Thursday night trip to the nail salon

Okay first I did get out for a few hours last Sunday evening to Starbucks to study. I spent about 3 hours at the Starbucks by my house, no computer just my books. Any way on to today. I have been going to the Nail salon on Fridays the last few times but this week I would not be able to get there till probably next Tuesday which was my plan as my nails still looked good. Well till Tuesday night. I seem to have hit my nails just right and broke off a piece of the acrylic. funny as I didn’t break the nail just some acrylic. I was able to fix with some OPI nail envy which is a nail strengthener and goes on a little thick. It kind of covered the sharp edges but just didn’t look right so I decided I needed to go get it fixed. I got home late about 4:30 and called Dream Nails to see if Anna could fit me in, she always manages as I really think most people just show up and don’t call for an appointment. Any way I had a 5:30 appointment so I had 1 hour to get ready and get there, only a couple minute drive so I would be.

I got there just before 5:30 and only had to wait a couple minutes for her to finish with someone else. I really do like my trips to the nail salon as it is so relaxing. Anna started on my nails and yes, she had to remove the acrylic on the nail I broke and redo it. She did a wonderful job as always. They were a little busy as there was a young girl sitting next to me just finishing up on her nails and 3 woman getting pedicures. Any way about 6:20 I once again had beautiful nails although shorter. Now I am already thinking about Diva Las Vegas which is coming up fast. 6 weeks from today I will once again be here at the nails salon to get my acrylic nails for the trip 11 days and yes, they will be longer and a pretty color.

After the nail salon I went across the street to Starbucks till 8 to work on my blog and do a little studding (very little). It is nice as I have been coming here so regular most of the workers know me by name and I am getting to know some of their names. I walked in and Alan the young man working tonight welcomed me by name and asked if I wanted my usual hot chocolate which I did. It really makes you feel welcome when this happens. I know it is all about customer service but it still feels good. It is funny as I never went to a Starbucks before the first time I did as Susan and even still I think I have only been there 3 or 4 times when I am not Susan, kind of my girl thing to do. But I like coming here so much last year I bought stock in Starbucks.

It was about 8 when I left and drove over to Burger King as I was hungry, I went through the drive through and then went home. Again, a funny side note about 15 to 20 years ago a big night out for me was to take a late-night drive, after 11pm and then if I could work up my courage a quick trip through burger kings drive through.

Not sure if I will make it out this weekend as I have family stuff to do but next week I am once again on vacation and hope to get out several times. I really can’t explain why I like going out as Susan but I do.

Thanks for reading and be sure and see what I am up to on my most recent blog.

Friday getting my nails done

It is Friday and I am ready for the weekend and yes first thing is a trip to the nail salon to get my nails done. Now they still look great and I probably could go a little longer but they are rather long now. My last trip to the nails salon two weeks ago I didn’t have them shortened as I was on vacation the next week. The last time I had them shortened was January 17th and even then they were left a little long for a man, so they have been growing out for a month.

Now at work this week no one said a thing and they had to notice as they were even long for most woman but I kept them without filing them down. I got home just before 4 and the first thing was to call the nails salon and see if I could get in, Anna said she could get me in at 5:30 so I had an hour in a half which was plenty of time as it only takes a couple minutes to get to Dream Nails. I have actually been coming here for almost 3 years although only the last two have been every 2 to 3 weeks and I love them. They do a wonderful job on my nails and always treat me wonderful. All the woman knows me by name even though I only know about half of them by name. What a great feeling to be a regular at the nail salon. I was ready a little after 5and I just figured I would go a little early and wait, I got there about 5:15 and Anna had just finished with a lady so I got right in. there is just something so relaxing and feminine to be at the nail salon, everyone should try it.

Anna asked how my nails were and if I had broken any as we keep the acrylic kind of thin and she remembered I didn’t have them shortened last time. They really did hold up well just one little chip on the corner of one that happened earlier today and it really wasn’t noticeable. She removed the old gel polish and got them ready for a fill. Now there were 3 other women in here 2 getting pedicures and 1 getting her nails done. Once she had the acrylic on she shortened my nails to a good length, even for a man the would be okay except for the perfect shape and of course the slight pink color but by 2 weeks the length will be noticeable. Now it was time for the gel polish and of course I stayed with the same color, Wedding dress. Anna put 2 coats on and finished it off with a clear coat. As she put the clear coat on I wondered how they would look if I had a 3rd coat of the wedding dress color put on, I am guessing just a little pinker. It was just before 6 when I was all finished with my pretty hands.

