Wednesday night dinner at Mothers Bistro

It is Wednesday and our group is doing dinner tonight at Mothers Bistro, we have gone here many times and it is always wonderful. Normally we get a big turnout the last few times it was 10 or more but tonight only 4 of us responded so it looks like a small group tonight. Might be the weather as it is in the 90’s today and it can be hard for us in the heat as we all need more makeup then the average lady plus some of us have padding on to get the right curves, it is hard and takes work to be female. Now I did manage to slide out of work early which is nice as it gives me time to enjoy getting ready and also, I will have enough time to pick Julie up. Normally I get hoe between 5:30 and 5:45 and sense it takes me about a half hour to get back downtown Portland it is normally a rush but I was home tonight by 4:20. I texted Julie to see if she wanted a ride, I was pretty sure she would as it is just way more fun to go together plus it gives us a chance to talk on the way there and home. I was ready and on y way to Julies a little after 5:30 and got to here house a little after 6.

Julie had left the door open for me so I went in and she was just finishing up getting ready. We had both chosen to wear light summer dresses as it is over 90 right now. I really do need to go and get some more summer dresses and some casual dresses more that I could wear during the day. Melissa has some really cute but casual dresses she wears and looks awesome in; I think she got them at Old Navy so I will have to go there and look. It was about 6:15 when we were on our way and going into Portland there was no traffic so it didn’t take long. I found a parking spot right on the corner in front. We went in and Melissa was already there so we went and got a table, well booth and waited for Nicole to arrive. Now the staff here is awesome but really everywhere we go, we seem to get treated really well. Our waitress came and took our drink orders. Just about that time Nicole came in so we were all there. Of course, I had to get my selfie for my blog.

We talked for a little bit before we ordered. These Wednesday night dinners are really a great social event and gives us a chance to talk and get to know each other better or catch up on what is new in our lives. It really is no different then what other people do when they go out. I really can’t explain why it is so much fun as the whole time I am out I am not thinking about how I am dressed. It really is just friends going out for dinner.

Our waitress brought our drinks and we all ordered dinner and yes, I had my normal meal, Chicken fried Chicken. It really is good. Melissa and Julie also ordered their normal dinners also. Soon our dinners came and we had a nice dinner as the 4 of us sat and talked, it really was a fun and enjoyable evening and of course the food was awesome. Now Nicole was also out Saturday night at the Escape with me but it was still nice to get to see her again. When she was down earlier in the summer her older daughter came with her and I had told her daughter I would sing Karaoke with her the next time she came down so on Saturday night I had told Nicole about my singing the last couple weeks with other people and that I was ready to sing with her daughter and she texted her the song I wanted to do, I’ve had the time of my life, so her daughter texted her back she would practice for when she comes down next so at some point I will be singing with her daughter.

We finished dinner and sat and talked and of course more pictures were taken, Melissa took a selfie and it was awesome, she looked so good in the picture but then she always looks good as did Nicole and Julie. Really, we all put effort into looking our best and although I know we don’t pass I think we do a good job trying to present ourselves like ladies and that is what it is all about. I am sure we got a few looks from people but no one stared or pointed at us or said anything and to me that is passing. I did get a picture with Julie; wish I had got one with Nicole and Melissa and maybe a group picture. Wil have to work on remembering that next time.

Julie ordered a desert and I am trying to be good so I didn’t although I know I will have a few bites of Julies as the desserts here are on the big side. We sat and kept talking and soon it was after 9:30, it is amazing how fast the time goes when I am out with my friends. Our waitress came with our bills all split out, as I said our waitress was awesome. She told us her name but as usual I forgot as I am bad with names and it is 4 days later, I am writing this blog. I really do need to get back to writing my blog the next day.

We all left and said our goodbyes out front before we went our separate ways well not Julie and I as we rode together. It is a way to keep the evening going a little longer as Julie and I kept talking on the drive back to her house. We got to her house a little after 10 and I dropped her off. The next couple weeks Julie won’t be out as she need to go south and get her other house ready for the winter and then she will be back for a little while before her and Trixie head south for the winter. They like to go someplace warm for the winter, it will be sad when that happens as I won’t get to see her every week but I am sure she will come up every once in a while, and in the spring just as the flowers come back so will they.

I dropped her off and drove home. it was a wonderful night made even more special by spending it with my friends. When I first started going out it was all about being out as Susan now it really is about spending time with my wonderful friends. Thanks for reading and be sure and read my most recent blog to see what is new in my life.

