Wednesday night BBQ

Okay I am once again more than a week behind in posting my blogs so back in time we go. On August 14th Julie had a BBQ at her house and she invited about 20 girls over for the BBQ, what a wonderful thing to do. Now one of the nicer things was she invited some of our new members and the spouses so they could meet other spouses. We actually have a lot of members who are married or in relationships with women. I would say over half of those showing up came with a significant other. Now we will test my memory of who was there, the one bad thing about waiting so long to write my blog. Julie and Trixie of course as they hosted it. Peggy and Cassandra as Peggy helped, Kimberly. Kris, Karren, Joan, Mellissa and her wife, Patty and her girlfriend, Danika and her wife, Jennifer and her wife, Veronica, Jennie, myself and I am sure I am missing 1 or 2 as I am pretty sure we had 20 there.

Now I rushed to get there and it turns out I was one of the first ones to arrive which was nice as I got to talk with Peggy for a while. I met Peggy back in the fall of 2008 and she is so nice. She is so supportive of Cassandra and really all of us t-girls in the group. Now I don’t want to sound like I am playing favorites because all of my friends in the group are awesome and such a big part of my life but Peggy, Cassandra and Julie are really my best friends on both sides of who I am. They know both sides of me and we have done things together both as female and our male selves and that is something years ago, I would never have thought possible. I would have never thought I would tell people about both sides of me. There are a few other girls who have met my male side also.

Well with traffic it took a little while for everyone to arrive but we had a nice time visiting while we waited and of course there were all kinds of snack, Julie and Trixie really went over board on food and drinks. Julie was the grill goddess as she grilled all the steaks for everyone and did a fabulous job. Soon we were all seated at the table to eat. Now it was one long table so now you could only really talk with those around you. I got to sit between Peggy and Julie and Cassandra, Jennie and Veronica were across from me so that was really my little group I got to talk with. It was a lot of fun. Now of course I took some pictures of the group and of course I had to get a couple with our hostess Julie. It was such a fun time and went buy way to fast.

It was almost 10 when we had finished eating dinner, desert and talking and girls started to leave. We all carried some things inside but Julie would have a lot of cleanup after. We all asked if we could help but Julie said she would take care of it tomorrow. It really is so wonderful of Julie to host such an awesome event, thanks so much Julie, and Trixie and Peggy for helping. To open your home like this takes a special person.

Thanks for reading and be sure and check out my most recent blog to see what I am up to now.

Saturday evening dinner at Mother’s Bistro

It is Saturday and as I have said my time out as Susan is limited and short notice. My Dads health is not good and so I am limiting my time and also how far I go from home. Well while I was getting my pedicure and manicure this morning I got a text from Cassandra, seems here and Peggy were going out for dinner tonight at Mother’s Bistro and they wanted to know if I would be out and if I wanted to join them. Now I really had n o plans on going out tonight as the last few days my dad was not doing well, some bad days so I texted her back I would let her know after I checked on my parents. I was really excited about going out though and also seeing Peggy and Cassandra as it has been a month and the last time I saw them I was in male mode so I really wanted to go. It was about 2:30 when I got to my parents and today was a good day for my dad so that was good and also gave me the feeling I could go out tonight so I texted Cass I would meet them for dinner at 6:30.

It was about 4:30 when I got home and started getting ready. Now the only bad part is Mother’s Bistro is about 30 minutes from home and that is always in my mind. I was ready and on my way by 5:45 and got downtown Portland at 6:15 and found a parking spot a block away and walked over to Mother’s Bistro. Peggy had texted me they were looking for a parking spot so I was there first. As I waited for then to get there I got a call on my phone from where my parents are and of course I thought the worst but it turned out not to be anything about them so that was good. But this is what I am most worried about when I am out as Susan.

Peggy and Cassandra arrived and it was so awesome to see them again. I really do have some wonderful friends who are more like family and I really do miss seeing them. Now they were a little busy but Peggy had made reservations so we were shown to our table. Now this is a wonderful place, so cute inside and wonderful food the only bad part is their floors are wood and highly polished so a little slick in high heels but they always warn people of this so if you do go there be mindful of the floors if you have heels on. We talked for a while before we ordered and it was wonderful to catch up with them. We even talked about the upcoming cruise which I had to cancel. I am so sad I won’t be going with them this time but I am hopeful we will do it again in a year or two. I made them promise to send me pictures especially of Julie and Cassandra on the plane.

Our food came and it was wonderful as always, tonight I had their chicken parmesan. Now our group has come here many times over the last few years and always been treated wonderful but this was Peggy’s first time here and she loved it. We had a wonderful dinner and great conversation but the best part was being out with Cassandra and Peggy, thanks so much for inviting me. Well as we were finishing up and big group of young ladies sat down at the next table, I am guessing it was a bridal party as one lady was in a white dress and the other were in black dresses. Now as I have said before Cassandra can talk with anyone and as they sat right next to us she looked at them and said now these are some girls I need to get a picture with and then asked who the bride was. I kind of laughed at that and said it was obvious the bride was in white and her friends were all dressed in black morning her upcoming wedding. They all laughed at that. We chatted with them briefly and then went back to our conversation.

We talked a little more and then one of the girls next to Cassandra got up and as she did the bride to be was sliding over and she looked at us and asked if we wanted to get a picture with them and of course the answer was yes so Cassandra slid over next to the bride to be and I moved my chair over to there table. Now the funny thing is they also had their phones out and I think they wanted pictures with us maybe more than we did. Peggy took several pictures with or different phones including mine. These are the pictures I really love to get, out with other people who have never met us before and this may have been their first time ever meeting someone who is transgender. Now I know it is hard to tell but Cassandra and I are the 2 at the far end of the table. They were really a fun group and we talked with them a little longer.