Now what to do, I had time so I decided to go to Sweet Home as it has been a while since I have made it there. I got there just before 6:30 and had to park way up the street, I think this is the farthest I have parked from here. I figured they were busy, I walked down and went in and there were only about 10 people here so I don’t know where all the cars on the street came from. Chris was there so I joined him. It was good to see him again. Now it is always a good feeling to go someplace you are welcomed and remembered. All the staff remembered me by name and even some of the customers which was nice, several of the customers told me it was good to see me again and it has been to long which it has as I haven’t been here since November and only 2 or 3 times since last March. But it was wonderful to be back here.

I ordered dinner and of course had my computer out. I talked with Chris some and a few of the other customer, this really is a neighborhood bar where everyone is welcome. I had a wonderful dinner and a wonderful time. Chris left a little before 8 as he comes here right from work to play pool but I stayed for a while as I had my computer. It was about 9 when I paid my bill and called it a night. I was going to stay a little longer but I needed to stope and get gas and I have been going to Costco and they close the gas station at 9:30. I have found if you go just before closing they are not busy and you don’t have to wait in line. I joined Costco a couple months ago but it was a couple weeks ago I went there as Susan and went in and asked about getting a card for me as Susan and to my surprise they did without much question so I have a Susan Costco Card with Susan name and picture on it. It was as short night out but very fun. My next outing will be Saturday night when we go to Harvey’s Comedy Club. Julie Scoggins is there this weekend and she is wonderful, our group has gone and seen her every year she has come for the last 5 for 6 years, she is very funny and if you get a chance to see her you should. She has actually gone out with our group a few times after the shows although the place we use to go is now closed so that may not happen tonight.

Thanks for reading and being a part of my life. If you want to know what new in Susan’s life be sure and read my most recent blog.

Have a great night.

First Friday of November out with my friends

Well it has been another long and busy week for my male side and tonight is the first free night I have had so Susan is going out and I have been looking forward to it all week. It is amazing as no matter how busy or ruff my week is in my male life just knowing I can go out as Susan and looking forward to it makes it easy to get through the week, being Susan is my outlet and what makes me happy and relaxed.

Well I got home late so it was right into the shower with hopes of being ready by 6:30 which almost worked. I was driving out of my garage at 6:45 in my cute new dress and on my way. Now there was a delay getting there tonight as about 3 blocks away the police had one of the intersections closed, I am not sure why as I turned off as soon as I saw the backup and took back streets and it only delayed me a few minutes. Chris was already there as he gets here around 5:30 as he comes right from work, yes he doesn’t have to go home and transform himself.

Chris was playing pool so I sat down and got out my computer so I could check my Susan e-mails and Facebook, you know the important things in life right along with cute dresses, makeup and nails. Debra brought me a drink, she is one of the awesome employees here and also helped Paul at our Halloween party. Jodi was at the bar, she also works here but was off now so I went over and said hi to her. This really is a friendly little neighborhood bar.

Well Cristine, & Julie showed up and it was nice to see them. It is not often when Julie can get out on a Friday night so it was good to talk with her as my going out on Wednesdays are not that much better than her Friday nights out. We had an enjoyable talk and it is funny as it would not have been as much fun just sitting around as guys even though I was not really aware of how I was dressed. I really think it is the mindset I have as Susan as I have said before most of the time I am out I am not even thinking about how I am dressed which in a way is a little scary. I use to get such a rush being out as Susan and now it seems so natural. I now worry what if I run into someone I know in my male life while I am out would I without thinking go up and say hi before I thought about who I was tonight. Julie and I think a lot alike, we both see no need to tell everyone about us as not everyone needs to know. This is only part of who we are. I feel if I don’t intend to be Susan around you than you really don’t need to know about Susan, right? I don’t discuss golfing with friends who don’t golf so why discuss Susan with people who will probably never meet r see Susan.