Saturday August 10th at the Escape

Okay I am once again a week behind on my blog, Last Saturday I did make it out to the Escape for my normal Saturday night out. I had posted in group but got no response so I figured it could be a quiet night for our group. Now I got home a little later than normal so it was a rush as I do like to get there early. It is nice to eat and play on my computer before others start to show up and also it is a little quieter so you can talk before Karaoke starts. Well I got there right at 6 and went in. there were a few people there almost all sitting at the bar so I set up my computer at my normal table and went up to order dinner. Now I know a lot of the people who come here but not all by name. there is one lady who is always here when I get here and her name is Melissa and she always says hi to me and tells me how nice I look which I love and we always talk a little. She actually works here earlier in the day and then hangs out a little after she gets off work. Any way as we were talking. she said a couple times she was sorry and when I asked why she said I would figure it out. I really didn’t think anything of it. I got a couple selfies in the car before going in.

Well I got back to my table and a couple that also comes here early was also here and they came over and talked to me they were getting ready to leave and they are partiers and they had been drinking so it probably was a good idea for them to stop drinking but they are really nice. They left and a few minutes later this other guy came over and I could tell he had been drinking and he was okay to start, his name I think was Dave. He was playing a lot of music on the juke box and dancing around the bar and he kept stopping at my table to talk to me, it was kind of getting annoying but I was polite. Finally, he wanted me to get up and dance with him and I declined as I don’t dance but he would not take no for an answer and kept asking. Now every time he did come to my table, I could see the guy at the bar watching close to make sure nothing happened but this guy would not let up, he even offered me money if I would dance with him. Not sure what he was really looking for but I said no and he went back to the bar and then he left. Now I don’t know if the bar staff asked him to leave or they just refused to serve him any more drinks but I was glad he was gone. The whole thing only lasted about or minutes but it seemed longer. I guess I now know what some woman goes through with drunk men. I went up and got another drink (Sprite) and I told Melissa I finally realized why she had told me sorry, she apologized again as she had been the one serving him earlier. Any way no harm no foul and I could go back to my table in peace and quiet.

Bobbie showed up so I wasn’t alone which was nice so we talked for a little bit and then Michelle showed up so we had of us tonight. We sat and talked and had a good time. As it got close to 9 more people started coming in and it got busy. One lady came in and strangely enough her name is also Melissa and she comes in every once in a while, for karaoke and she is a really good singer and tonight she brought her husband in, she got married a couple months ago. Any way they came over and sat with us at our table and talked with us. She really is nice and her husband seems really nice also, he didn’t seem the least bit bothered sitting with us and even talked with me on and off through the evening. I even got a picture with her, and Melissa said we kind of look like sisters although she has a much prettier smile.

Karaoke started and of course it got loud so it was kind of hard to talk but it was still a fun night. Another girl from our group showed up and of course Lauri came in right before 10 so we had 5 of us tonight. Karaoke was fun and I sang along with some of the songs as again tonight a lot of them I knew and liked.

It was after 11 when I paid my bill and called it a night. it was fun though as I really do love going out with my friends and just people in general as Susan. it really helps me make Susan a normal part of my life and that is so important. I really think if you can accept yourself and all the parts of your life is so much better.

Wednesday night dinner at Southland Whiskey Kitchen

It is Wednesday night and our group, well a few of us are meeting for dinner at the Southland Whiskey Kitchen. We have gone here several times and the food is wonderful and mid-priced, $12 to $25 depending on what you want. I am really looking forward to it as I have not been out since last Wednesday nights dinner, family issues to take care of. Looks like it my Susan time will be limited again so I have to really make the most of it when I get it. But tonight, I will get a few hours with my friends over a nice dinner and what can be better then that. I got home about 4:30 and started getting ready right away. I really do look forward to being Susan, going out with friends and especially getting ready, deciding on an outfit, what dress and heels and of course how to do my makeup. My makeup is pretty much the same as I have found what works for me after years of trial and error, really the only thing I do different is how intense I do my eyes and which color of lipstick. For tonight it will be a little more intense and dramatic. Now it is hard to explain why I enjoy doing my makeup so much as I know woman who hate doing their makeup but for me it is relaxing and enjoyable. I have talked to several girls who feel the same way and yet I don’t know why I feel this way, but that really doesn’t matter. I enjoy it and that is good enough for me.