It was a little after 8:30 when we called it a night, it was so much fun to be out again with friends I really do miss all of them. I think I am going to try really hard to make it out next Saturday if my Dad is doing okay. Now it turns out we both parked almost the same place as I was a block away almost to the corner and Peggy and Cassandra were the first car around the corner so we got to walk together and talk more. It really was sad to call the evening to an end and say our goodbyes. I hope I will get to see them again before the cruise in October but if not, I made them promise to send me pictures.

It was a little after 9 when I got home and I was ready for bed as it has been a long week but I did have to get one selfie first as I thought my makeup turned out well tonight. It really was a wonderful night and just what I needed.

Thanks for reading and be sure and see what is new on my most recent blog.

Wednesday night dinner

Just a quick note, there is still time to sign up to go on our Mexican Cruise, October 13 to 20 2018. We have 28 signed up right now let’s see if we can get 30. . For more information check out our web page or contact me.

It is Wednesday and our group is going out for dinner at McMenamines Ringlers Pub but first a side note. Today at work I was signing for a delivery and the lady making the delivery told me how nice my nails looked which made me feel good, then a few hours later I had my 6-month dental appointment and as I was checking in the young lady behind the counter told me how beautiful my nails were and asked if they were my nails or acrylic. I smiled and thanked her and told her my nails were in horrible shape and that they had acrylic on to help them look better. She said it really made a difference and they looked great. Now I have had people notice them before but it was just funny that twice in such a short time. Now I know people notice them but really very few have said anything about them. Well back to dinner tonight.

Now it was a rush to make it on time as I said earlier I had a dentist appointment at 4 and they were running late so it was about 5:30 when I got home and started getting ready. Now tonight was one of my faster times getting ready, yes, I was ready and out the door by a little after 6, might be a personal record for getting ready. I got downtown at 6:30 and found a parking spot right across the street. I got inside and Cassandra and Peggy were already there. It was wonderful to see Peggy out again and yes, she had brought aa cake as today is Cassandra’s birthday. We would have a lot of cake tonight as Melissa and I had talked about it being Cassandra’s last night for a while so we decided to get her a cake and gift card and Melissa was picking it up. Cassandra is taking a break and also stepping down from the day to day running of the group. She has put so much time and effort into the group and really made it what it is today. Now we talked and waited for others to show up.

Melissa and her wife were the next to arrive and yes, they had a big cake also, so much for my diet. Barb and Lori also showed up so we had 7 of us here tonight. Now we started off with appetizers and I ordered the Scooby Snacks and they were awesome. Scooby snacks are mini corndogs. We had a nice time chatting before we ordered dinner and for dinner I had a Caesar salad. I figured I should have something healthy before we had cake. Now our waitress was incredible tonight, well really, we have always been treated great here but our waitress was so much fun, she even took a few group pictures of us with Cassandra in the middle as tonight it really was all about Cassandra. She really has brought us all together into almost a family. It really will be different with her not coming out as much. I have made so many wonderful friends over the years and some of them are my closest friends, I really hope they know how much they mean to me.

Thanks for reading and be sure and keep up with what is new in Susan’s life on my most recent blog.

Sunday and the drive home from Palm Springs to Portland

Well it is Sunday and we are driving hoe from Palm Springs to Portland as our wonderful vacation comes to an end. It really is sad as I know my days with my pretty nails are coming to an end. I got up at 2:30am to start getting ready, shower and full makeup all to become Susan for the ride home. Now I have gotten this question a lot why I would want to do all that do the makeup just to spend 16 hours in a car on a drive home. That is a good question and the only thing I can say is it is art of being Susan. When I first went to Diva Lasa Vegas in 2010 I decided I would be Susan, be female for the whole trip start to finish and in all my trips to Diva Las Vegas I have spent the whole trips as Susan. The only thing I take that is from my male life is my drivers license and a male credit card that matches my female credit card just in case I have an issue. This may not make sense to most butt for 12 days straight I am totally Susan, totally female. Now before you say anything no this is not leading up to me transitioning I am happy how I am in my life but for those 12 days I live as a female. That means always dressing as Susan and unfortunately for me I cannot go without makeup as I would look horrible so in this way I am at a disadvantage to females who can skip makeup and look fine. And so, I get up early and do my makeup just to ride in the car as at some point on a 16 hour drive I will have to get out of the car and then I will look my best. Now I will say I am not as fast or excited on day 11 at 2:30am getting ready as I was on the first day of the trip as it really is a lot of work to be female and look good.

I was all ready by 3:30am and Peggy, Cassandra and I were on our way. It is amazing how many cars are on the road in Palm Springs on a Sunday morning at this time. Now I did sleep a little early here and there till the sun came up but I was still tired as it has been a long, busy and fun week. I am so glad I have a couple more days off, one to rest and also to keep my nails a little longer.

We had a good drive home, Cassandra drove the whole way and I got to ride like a princess. We did stop a few times for food, gas and bathroom breaks and I got out of the car without a second thought about anything. I really wasn’t even thinking about how I looked well other than making sure my makeup was fine and not shiny. Really looking back on the whole week, I really didn’t think about being Susan or female other than when I dressed or touched up my makeup. When I was out or at the Blackjack table I was just me now yes when I bet or saw my hands I saw the pretty nails and every once in a while, my hair got in my face but I was just me. Several years back all I was thinking about when I was out, was how I was dressed, that I was out as a female. There was that excitement, fear, now I am just me and that really is a wonderful feeling. Sometimes I do miss the excitement I felt but the fact I will go any place now as Susan is a far better experience.