Roxy, Petra and Michelle all showed up. It has been a while since Petra and Michelle have been out so it was great to see them. Michelle is always smiling and laughing and always has a good time. Jamie Lee also came out tonight in boy mode with her wife Christine, she just joined our group the Rose city T-girls but was having trouble logging in. the changes they have made to the Yahoo groups the last couple years to make it more compatible with cell phones really make it not as good. Well I got out my computer and we spent about 10 minutes and I got her so she can get into the group now so hopefully she will be able to see where and when we go out and join us out as Jamie. Well we got to talk with Jamie and Christine for a while and they seem nice. They didn’t stay late as they were on their way home and just stopped in to meet a few of us.

Maya and Darla made it out tonight which was a wonderful surprise. It has been so long since they have been able to get out with us. They are really awesome people and I wish they could get out more. And of course we gave each other hugs. That is probably the most enjoyable part of Susan and females are free to give each other hugs. If you see two woman out in public and they hug no one thinks anything of it but f two men hug there are all kinds of remarks. As Susan I am free to hug anyone and I always do. In our group almost all of us give hugs when we meet and leave which is nice as it is proven that hugs reduce stress and help you live longer.

Well Rachel, Heather and Kelsie showed up which was nice as it has been a while since they have been here. They are friends of the group and as a matter of fact it was Rachel who recommended this place after we were kicked out of the P-club, she talked to Paul the owner about our group and he invited us to his place and we have been coming here on Friday night since. It was nice to see them again and talk with them. Kelsie is the first person I sang Karaoke here with, Kelsie loves singing karaoke and is good at it but most of all she has fun. While I was talking to Kelsie Michelle grabbed my hand and I lost a nail which I found on the floor. Kelsie said something about nail glue and I told her I didn’t use glue instead I used a double sided indoor outdoor mounting tape so I can reuse my nails. The ones I have on tonight I have worn maybe 20 time or more. She liked the idea as where she works she can’t have long nails or even wear nail polish how sad. Anyway I told her about how I do my nails so I thought I would put a link to my blog “Tips for beautiful nails“. I really have met some wonderful people going out as Susan which is awesome. Kelsie’s boyfriend Chuck also made it tonight so I got to talk with him for a while too. I really like the social part of going out, in my male life I keep kind of to myself for fear people will find out about my secret life but as Susan I feel free to go out and meet people.

Well Karaoke got going and of course Chris sang and did great. Rachel, Kelsie and even Heather sand tonight and all of them did great. It was a really fun evening and of course as it got later and girls started to leave there were more hugs as this is how girls say goodbye and how I get my weekly dose of hugs.

It was a smaller crowd here tonight as the other big group that comes here on Friday nights had something else going on this weekend but it was still a fun crowd. It was almost 12:30 and Chris and I were the last of our group to leave.

Thanks for reading and have a great week and remember to be happy have good friends and love ones, and have something in your life you love to do and can look forward to, that is what makes a happy life, all the other things in life are second.

Tips for beautiful nails

Well this has been a blog I have wanted to write for a while and am just now getting around to it. If you have red my blogs you know I love long pretty nails. I think that is the one thing I would do full time if men could have pretty nails. As such I have tried many things to do my nails from painting them, acrylics which I love, glue on but finding something you can do quickly and lasts and you can take off as easily as they go on and better yet reuse them without damaging your nails is hard. I would love to take credit for this but it was actually Barb who came up with this idea and shared with Cassandra who passed on to me and now I share it with all of you. Now I will admit the most expensive part of this is the nail polish as I love OPI but any polish will do. This is what you need,

Nail polish, one clear and the color of your choice (I like OPI) $8 each

Artificial nails they need to be full nails not the tips, I like KISS brand Active Square 200 count as I can get 10 sets out of it. Under $7

Scott’s outdoor mounting tape (it is water proof), I buy at Home Depot, about $15 for over 400 inches.

I also get some mounting putty (under $2) and a piece of wood (under $2).

Now there are two options, you can use the nails as they are or you can put some of the nail glue on the underside and let dry, to do this just spread out on some paper towels. The reason for the glue is it makes them a little stronger. The nails usually will split up the middle from the cuticle end from reuse. Now I have got anywhere from 10 to 30 uses from the nails without the glue depending on how careful you are taking them off. With the glue you should easily last longer but they sit a little higher on the nail so I would try both ways and see what you like.