It was about 6 when I was ready and on my way. I got in my car and opened the garage door and was on my way. I think back a few years and I would carefully look outside and make sure no one was out and if they were wait for them to go inside which during the summer sucked as sometimes I would wait an hour. Now I just go. Now I am not saying I am coming out to everyone, I am not going up to my neighbors and saying guess what I am Susan part time but I am also not hiding it, if they see me they see me so be it. I can’t tell you how wonderful it feels to look at life and who I am this way but it did take me many years to get to this point and a lot of help from my friends.

I got downtown a little after 6:30 and found a parking spot about 3 blocks away and again a few years ago this would have terrified me but I just got out of my car and went and paid for parking and walked to the restaurant, the funny thing is I really wasn’t even thinking about how I was dressed or being Susan, I was just me. I got to Southland Whiskey Kitchen a little before 7 and went in. They were not that busy and the lady asked how many in our group. I said 4 for sure maybe 6, as I was talking with her Melissa n=and her wife came in and Barb right after, this is our core Wednesday night group right now. We got a booth that was big enough we could squeeze 2 more in if we needed which we did. Dee and Gina showed up, Dee is a local girl in our Group and Gina a girl from the Seattle area who was down visiting. They are both going on our Mexican Cruise in October and are sharing a room. I think this was a chance for them to meet before the cruise as Cassandra has been trying to help some of the girls find cabinmates for the cruise to help with the cost. I think I have met Dee before but this was the first time I met Gina and they are both really nice.

We talked for a little bit before we ordered dinner. This really is a wonderful social event as in smaller groups it is more personal and easier to talk with everyone. Don’t get me wrong as I really like and want more girls to come out but if they don’t it is still a wonderful event. Now one of the things besides the cruise we talked about was our group and how to get more girls interested in going out and should we even keep doing the Wednesday night dinners if we can’t get more girls to come out. Now my feeling on this is a big yes, even if it is just a few girls it is worth it. I think going out to these places and letting people see us and interact with us in even a small way is good as they can see we are no different then them, we are just out for a nice dinner and conversation with friends. It takes the mystery out I think. The other reason is to be out with my friends. For me it is not about where we go but my friends ii go with. For those who don’t know I don’t drink, never really have and I am not a bar person. I have maybe gone to bars a dozen times as my male self. Susan goes to these places because her friends go there and for better or worse when we first started going out it really was LGBT bars where we could go and be safe and feel accepted. Over the years that has changed.

When I first started going out it was to go as a group for safety and support, over the years I have become more comfortable and confident as Susan and pretty mush go where I want and will go by myself. I really no longer need the group for that but I do need them for the friendships I have made. My best friends are in this group, and some are more like sisters, family. The going out now is to see them and spend time with them. I really am lucky to have such wonderful people in my life and I would not be who I am without them.

We ordered dinner and our food came and it was wonderful as always, I would recommend Southland Whiskey Kitchen for a good dinner. The staff here is wonderful and our waitress remembered a few of us from last time, I guess we are a little more memorable then the average customer but still makes you feel good. It was just before 9 when we finished and paid our bills, we did talk a little longer till just after 9 before leaving. We said our goodbyes and I walked back to my car and again I really never thought about being Susan or how I was dressed I was just me. I really think if you can get to that point people accept you better as you come across as nothing is wrong and this is just who you are.

Thanks for reading and be sure and keep up with me and my life in my most recent blog.

Wednesday night dinner at Mother Bistro

It is Wednesday night and our dinner tonight I at Mothers Bistro. We have gone here several times and the food is always good and the staff wonderful. It has been a long week and I am really looking forward to some time with my friends and of course Susan time. It is so relaxing and enjoyable and always make me feel good. Now I am not sure who all will be there as so far, I have only 2 replies that are yes and 1 maybe so most likely it will be 3 or 4 of us but either way it will be fun. I got home and started getting ready as I wanted to enjoy the time. Now for tonight it will be hot outs as it is in the low 90’s right now. I went with my black & white summer dress tonight. I was all ready by 6 and on my way as I wanted to be a little early incase others showed up.

I got downtown Portland by 6:30 and found a parking soot right in front. I went in and they were really busy, the lady asked me if I had a reservation. I said now and she asked for a name and how many and she would get me on the list. Guess it was good I got here early. I told her 4 to 6 as I really didn’t know. Now a couple times we have been here when they were busier but never this busy. Melissa showed up next followed by Barb and Kimberly so everyone who replied about tonight made it. It was a little after 7 but they were able to fit us in, kind of in a corner but we had 4 seats and could fit 1 more on the end if we had any last-minute arrivals which we didn’t as it was just the 4 of us for dinner.