It was a beautiful drive home, sunshine all the way. Now this is the 7 time I have gone to Diva Las Vegas and only once I went by myself, way more fun going with Cassandra, Julie and Peggy. But if you think about it 16 hours down and 16 hours back and then the times we went through LA I figure over the last 10 years I have spent about 250 hours in a car as Susan with Cassandra. It has really given us a chance to talk and get to know each other. Susan really is a lucky lady to have such wonderful friends.

It was about 8pm when we got to Cassandra and Peggy’s house. We unloaded the car which trust me it is way easier to unload then load as it took some work to get everything in just right so we had room for all 3 of us, ladies do not travel light. My male self could have made this trip with one suitcase but Susan needed 2 big ones and a small duffle bag with makeup and changes for on the way down and back. Susan had 8 pairs of shoes with her and believe it or not I did not have the most luggage. But as a lady you never know what you might need. I also took 14 dresses (only wore 5 of them). One of the fun things of being Susan.

Once on packed I got my stuff in my car and said my goodbyes. It is sad as I have spent some wonderful time with Cassandra and Peggy over the week and I was on my way home. I got home a little after 9 and on packed all my stuff and now I make the Diva Las Vegas vacation over. All that is left is a day and a half of Susan time at home till Tuesday afternoon when I will get my nails done and then back to my male life and the first male clothes I will have put on in 12 days. From past experiences the shoes will feel heavy and the clothes ruff and boring but such is life.

Now I had to answer the big question I had, how did I do gambling. My goal is to have fun and hopefully break even, if I do that it was a good vacation. Well I counted all my money and I had $62 more than I left home with which may not seem like a lot but I spent about $200 in cash on food, golf and the Dam Tour and another $225 for my share of the gas down and back which means I won almost $500 at the tables over the week, Susan had fun.

Thanks for reading my blogs and following my Journey as Susan. Be sure and see what’s new on my most recent blog and catch up on any of my blogs you missed from Diva Las Vegas 2018.

Here is a picture from my trip.

Saturday and we leave Las Vegas to take Julie back to Palm Springs

It is Saturday and Diva Las Vegas is over for 2018 what a fun time we had but it is sad to see it come to an end. Now I was up late again last night but luckily, I didn’t have to get up as early today. I got up at 7:30 and started getting ready for the trip to Palm Springs. Cassandra and Julie were ready before me but then as they are traveling in male mode they didn’t have to do makeup. It was almost 9 when I was ready and we went down to check out. It has been a wonderful trip and everyone here at the Four Queens have been awesome. As we got off the elevator we ran in to Chris, he was the bell Hop who took our stuff up to our rooms a week ago and of course he remembered us. He asked how our golf tournament went and how we enjoyed our stay. He was so awesome. He even asked how many stayed here and told us if we could get 10 rooms we could get a group discount. He went to the counter and got us some information and a contact name to call next year.

Julie was checking out and the lady asked if she had a player’s card which she didn’t, then she told Julie she could get a discount (over 55) so Julie went and got a player’s card. Of course, Cassandra got hers out ad got the discount and she even gave it to me even though I am only 54 how awesome is this. She even used our comp dollars we had left over. I saved about $100 on my room and between the of us it was almost $500 because of the players card. Even last nights dinner we got a 2 for 1 and used some comp dollars. Really if you go to Las Vegas take advantage of the players card, tip though the smaller casinos I think are better for this as they don’t get the big gamblers so smaller gamblers are treated better. The lady who checked us out went way beyond by letting us know this as we would have paid our bills and been just as happy as we didn’t know. I can’t say enough about her. Cassandra was getting the car and another lady came out and gave me a card for the lady in charge of sales and again she thanked us for coming and told us she hoped we would be back nest year and told me to call the number and they could do a group rate all we needed was 10 rooms and it is like the cruise we are taking. Everyone books their room and just gives them the name we set up and they will all get the group rate. They really want us back next year and that is awesome.

Soon we were in the car and on our way, it was a 4-hour trip to Palm Springs. By the way here is a picture from last night of Julie and I when we played our $100 hand that I missed in my blog yesterday. It was a nice drive and we all talked about how much fun we had. We got to Palm Springs a little after 2 and it was hot, in the 90’s. Peggy and Trixie were waiting or us and it was good to see them again tomorrow Peggy, Cassandra and I will head back to Portland and Julie & Trixie will stay a couple more weeks before they come back to Portland.

We all talked and of course we told them all about our trip and they told us about all the fun they had, we were also texting pictures with them through the week so we already knew about most of what we all did. How did we survive before cell phones and texting? We had a nice afternoon.

Trixie made dinner for us, Chicken and potato’s and it was about 7 when we ate as we let it cool off a little (into the 80’s) so we could eat out on the patio. It was a really fun time. Now we were talking about our trip home and Cassandra wants to leave at 3:30am as she hast to work on Monday and doesn’t want to get home to late. I am off so I didn’t care of course to leave that early I have to get up at2:30am as it takes Susan longer to get ready. It is hard work being a lady but so worth it although I am looking forward to a few days of no Susan as my face needs a break from all these close shaves. After dinner we had some ice cream and talked a little more. It was about pm when we went to bed as it will be a short night.