Now the trick I use is to mount the nails on the edges of the wood using the mounting putty, I can get 2 sets of 10 on each edge and if I prop up on blocks I can use all 4 edges so I can actually do 8 sets of nails at one time, for this I only did 4 sets.

I put the clear coat on and by the time I get all the nails done the first am dry and ready for the color and I repeat just going around, 2 coats of color and then the clear coat again. This is the slowest part but you can do a lot of nails in one shot and then you are good for awhile. You can also do several colors at once and have a variety of choices.

Let the nails dry and then you are ready to go. I can put on a set in under 5 minutes and if I want I can remove and put another color on in about the same time so you can change your nails

When you are ready you just put the mounting tape on the nails and you are ready to go. I use small pieces as I think they fit better plus the mounting tape really does hold the nails secure. I put the tape on all the nails first. Make sure and press them onto the nail so they stick well.

Then I use tweezers and peel off the tape and place them on my nail, squeeze the nail onto your finger nail and hold for a few seconds to make sure they are secure.

There you have it pretty beautiful nails for the day or evening look. They look great and stay on really well. I have even left on for a weekend and took a bath and shower and the nails held fast.

Now to take of you want to put a little pressure on the tip and take an cuticle orange stick under the back and gently lift up. If you do this carefully you can do it without damaging the nails and get many uses out of them. Once the nail is off, use the cuticle orange stick and scrape the tape off the back and you are ready for the next time.

Friday night at the P-Club

Well it was another fun night out. I went to the P-Club on Lombard in Portland to meet up with my friends something I look forward to all week. I started getting ready a little earlier as I didn’t want to have to rush as I enjoy the whole Susan experience including getting ready and doing my makeup something most guy’s will never experience which is a shame. It is so much fun to try different looks with the makeup, I went for a little more dramatic look with my eyes as I think this is one of the areas my makeup skills lack and you know what they say practice make perfect or in my case better. I wore my grey sweater dress and put on my black knee high boots as it is such a cute look but at the last minute I changed from my boots to my 4″ heels as they show my pretty painted toes and usually we sit a lot at the P-club so I wanted the look.

I got to the P-club right at 7:30 and Cassandra pulled in right behind me so we all walked in as a group. Cassandra, Peggy, Wilma and me, this was Peggy’s first time here. They were not very busy yet so we got a couple tables and pulled them together and ordered some drinks and some food. It wasn’t long and others girls started to show up and our group out grew the two tables we had. Maya and Mindy (Mindy is her daughter and so accepting and friendly of us); Roxy, Cristine, Jan, Lynn, Brook and Diane who is in town from back east. I know I am missing someone sorry.

Diane had on this cute grey sweater dress with black knee high boots so had I wore my boots we would have looked almost the same other than her dress was just a little different style and a little shorter. It was so funny so of course we took some pictures with Diane’s camera; my batteries were dead as I forgot to change them after Halloween when I took way to many pictures.

Brook was there again and in girl mode for the second week in a row which is nice as she works so much it is really hard for her to get out and she really likes to spend time as her female self. We had a chance to talk for a while which is fun as I think being able to share a little girl talk is one of my favorite things as Susan.

Well next up was shuffle board (they have a table version) so Cassandra and Diane challenged Peggy and me. Cassandra and I had played before but Diane and Peggy had not so we explained how it works and then we started playing. The first game Peggy and I won, we led the whole game. It was so fun. The second game Diane and Cassandra won so you guessed it we had to play another game, Peggy and I took an early lead but Cassandra had some good shots and got a couple with high scores so in the end they won but it was way too much fun. We went back to the table to sit and rest as 4″ heels are not what you want to spend your whole evening standing on but they look cute and that is what is important.

Next Maya asked me to play ping pong so I did even though she is really really good and I knew I would lose. There was a table up by the ping pong table with about 7 people at it (4 girls 3 guys) and they were watching us play so I tried my bet and did have a few good shots and scored some points. We played 2 games and I can tell you playing ping pong in heels is not easy as you do have to move around a lot as you chase that ball. Also a sweater dress is a little warm for physical activity. I really needed to sit down and cool off and have another drink but it was so fun.