We all sat and talked for a little while before we ordered. We talked about our Mexican cruise coming up in October and of course Wednesday night dinners. We are trying to figure out a way to get more girls out on Wednesday nights. Should we try to find other restaurants, should they be more upscale or more affordable, the places we go for the most part you can get a nice meal for $12 to $20 maybe higher depending on your drink choice. Should we try different nights which also has good and bad. I really do like the idea of going the same night as that way everyone knows which night it will be. I really wish some of our members would give some input. I do know we do like going to dinner and even if we don’t get more people I would hate to see it go away. Maybe I will do a post to see what our members would like to do. Several years ago, we all really needed the group to go out but Portland has become so accepting it is easy to go out on your own and I think that may have something to do with it.

Our food came and it was wonderful as always. I got to talk a little with Kimberly which was nice as this is only the second time I have seen her out, she is one of our newer members. She actually went to The Escape the weekend I was sick, I think only 1 other girls showed up that night so I feel a little bad about that. It really was nice to be out with my friends.

We finished dinner about 8:30 so we still had a little time before they closed at 9 so we sat and talked a little. As we were talking Dimond Dee, Rachal, and Kim came in. they had been down at CC Slaughters and decided to swing by and see who was here so we talked with them for a little while before the went back to CC Slaughters. When we had bigger groups on Wednesday some of the girls would go here after dinner. I get up way to early in the morning to stay out to late so I don’t. maybe if we ate close I would walk through and say hi to those I knew but that would be it. Any way Wednesday nights are still one of my favorite nights out even though they are shorter as with a smaller group in a more intimate setting you really get to talk more and get to know each other better.

It was a little after 9 when we left. It was a fun evening and it is always sad to see it come to an end but I know I will see them again soon and we will enjoy another fun evening out. I really have made some wonderful friends as Susan.

Thanks for reading and be sure and keep up with what’s new on my blog. My blogs are going to my Facebook page again but I still have no idea whay all of my blog post I shared on my Facebook page before July 7th went away and there is no trace of them and I have no way or idea of how to get them back on Facebook. So sad.

Memorial Day and I have the day off and that means some Susan time

It is Monday and I have the day off so Susan gets some time out. Now I am meeting Barb, Melissa and her wife for lunch at 1 pm so I have the whole morning. My plan was to get up early and go to Starbucks for a few hours till the mall opened and then do a little shopping till it was time to meet my friends for lunch. It was the perfect plan for the day or at least I thought. Well things didn’t go as I planned as I got up late so I was behind to start. It was almost 10 by the time I was done with my makeup and getting dressed. Now for today I wanted to ware my corset. Well I had it just about on and as I tightened when you guessed it the ties broke and so I had to take it off and fix it and start over. I got it off and redid the ties and put it back on but was having trouble getting it tight. Turns out I missed one of the eyelets and it just won’t tighten up and so once again off it came and I redid the ties making sure not to miss an eyelet and once more on it went and this time I could get it tightened up. It was now a little after 10 am and I was ready to leave and go have fun. Now I had a choice. I could drive to the mall and have maybe an hour and skip Starbucks or go to Starbucks and have almost 2 hours. Well I needed to do my Blog from Sunday and so Starbucks won out.

I got to Starbucks and went in and got a drink and sat down at a table and started on my blog, I really do like the idea of writing my blog as Susan when I am out. It just seems to make the circle complete. Now I had been there about 10 minutes and the same lady I know that I saw yesterday came in again today. What are the odds, again I just kept my head down and kept doing what I was doing. She got her drink and left. I still find it funny that in all the times I have come here I have never seen her here accept for the last 2 days. I stayed here till a little after noon before heading for my lunch with my friends.

I got downtown Portland about 12:30 and found a parking spot about a block away from where we were having Lunch, Papa Haydn. Now being the middle of the day, a holiday and a nice warm day outside there were all kinds of people walking the streets and I was just another person out. I went in and got a table and it was only a few minutes later Barb showed up. We talked as we waited for Melissa and her wife to show up, they arrived right at 1 pm. We talked a little mire before ordering lunch. Now the food here at Papa Haydn is good but they have a limited menu. The real reason for going here is their dessert menu, they have awesome desserts. Melissa and her wife split a dessert as did Barb and I. it was so good and so rich. I didn’t even eat half of it. It really was a wonderful lunch and after noon. It was after 2:30 when we finished and all said our goodbyes and left.

I got home about 3:30 so I had to rush as I had to be someplace by 4 and in my male mode which I just barely made. It really was a wonderful day.

Wednesday night dinner at the Rock Bottom.