It has been a wonderful trip and made all the more special with my friends, well they are more like family. I can’t imagine my life without them and I love them all. It has gone by so fast, it is hard to believe I have been Susan for 9 days straight and have had my pretty nails all that time. It will be so sad to have to go and remove the red polish and trim them back short on Tuesday which is only 3 days away.

Thanks for reading and be sure to see what’s new in Susan’s life on my most recent blog and be sure if you missed any of my blogs from Diva Las Vegas 2018 go back and read them.

Tuesday out, going to meet up with Peggy for some shopping

Okay Tuesday morning I got up a little later after all this is my vacation. Peggy and I are going to meet at Clackamas Town Center at 2 so I do have some time before we meet. I got all ready and was on my way, I got to Clackamas about 10:30 and decided to go to the Promenade across the street mainly because I wanted to go to the Nordstrom’s Rack and look at purses and shoes and yes, I am using my new purse today to see how it works. So far, I am liking it, there are things I don’t like about it but a lot more things I like and I think it is just a matter of getting use to something new. My first stop was Nordstrom Rack and they had a nice selection of purses but none in the style I am looking for, very few black ones and the ones they did have were either small or huge so I headed back to the shoe section where they actually have a nice selection up to size 12. Now I am a size 10 to 11 depending on the toe width. Now to my surprise there were 4 other women in this size section looking for shoes and yes even 1 man. I had to wonder to myself if he was looking for himself. I looked around for a while and even tried on several pairs. I found 1 ankle boot that fit but it had the long pointy toe which I am not a fan of, I think they make my feet look bigger.

I also walked down to Kohls and looked around for a bit and also stopped in beauty first to look around but this is more of a beauty salon so I didn’t stay long. I then walked down to Target and looked around for a while. It is funny as I have come here before and shopped all these stores but I would always park as close as I could to the door, go in and then drive through the parking lot to the next one. Now I just walk between them and leave my car parked. It was now after 12 and I am meeting Peggy at 2 at Nordstrom’s in the mall so I figured I would drive over to the mall as there is a Starbucks there and get a drink and a snack as I haven’t eaten yet today. By the way wearing a corset helps you cut down on what you eat, yesterday I had my lunch at the mall and never thought about eating as I wasn’t hungry, at least till I took off the corset last night. I may actually loose a little weight this week. I am also not wearing the corset today 12 hours yesterday was enough so taking a break.

Now the Starbucks is right inside the main entrance and of course parking I bad there so I had to park way out and walk in. as I got close I saw the Sprint store which is where I have my cell phone through. I have had my current phone and plan now for almost 3 years (in May) so I am interested in what they have to offer and of course a new phone. I decided to go in and talk to them as Susan of course I kept it general and didn’t tell them I was a current customer. Now there were two girls working and one had on this beautiful red lipstick of which I just had to compliment her on as you don’t see a lot of woman wear red lipstick. Anyway, the other girl helped me and she was very nice and gave me all the information I wanted. I am planning upgrading my plan and getting a new phone as it appears I might even save just a little money each month or at least be cost neutral. The question is do I do it today as Susan or come back later as my male self. Well I have all day to think about it plus I will be here again on Friday with Mikaela.

Now the Starbucks was right next to the sprint store so I went in and got a snack and killed some time till it was time to go meat Peggy. I met Peggy just before 2 and it was great to see her, always more fun to be out with someone else as you have someone to talk with. Now for the first 30 minutes we just kind of wandered the mall talking and catching up, Peggy told me about her vacation she just got back from. It was very enjoyable.

Once we had caught up we went to Nordstrom’s as Peggy was looking for a lipstick and I needed more foundation, I really like the MAC Studio fix. I can use regular foundations if it is for a few hours but if I am going to be out any length of time the MAC just holds up better. The lady that helped us was awesome, her name was Sandra. She helped Peggy find just the right lipstick for her and also a blush and then of course got my foundation which I already knew what I wanted. She then told us they were doing a makeup event March 4 to 10th and asked if we wanted to come in for a makeover. This really sounds fun and I am thinking about it I just couldn’t commit this far out. She gave each of us her card with the dates on it and told us she would be there on the 9th & 10th if we wanted to schedule with her or any of the girls could do our makeup.

We checked out a few more stores before going for a mid afternoon lunch, we went to the Cheesecake Factory. Now we were good and both ordered salads. We had a wonderful lunch and again sat there talking, our waiter by the way was awesome and checked back on us regular to see how we were doing. After we finished we sat and talked some more, it was a wonderful time. It was about 4:30 when we left and went back into the mall, we decided to check out a few more stores because if we left now we would both be caught in rush hour traffic so why not shop a little more and let traffic die down.

Peggy found a really cute pinkish dress and some really cute sparkly tennis shoes, I was just having fun looking around. The funny thing is she was also looking for things for Cassandra. We spent about another hour in the mall before heading for our cars. It was about 5:30 and we would still have traffic but hopefully not as bad. We actually parked only a few cars apart. Hopefully I will see Peggy again in a few weeks when we go to Harvey’s Comedy Club, Julie Scoggins is coming and she is one of our favorite comedians. Now believe it or not on my way home I hit no traffic so I was home by 6 well not quite as I stopped at the Starbucks by my house for a little while. It really is funny as I never thing or go to Starbucks if I am not Susan. I think I have only gone here maybe 4 times as my male self and 3 of those were time I was on vacation and had my nails painted, Starbucks is defiantly a Susan outing.

Now there were about 10 people here at the table next to me was 3 ladies and 2 men and I noticed one of the girls kept glancing over at me. N ow the interesting thing is as she would glance at me there seemed to be something familiar about her. Now I am pretty sure I don’t know her and it was just the fact she was looking at me that made me feel this was. I stayed here till about 7:30 but I was a little hungry and I was trying to figure out what I wanted to eat.