Later on it was so funny as Maya and a couple of the other girls were teaching Mindy how to walk in her heels and dress. She is so cute but she is more of a cowgirl type. This was her first time she said wearing a dress and heels so these T-girls were teaching her. So funny to see T-girls teaching a GG how to be walk in heels. She also does not usually wear makeup but Maya got her to put on some eye makeup and a really pretty shade of red lipstick which looked great on her.

Once again it was time for shuffle board so Diane and Brook challenged Mindy and me to a game so I was back up on my feet that were already killing me to play another game. This one guy who was really pretty drunk kept coming up to us he really liked Mindy as she really did look good but he was following her like a puppy dog. And of course was hitting on the rest of us also. At one point he set a pitcher of beer right in the middle of the shuffle board game and got beer on the table and the salt on the top so we had to stop the game and clean that part of the table. Mindy kept telling him to sit and he would for a few minutes and then he was right back by us and once again Mindy would tell him to sit, just like training a puppy. Well Mindy and I won 2 games and I really needed to sit now and rest my feet and for the first time I took my heels off while still out such a girl thing to do. I have seen other woman do this but till this point have never been willing to do. So I sat at the table resting my feet and they did feel better.

A couple woman came up to us a couple different times and told us how nice we all looked and they were glad we were there. They were so nice and we chatted with them for a while. It is nice when we are out to have people tell you that you are welcome in a place and they even like us to be there.

The rest of the evening Peggy, Roxy, Jan, Lynn and I sat and talked. It was so nice and relaxing. Peggy and Cassandra are planning on going to Diva Las Vegas in April 2011 and so am I so we talked a little about that. We want to do the same thing we did last year, leave Friday and drive to LA, spend Saturday in LA maybe go to Universal again and have lunch outside and then go to the Oxwood Saturday night and then Sunday on to Las Vegas for the week. It was so fun last year and we are all looking forward to this year. I once again plan on doing the whole trip as Susan again and yes that defiantly means having Acrylic nails as I love them and could never pass up a chance to have them. I talked a little with Diane to see if she could meet us there and also hope more from our group the Rose_City_T-girls can go. We may even try a different hotel this year.

Well it was about 1 AM when I left, it had been a long day as I get up really early during the week. Some of the girls stayed but this girls feet were dead. May have to wear shorter heels next time we go here.

Tuesday of Diva Las Vegas golf tournament

Well we all got up early Tuesday morning at 5:30 (Cassandra was up earlier) to get ready for the Diva Las Vegas golf tournament at Desert Rose Golf course. I was so excited as I finally get to wear my cute golf outfit I bought, a White skirt with a purple top. I look so cute in it with my white and pink shoes. We got to the course at 7:30 and checked in. we didn’t tee off till 9 am so we drove back down the street to a Starbucks to get something to get us going as we did not eat breakfast. When we got back to the course most of the other girls were there and we went over to the putting green to practice. From there we went to the driving range to hit a bucket of balls. We all looked so cute.

Now I have told everyone it was not how good I would play but how cute I looked on the course. I soon discovered my beautiful Acrylic nails were little long for golf. They made it really hard to get a good grip and if I didn’t get a good grip all the way through it felt like I was ripping them off. This was going to be harder than I thought.

Cassandra and I were paired with two other girls and in the last group, we had 16 girls (4 were wives that played) and Peggy had her own golf cart and was the official photographer of the tournament so she was driving all around taking pictures. Not sure but I think she said she had over 400 pictures.

We finally teed off and we were having the time of our lives. Cassandra and I have talked about playing golf (as Susan and Cass) so many times and now we were. After 4 holes I was only 3 over par (good for me) and was ahead of Cassandra. By the 5th hole the wind started to pick up. They had been forecasting strong winds (30-45 MPH) by the afternoon but it looked like it was coming in early. You cannot imagine what that kind of wind can do to ones hair. It really made it hard to look cute (I don’t like hats so my hair was a mess). I tried to swing a little harder because of the wind but with my nails I couldn’t grip the club tight enough and my ball started going all over the place. Soon Cassandra caught and passed me and I never had the lead again. A few times I thought I was going to rip off a nail but luckily never did as I would have cried all the way to the nail salon to have them fixed. If I do this again I will definitely still have my nails and just hit the ball softer and realize this girl won’t win any tournaments. I refuse to give up my nails. By the 7th hole my hairs was so windblown I looked horrible except for my cute golf outfit.

