soon we were in the car and on our way, it was a 4-hour trip to Palm Springs. By the way here is a picture from last night of Julie and I when we played our $100 hand that I missed in my blog yesterday. It was a nice drive and we all talked about how much fun we had. We got to Palm Springs a little after 2 and it was hot, in the 90’s. Peggy and Trixie were waiting or us and it was good to see them again tomorrow Peggy, Cassandra and I will head back to Portland and Julie & Trixie will stay a couple more weeks before they come back to Portland.

We all talked and of course we told them all about our trip and they told us about all the fun they had, we were also texting pictures with them through the week so we already knew about most of what we all did. How did we survive before cell phones and texting? We had a nice afternoon.

Trixie made dinner for us, Chicken and potato’s and it was about 7 when we ate as we let it cool off a little (into the 80’s) so we could eat out on the patio. It was a really fun time. Now we were talking about our trip home and Cassandra wants to leave at 3:30am as she hast to work on Monday and doesn’t want to get home to late. I am off so I didn’t care of course to leave that early I have to get up at2:30am as it takes Susan longer to get ready. It is hard work being a lady but so worth it although I am looking forward to a few days of no Susan as my face needs a break from all these close shaves. After dinner we had some ice cream and talked a little more. It was about pm when we went to bed as it will be a short night.

It has been a wonderful trip and made all the more special with my friends, well they are more like family. I can’t imagine my life without them and I love them all. It has gone by so fast, it is hard to believe I have been Susan for 9 days straight and have had my pretty nails all that time. It will be so sad to have to go and remove the red polish and trim them back short on Tuesday which is only 3 days away.

Saturday night at Harvey’s Comedy club, once again.

It is Saturday night and our group are going to Harvey’s Comedy club. Now we have been coming here for several years till they closed last summer. It was sold and the new owners have reopened it. I was looking forward to tonight. Now we have gone here so many times but it is a fun night and it is out in a mainstream environment. I like these outings just like Starbucks as it gives us a chance to interact with everyone and let them see who we are. Now as I said it was a busy day and I didn’t get home till 6 pm so it was a rush to get ready.
What helped is I knew what I was wearing tonight and how I was going to do my makeup and as long as I didn’t change my mind I was good. The only problem was I wouldn’t have the time to relax and enjoy my getting ready. Well no changes in what I was wearing and I was all ready by 6:50 and on my way. I originally figured it would be after 8 and I would go straight to Harvey’s but as it was earlier than I thought I had time to go to Fox & Hounds and meet the other girls there first. It was almost 7:30 when I parked and walked to Fox & Hounds. Cassandra was playing pool with one of the girls and Peggy, Jan & Lynn were sitting at the bar. I joined them and we started to talk which is always fun, I love sitting around and talking with the girls. It was great to see them again and Peggy even had on a dress and heels. Melissa and Joan showed up so we had 7 of us here tonight. Now the lady working the Bar was really nice and it turns out she is one of the new owners, yes Fox & hounds was sold a few months back and they have changed the name to Second Ave Sports Bar. We talked for a while till about 8:30 before heading over to Harvey’s. Peggy and Cassandra drove and Jan & Lynn road with them and Melissa, Joan and I walked over. We could have drove but I enjoy the walk although it was a little on the cold side mainly because of the wind.

We got there not long after Cass, Peggy, Jan and Lynn did. We all sat and talked and waited for the rest of the girls to show up. Julie and Trixie were the next to show up and it was great to see them also, I so love my girlfriends. Jeanie and Cassie were the last two to show up so we had 11 of us here tonight. It started to get busy and it looks like they will have a good crowd here tonight. Now we were not sure about our table as we really know no one here now so as people got up to get in line to go in we joined them. We stood there for about 15 minutes and we even talked to the people in front of us and as they took pictures we were in the back ground. While we were in line the manager came over and welcomed us and told us it was nice to see us there and if we needed anything to let him know which was really nice and made us feel welcome.

We finally got inside and got a table, I sat between Peggy and Lynn with Julie and Trixie across from me but I was more to the middle of the table so I could almost talk with everyone which was nice. Of course, I had to get a couple pictures with a few of the girls and of course a selfie. We talked as people came in and we waited for the show. I was right there was a big crowd here tonight almost all the seats were taken. While we waited a man came over and talked with us, turned out he was one of the owners and again he welcomed us. Now I know being knew owners they are really excited and looking to grow their business but still a good feeling.

The waitress came and took our order and she was really nice, now again with new owners opening it up they have all new staff and this is only I think their 6 weekends so they are still working things out and we were used to the old staff who knew us and pretty much knew what we wanted so it is a learning curve on both sides but they did a really good job. She came back several times to check on us and made us feel welcome.

The show started and it was really good, all of the comedians were awesome, we all laughed so hard which made for a wonderful night. This really is one of the more fun events we do. Now we have a couple dinners the next few months but I am thinking we will get Harvey’s back into the schedule after the first of the year. Now the night went by way to fast as it really was an awesome show. Harvey’s is still a wonderful place to go for great comedy, if you are in Portland and want a fun night you must check them out. After the show we were standing by our table still talking as the crowd thinned out and yet another lady came up who worked here and said it was nice to see us here and thanked us for coming.

Now of course I have one other picture that I took with one of the other girls but I forgot to ask if I could post it so I cropped it down. I just loved the way my makeup looked in this picture and of course my smile. I always say a smile make you look better. An y way it was getting late and the girls started to leave. Melissa and I walked back to where we parked and it was a little colder out but still a nice walk. It was a great night out with friends. Thanks to all of you.

Thanks for reading and be sure to keep up on my what I am doing in my most recent blog.