Now they opened a Domino’s pizza a few blocks away and I have gone there 3 times over the last 3 to 4 weeks and I liked the idea of going in there as Susan just to see. Now they do ask for a phone number when you order so that was my only concern. Now I have herd you can get a phone number from Google for free to link with your own number. Well a quick search and I found google voice. Just to see what would happen I selected a phone number and wow, it was attached to my account and linked to my cell phone. I can send and receive text messages make calls and if I want have them forwarded to my cell phone.

I got to Domino’s and went in, now there are about 7 people working here and 2 of them one female and one male have been there each time I have been there. I ordered my pizza and gave them my new google phone number. About 10 minutes later out came my Pizza and the girl said here you are Susan have a good night and I was on my way home. It has been a wonderful day. Thanks Peggy for going shopping with me.

Thanks for reading and keep up on my life with my most recent blog

Saturday night at Harvey’s Comedy club, once again.

It is Saturday night and our group are going to Harvey’s Comedy club. Now we have been coming here for several years till they closed last summer. It was sold and the new owners have reopened it. I was looking forward to tonight. Now we have gone here so many times but it is a fun night and it is out in a mainstream environment. I like these outings just like Starbucks as it gives us a chance to interact with everyone and let them see who we are. Now as I said it was a busy day and I didn’t get home till 6 pm so it was a rush to get ready.
What helped is I knew what I was wearing tonight and how I was going to do my makeup and as long as I didn’t change my mind I was good. The only problem was I wouldn’t have the time to relax and enjoy my getting ready. Well no changes in what I was wearing and I was all ready by 6:50 and on my way. I originally figured it would be after 8 and I would go straight to Harvey’s but as it was earlier than I thought I had time to go to Fox & Hounds and meet the other girls there first. It was almost 7:30 when I parked and walked to Fox & Hounds. Cassandra was playing pool with one of the girls and Peggy, Jan & Lynn were sitting at the bar. I joined them and we started to talk which is always fun, I love sitting around and talking with the girls. It was great to see them again and Peggy even had on a dress and heels. Melissa and Joan showed up so we had 7 of us here tonight. Now the lady working the Bar was really nice and it turns out she is one of the new owners, yes Fox & hounds was sold a few months back and they have changed the name to Second Ave Sports Bar. We talked for a while till about 8:30 before heading over to Harvey’s. Peggy and Cassandra drove and Jan & Lynn road with them and Melissa, Joan and I walked over. We could have drove but I enjoy the walk although it was a little on the cold side mainly because of the wind.

We got there not long after Cass, Peggy, Jan and Lynn did. We all sat and talked and waited for the rest of the girls to show up. Julie and Trixie were the next to show up and it was great to see them also, I so love my girlfriends. Jeanie and Cassie were the last two to show up so we had 11 of us here tonight. It started to get busy and it looks like they will have a good crowd here tonight. Now we were not sure about our table as we really know no one here now so as people got up to get in line to go in we joined them. We stood there for about 15 minutes and we even talked to the people in front of us and as they took pictures we were in the back ground. While we were in line the manager came over and welcomed us and told us it was nice to see us there and if we needed anything to let him know which was really nice and made us feel welcome.

We finally got inside and got a table, I sat between Peggy and Lynn with Julie and Trixie across from me but I was more to the middle of the table so I could almost talk with everyone which was nice. Of course, I had to get a couple pictures with a few of the girls and of course a selfie. We talked as people came in and we waited for the show. I was right there was a big crowd here tonight almost all the seats were taken. While we waited a man came over and talked with us, turned out he was one of the owners and again he welcomed us. Now I know being knew owners they are really excited and looking to grow their business but still a good feeling.

The waitress came and took our order and she was really nice, now again with new owners opening it up they have all new staff and this is only I think their 6 weekends so they are still working things out and we were used to the old staff who knew us and pretty much knew what we wanted so it is a learning curve on both sides but they did a really good job. She came back several times to check on us and made us feel welcome.

The show started and it was really good, all of the comedians were awesome, we all laughed so hard which made for a wonderful night. This really is one of the more fun events we do. Now we have a couple dinners the next few months but I am thinking we will get Harvey’s back into the schedule after the first of the year. Now the night went by way to fast as it really was an awesome show. Harvey’s is still a wonderful place to go for great comedy, if you are in Portland and want a fun night you must check them out. After the show we were standing by our table still talking as the crowd thinned out and yet another lady came up who worked here and said it was nice to see us here and thanked us for coming.

Now of course I have one other picture that I took with one of the other girls but I forgot to ask if I could post it so I cropped it down. I just loved the way my makeup looked in this picture and of course my smile. I always say a smile make you look better. An y way it was getting late and the girls started to leave. Melissa and I walked back to where we parked and it was a little colder out but still a nice walk. It was a great night out with friends. Thanks to all of you.

Thanks for reading and be sure to keep up on my what I am doing in my most recent blog.

Halloween 2017 one word, awesome

Halloween is here, I have always loved this holiday. Tonight, we are doing our groups Halloween Party and once again Cassandra and Peggy are wonderful enough to open their home and put on the party for all of us. Now I did take time Friday night to run out and look for a costume with no luck, they were pretty picked over and the one I found that said ex large well I sure don’t think it was. So, I gave up and decided to go with my Wonder Woman Costume. I really love this costume as it was the first female costume I ever bought. I dug it out and tried it on and well let’s just say Susan will be going on a diet. I couldn’t quite fit into it so on to my next choice which was my belly dancer costume. Good thing I checked as I needed to do my makeup different for the belly dancer. See I wear my black hair with this costume and for that I need darker makeup.