Cassandra ended up beating me (she took her nails off) but that is okay. Cassandra is working on a YouTube video of the golf tournament so I was her camera girl. She hopes to have it up in a couple weeks so you will have you look for it. It should be really cute. She can play to the camera so well. At the end we all went in the club house for lunch and prizes. It was so fun and I met so many get t-girls.

This was an awesome group and the people of the Desert Rose golf course were so great and treated us outstanding, if you ever want to golf in Las Vegas I would recommend this course. Now we are back at the hotel getting cleaned up for a night out. 6 hours in the sun and wind Susan needs a fresh face and her hair redone.

I will be Adding pictures to my Windows Live Profile.

Manicure and time at Starbuck’s 1-27-2010

Well it’s Wednesday night and I made it out again. I made an appointment to get a manicure tonight at Nails by Lilly at 6 pm so I had to leave a little earlier than normal. This is always a challenge as it was still light out when I left home and some of my neighbors were outside. I tried to time it when they were not looking towards my house and off I went. Don’t know if they saw anything suspicious or not but I was out and on my way. I got to the nail salon just before 6 and went in. there were three other woman in there getting their nails done so I had to wait about 10 minutes. The lady who did my nails has done them before so we chatted a little while she did them. It is so relaxing to get a manicure. Tonight I chose the color “an affair in red square” from OPI. It is a medium red with just a little bit of sparkle in it. A really nice color that may be what I have when I get my acrylics for Diva Las Vegas. I hope to go two more times for manicures before then and try different colors so I pick the perfect one for the trip. I left with my beautiful nails and headed down to Starbuck’s.

I got to Starbucks right at 7 pm my usual time. There was no one there when I went in which is a first of all the times I have been here. Both ladies that worked here greeted me with a hello and a smile. They are both so nice and friendly. Before I could even get to the counter to order the one was already making my drink. Wow I feel so special. I had my money out and the one said it was on them tonight as I am always so nice and pleasant, wow what a compliment. I am sitting here on my computer and they are getting busy now about 15 people here. There is a group of 9 women that have pulled several tables together. It looks like they are having a girl’s night out. They are at the tables next to mine so I can kind of listen in on what they are talking about not that I am trying to listen it’s just our close proximity. It is really fun to sit here and people watch while I am on my computer. Everyone is so involved in their own little world when they are here it truly is a great place for Susan to come to.

The more I am out the more I am looking forward to Diva Las Vegas and the week I will spend totally as Susan it will be an experience of a life time. 11 days totally as Susan. I know my friends who are also going are excited and looking forward to it to so I know we will all have a wonderful time. I plan on taking so many pictures, one of the fun things of being Susan, she is a camera freak. Susan sees a camera and the smile just comes over my face. It is so strange as my male side is so camera shy and has spent his life avoiding the camera. I guess I really am two different people. I plan on putting some on my web page and flickr page but all will go on my Windows live profile. I really haven’t used this one much but the other day I was on it and they now give you 25 gigs for pictures for free where flickr only lets you have 200 if you want more you have to pay. This will be a great [place for me to store my pictures in case the unthinkable happens (computer crash). Well I guess that is all for tonight.

Well just one more thing. Went up to get another drink and again they gave it to me free, very unexpected. I will have to give them a good tip tonight. I stood there and we chatted while they made my drink. The one asked my name so I told them Susan and they both introduced themselves Katie and Shavonie (hope I spelled it right) they are both so nice. And now I should be able to remember their names.

Famous hands, see my acrylic nails on a beauty blog

Well just a quick post tonight. A while back I was surfing the internet and did a search for acrylic nails and found a couple pictures of my hands when I had acrylic nails. One stood out as it was not from my web page so I clicked the link and wound up on a beauty blog. They had an article on acrylic nails and they used one of my pictures. They even gave me credit for the photo and if you click on it, it links back to my picture on my flickr page (I guess that is why this one picture of my acrylic nails have gotten so many hits. My hands are famous (Susan the hand model). I thought this was pretty cool.

What makes it even better is this is not a t-girl blog it is a mainstream beauty blog, not sure if they knew I was a t-girl before they used it or not but either way they did. You can check out their blog (and my picture) at http://www.beauty-blogs.com/uncategorized/care-acrylic-nails/