I spent almost 2 hours getting ready today as I wanted to take my time and enjoy myself. I was all ready by 5:20 and on my way. It takes between 45 minutes and an hour to get to Cassandra & Peggy’s house depending on traffic. Now the thing that went through my mind was what if I get a flat tire. I would look so cute alongside the road changing a tire in this costume. I got to their house a little after 6 and of course I had to get a couple pictures of my makeup before I went in, selfie time. I went in and only a couple people were there so far as the party doesn’t start till 7. Jan and Lynn were there along with Veronica so I got a chance to talk with them as Cassandra and Peggy were still upstairs getting ready. By the way the house looked awesome, Peggy always does such a wonderful job decorating and puts a lot of time and thought into it.

Peggy and Cassandra came down and it was time to start putting out the food so we all helped. One of the reasons I came early. Besides it was fun to be bringing food out in my costume. Peggy had cards everywhere with what dish went where, as I said she puts a lot of thought and effort into this party. The food was awesome and so much of it. It didn’t matter where you were in the house there was a table nearby with something on it, from candy, brownies, chips and dip, deli meat cheese and crackers to cooked food and shrimp. They had enough food for 100 people I bet.

Tereasa and Dan were the next to show up and of course I started to get pictures as I knew there would be some wonderful costumes. Of course, I had to get a few of me in my costume also. Yes, there is not much to this costume and as skimpy as it looks from the front there is even less in the back. Now more people started to show up as it was now after 7 and I knew we would have a good turnout. I was still trying to get pictures of everyone so I can post them to the group but as the evening went on it got harder to do in the crowd. I also kept my camera with me all the time tucked in top, last party I kept setting it down and then ended up leaving without it and having to go back. Melissa and her wife were next, they had great costumes and Melissa was hard to recognize as she had blonde hair tonight as she was Alice in Wonderland. Kate showed up next and she didn’t recognize me at first either, the black hair. It really is amazing how different hair style and color can change how you look. One more picture with my vail on which I could not wear for long. And of course, belly dancers are bare foot so tonight I was not as tall which was nice. Kate had a really cute costume also and talking with her I think she had a lot of fun out shopping for it as I think it was her first female costume.

Julie and Trixie also showed up dressed as nurses. They had really cute costumes also. There were lots of people here now and everyone was trying to get pictures. Pictures of the costumes, pictures of themselves and picture with other people. This is such a fun night to get pictures. So of course, I had to get one with Julie and Kate, oh and that is Roxy also. Chris and Roxy were also here which was nice as I have not seen them in a long while as I have not been able to get to Sweet Home on Friday night. We make such a cute group.

Cindy and her wife Alice were also here, Bobbie, Sophia, Kimberly, Bobbi, and Kim and so many more. If I miss you by name I am sorry. I got to talk with Bobbi for a while, she is doing wonderful and it was good to see her as it has been a long time. That is one of the great things about parties like this as so many people show up and you can work your way around the room and try to talk with everyone. Of course, in the main room the TV was on with the world series, some were just sitting and watching it and others like me would just cycle through the room enough to catch the score. By the way the Dodgers won and tied the series which mad Cassandra so happy.

There were also some new girls here tonight which was nice as we got a chance to meet them. Charlene and her wife were also here, they are not members of our group yet but I am hoping they will join. They don’t live in the area but travel through a few times each year. Charlene met me through this blog and contacted me and we have kept in touch so when she said she would be in town this weekend I told her she had to come to the party. It was great to see her again and talk with her. She doesn’t dress at home but when they travel she lives as Charlene all the time. Kind of like I do when I go to Diva Las Vegas although they have been traveling for a few months so she gets to be Charlene for a long longer stretch then I get to be Susan.

Now with all the food around I ate way too much which is easy to do as I didn’t get a plate full and eat. I was just nibbling as I walked around and yes way too much candy and Brownies. Peggy made the best brownies. It is way too easy to just keep eating when there is so much food all around and of course this girl has no will power. Michelle and Christy also showed up and I almost didn’t recognize them. It was so wonderful to see them again. Christy lives here in Portland but Michelle moved down to San Francisco several years back so it is always a treat to see them and they always have the best costume. Got to talk worth them some but not as much as I would have liked which was the same for most as people were moving around trying to see everyone’s costume and talk with everyone. Victoria and her girlfriend were also here and I got to talk to them just briefly, she is one of our newer members. As I said it was hard to talk with everyone and I didn’t get a chance to talk with some of the people as much as I wanted. Would have like to have talked with Kim, Chris, Roxy and Veronica more and a few others but the night went by so fast.

Okay I have to include one picture of the inside of the house and the decorations just to show how much effort and time Peggy put into this party. The whole house was decorated just as much as this room. Wow what a job getting ready.

Charlene and her wife left but it was great they could make it. I encouraged her to join our group so she will know where and when we are going places but she can always contact me directly also. Maybe next time we can get together at Starbucks. It is amazing how fast the night went by. Cassandra had prizes for best costumes, and a variety of other prizes which she paid for herself. Cassandra and Peggy put so much of themselves into this party, not just the cost but everything including cleaning up and taking all these wonderful decorations down. We really can’t thank them enough and I hope they know how much we all appreciate this.

Okay I have to share a cute story Peggy told me. She was getting her nails done today with the lady who always does her nails and asked her to do her makeup for the party which was awesome. Any way she got taking with her and told her about the party when she asked what her husband was going as. Peggy pause and then told her before she told her that she had something else to tell her first and with that she explained about the party for the Rose City T-girls, about Cassandra and the rest of us. Peggy said she was fine with it and of course that was most of the conversation while she was getting her nails and makeup done.

It was hard to leave but it was after 11:30 and I still had a 45-minute drive home. It took me another 10 to 15 minutes to go around and tell everyone goodbye and of course hugs for all. I think that is one of the things I love the most about being Susan, woman great each other with hugs and never think anything about it and I love that. I think the world would be so much better if everyone got hugs. It just makes you feel so good. I got out to my car and Victoria was just showing up so I got a hug from her and talked with her for a few minutes. She does transformations for t-girls so tonight was one of her busier night. It was nice to see her though before I left. The drive home was easy but I decided to stop at the gas station by my house. There were 3 other cars there, 2 men and 1 woman getting gas. So, I got out of my car and pumped my gas in my skimpy belly dancer outfit. It was 12:30 by the time I got home, what a wonderful night it was.

Thanks again Cassandra and Peggy you two are awesome. And thanks to all who showed up it was great to see all of you.

Thanks for reading and have a Happy Halloween.

Cristine celebration of life

Tonight Saturday February  11, 2017 our group is having a celebration of life for our dear friend Cristine who passed away on February 2 2017. She has been one of our groups longest and supportive members over the last 10 years. It will be hard but we want tonight to be a celebration for her. Cassandra and Peggy are hosting it at their home which so wonderful of them, thanks so much.

Now the celebration is from 7 to 11 but I was going to get there early to see if I can help Peggy and Cassandra set up. Now I started getting ready early so I could be on my way by 5. I got there just about 6 Peggy was finishing up getting everything out and Cassandra and Veronica were all ready. Now I am not even going to try and name everyone here tonight as we had over 30 show up to remember and celebrate Cristine life. NO I did walk around and 20170211_190449take pictures as I wanted to make sure and get a picture of everyone who was there, I did miss several people though so hopefully Cassandra got the as she was also taking pictures. I set my phone on a shelf in the dining room so I could get it easy when I saw new people come in. Now I did manage to get one selfie of myself.

Now by 7 there were a lot of people who had showed up but people would be coming all evening long, some came early and left and others later it was really wonderful to see so many friends here and even some of Bobbie’s family showed up t support him which was wonderful.

Now the food that Peggy and Cassandra had was wonderful, all finger type food, chips, dips, meat balls and of course wonderful cupcakes and brownies. It was awesome and of course I did eat more than I should have especially the desserts. Yes I have a weakness for sweets.

Now Cassandra had a bunch of pictures of Cristine on her TV, 100’s of pictures of her and of course pictures of her with us her family. In a way it was like she was with us all night long. I kept finding myself watching the pictures of her and there were a few time I got a little choked up but we didn’t want this to be a sad event.

I did get to talk with everyone here at one point or another so it was a good night. Even got to meet a few new girls that Victoria brought out. One of them Michelle will be going to Diva Las Vegas, her first time so I will see her again there. By the way we booked our rooms for Diva Las Vegas, we will be staying at the California Hotel Casino in Downtown Las Vegas, it is one of the Boyd Gaming casinos. They have 3 hotel casinos downtown. One of the things if you go to Las Vegas get a players card if you gamble as you do get some good comps. There were lots of Pictures of Cristine when we were in Las Vegas in years past for Diva Las Vegas. We really did share some wonderful times over the years, so many wonderful memories. Even though she is gone from this world she will always be with us in our hears and memories.

By 11 people were leaving and we were down to a smaller group about 15 and we were standing in the kitchen talking about all the wonderful times we had with her. I had planed on leaving at 11 but I just couldn’t bring myself to leave. I really wanted to be with my friends tonight. It will make for a short night but it is worth it. We talked for over an hour. I was looking through the pictures from last night and decided to try and list everyone I can that was there, Veronica, Bambi, Kris, Cassie, Kim, Peggy, Cassandra, Cindy and her wife Alice, Teresa, Laura M, Laura H, Lisa, Bobbie, his Sister and Partner, brother and his wife, A couple of his friends, Chris, Roxy, Melissa, Sophie and her wife Lorna, Barb, Kate, Michelle, Jan, Lynn, Marla and her girlfriend, Jamie and her girlfriend, Amber, Shadow, Victoria and a couple of t-girls she brought out for the night, and I am sure I have missed some. Thanks to all who showed up tonight, Cristine would have loved it.

It was 12:15 when I called it a night, I have a 45 minute drive home so it will be about 1 am when I get home which is the latest I have been up in a long time. On the drive home I had a chance to reflect on the evening, I was thinking about the times I had been out with Cristine and even though it would be late when I got home I was going to post the pictures of the night on our groups Facebook page. it is funny as I was about half way home when I was thinking about the pictures when I realized I had left my phone with all the pictures on the shelf at the party so I had to turn around and head back and hope Cassandra was still up. That is the one bad thing about cell phones as if you lose the or just leave them someplace you are really cut off. I couldn’t even call and let them know I was on my way back.

It was about 12:50 when I got back and luckily Cassandra and Veronica were still up cleaning the kitchen of course Cassandra had cleaned up and was back to her male self. I didn’t stay long just enough to get my phone. I was so glad they were still up and I didn’t have to wake them up to get my phone. This is the first time I have left my phone someplace, not a good feeling. Needless to say it was after 1:30 am when I got home so it really was a late night. The pictures will have to wait till Sunday now as I needed to get to bed.

Thanks to Cassandra and Peggy for hosting such a wonderful event and opening their home to us all. and also for all those who showed up for Cristine.

Relaxing and fun Saturday for Susan

Well today is Saturday and I have been looking forward to today for weeks. I am getting a pedicure today at 3 and going to Harvey’s Comedy Club tonight so I also thought I would go out early and maybe do some shopping or find a Starbucks for an hour or two first. Awesome plans but as always things don’t always work out as planned. By that I mean I was running late as things kept coming up and before I knew it, it was after 2 and I finally ready. Now I was meeting Peggy for pedicures at 3, I left my house at 2:10 and the Nail salon, Glamorous Nails (17475 Sw Farmington Rd. Aloha (503) 848-8259) is a 45 minute drive so I had just enough time to get there as long as I didn’t hit traffic so no shopping today.

I have been looking forward to getting g a pedicure for a long time; my last one was last fall. They are so relaxing if you have never had one you really need to try it. Well I got there just before 3 and Peggy was just pulling in. well we went in and they were busy, there were 5 women all getting pedicures so we had to wait a little. It is a good thing we made an appointment. Peggy and I went over and looked at the nail polish and picked out our colors. Now I love red and almost always choose a red color but being summer I picked a color called “That’s Berry Daring” which I thought would be a good summer color. Well it was a little after 3 when we got in the chairs and the one lady started on Peggy’s feet but the lady doing mine was still finishing up another lady so I just sat and soaked my feet for a few more minutes.

She finally finished and came over to me and said she was sorry I had to wait which really was no big deal. She has done my nails before and also removed my acrylic nails for me so she remembers me by name actually all the woman working here do which makes you feel special. Well for the next 45 minutes they trimmed our nails, scrubbed the bottoms of our feet, messaged our feet and calves, put lotion on and rubbed it in and then finish off with a hot towel. It really is the best 45 minutes you can have. The whole time Peggy and I were talking and sitting in a chair that messages your back. It is such an enjoyable time and having Peggy there made it all the better as it is always so much more fun to go with someone else.

  • Well it was time for the nail polish, now if I had doubts about the color as soon as she put it on they went away as it was an awesome color and perfect for summer. It really is a shame I don’t go barefoot so everyone can see them. Really the only time they are visible is when I am out as Susan and have open toe heels on and then it is seen through my nylons as my legs really need nylons to look good. Other than that it is just me who sees them at home but trust me they are gorgeous. Women are so lucky to be able to do this all the time and show them off. After she had put the color but before the top coat she said she was going to paint a little flower on my nail for free because I had to wait which again I told her was not problem. Any way she painted this little flower on each of my big toes and then did the same for Peggy. It is so cute, I have never had the nail art as I said no one other than me would really see it but now that I have it I really like it. She finished it off with a top coat and then all that was left was to let them dry. They were still really busy as people kept coming in to get pedicures and some were told they would have to come back as they only had 5 ladies working. It is a good thing we had an appointment. Here is a picture of the flower on my toes; there will be more pictures at the end of the blog.

Well it was about 4:15 when we left all the ladies there said goodbye to me by name which again made me feel welcome. I went over to Peggy’s as I was going to change there into my dress and freshen up for going out tonight plus Peggy also needed to get ready and she only lives about 5 minutes from this nail salon. Teresa stopped by so the 3 of us sat around and talked for a while and before I knew it, it was 6:10 and we hadn’t got ready yet. It was a quick transformation well really all I needed was to change clothes and touch up my makeup so I was ready by 6:30. I drove myself as I would leave for home from Harvey’s and Peggy road with Teresa.

I got downtown right at 7 and found parking close to Fox & Hound, Laura and Cristine were already there. It wasn’t long and others started to show up. Trisha and her wife showed up which was awesome as they have not been out with the group for a long time as they don’t get to Portland as often as they and we would like. It was great to spend some time with them and catch up on what is new; this was going to be a fun night. Peggy, Teresa, Julie, Trixy, Melissa, Jan and Lynn all showed up at Fox & Hound so we would have a huge group walking the 7 blocks to Harvey’s.

It was a nice summer evening perfect for walking so we left about 8:30 and went over to Harvey’s for the 10 o’clock show. We got there early enough that we found tables in the lounge so we didn’t have to stand plus we did not need to be first in line as we come here every month and know the people including our awesome waitress Kim. She always waits on us and we text her ahead of time and she makes sure we have tables reserved so we can all sit together.

Well we got inside for the show and found our tables and Kim came over and greeted all of us with a hug. She told me she loved my hair and asked if I had just got it done which made me feel good as she couldn’t tell it was a wig, the lighting is dim inside the show room. The show started and both the opening comedian and headliner were awesome and as another blonde moment I cannot think of their names but we laughed so hard. Harvey’s really does get some great comedians and if you are ever in Portland or live nearby you should go and check them out as it is a super fun night.

Well as always the show went by so fast and it was time to leave. We had 16 of us there for the show tonight. Kim our waitress came out and took a picture of us and texted it to Cassandra who couldn’t make it tonight. She gave us all hugs goodbye and told me it was great to see me again as she missed me the last few time, she had noticed I had not been with the group the last few times how special does that make one feel.

Well we all walked back to Fox & Hound as that is where most of us parked. It was sad to see the night come to an end as always. It was so great to see all my friends out for a fun night.

Well as promised here are some more pictures from my pedicure. You really should give it a try. Thanks for reading