Okay it is Wednesday and our group is having dinner at the Rock Bottom in downtown Portland. It is another Brew pub in Portland, yes Portland has a lot of Brew Pubs, some say the microbrew really started here. We have gone here many times and the food is wonderful and we are always treated well but that is the case where ever we go here in Portland. Now I am not sure who all will show up as Cassandra is taking the summer of and she really has been the driving force behind our group. I did post in our group that I would be there for sure. Well before I get to far Just a quick note, there is still time to sign up to go on our Mexican Cruise, October 13 to 20 2018. We have 28 signed up right now let’s see if we can get 30. . For more information check out our web page or contact me.

I got home from work and had time tonight to enjoy the getting ready and take my time which always makes the night better. I was all ready and, on my way, a little before 5. I got downtown Portland and this area seems a lot busier as I never seem to be able to find a parking spot on the street. I drove around a couple blocks and nothing so I went right to the parking garage which is only 1 block away and even that was kind of full, I found a parking spot on the 5th floor right by the elevator. It still amazes me how far I have come as Susan. A few years ago, I would park right by the door or where I could see it and wait till I saw no one around before getting out of my car and going straight in. tonight it was no big deal. I parked, got out of my car got on the elevator and down to the street and walked the block to the Rock Bottom as though it was the most natural thing to do, not once did I think about how I was dressed or if people were looking at me. It really is a wonderful feeling.

I went inside and I was the first one there, Kate texted me she was almost there so I checked our group to see who all posted, Kate, Barb and Melissa all said they would be here so I knew we had at least 4. Kate got there and she got us a table for 4 although we could squeeze 2 more in we would just be cozy. As it turned out it would be just the 4 of us. Melissa showed up and we all sat at the table and talked as we waited. Barb showed up right at 7 and so we all ordered dinner. They really do have good food here but I really like their Chicken fried Chicken so that is what I ordered. They were a little busy which is always nice as you can people watch which really has become one of the fun things I like to do.

We had a wonderful time and talked a little about our group and what we want to do mainly about our dinners. We all really want to keep them going but we want to find a way to get more of the group going out. Cassandra use to send text messages which is a big undertaking but it got it to the members directly instead of them having to go to the group web page. It really made it to easy and people got to use to it and t may get hard to break that and get them back to checking the web page. Melissa has done so much with our web page she has even put forums in it where we can have group talks it really is a wonderful web page with lots of information. We talked if we should try to find a way to do group tests again but I would really like to try and get people to go back to checking the web page. It really only does take a few seconds and you can do it right on your cell phone. Well that is something we as the administrators will have to figure out. The one thing I do know is we need members to reply and let us know if they are coming out just so we can plan for it, it would not be good if we had a table for 6 and 7 or 8 showed up and had to sit by themselves. Well I guess I got off topic again as that really had nothing to do with our dinner out. We also talked a little about our Mexican cruise, still time to sign up so check the link above.

The night went by so fast as always and soon it was after 9. We all paid our bills; our waitress was awesome by the way. Now it was time to leave so we said our goodbyes and left. Melissa and I had both parked in the parking garage so we walked together and talked. It really was a wonderful evening out with friends.

Wednesday night dinner at Mothers Bistro

It is Wednesday and our group is going to dinner at Mother’s Bistro. I have been here a couple times before and it is really a nice place with wonderful food. Now I always look forward to Wednesday night dinners as I get time as Susan but more than that I get to go out with my friends and that makes the night special. I got ready early as I wanted to be downtown by 6:30 as that would give me time to find parking and get to Mothers Bistro by 7. I was right on schedule and on my way by 6. I got downtown and as I came around the corner there was a parking spot right in front of the door. I couldn’t believe my luck. I parked and saw Veronica and Cassandra right by the door. Turns out Veronica was parked right in front of me and Cassandra the first car around the corner.

We went in and they were not as busy as the last few times we have come here. Cassandra had called and got a reservation as we have 8 coming tonight. We were early so we got a small table in the bar area and waited for others to show up. We talked for a while and the waiter said our table was ready so we moved into the dinning room area as I said they were not as busy this time. This really is a nice place to go for dinner. Our waitress came over and she was the same one we have had the last 2 times I have been here and she is wonderful. We got some drinks and an appetizer as we waited.

By 7 other girls started to show up, Jeanie, Barb, Melissia, Kate, Danelle, and Teri so we actually had 9 of us here tonight. I have met Danelle a couple times before but it was a few years back she came to dinner way back when we were going to the House of Louie. She is really nice and I hope she comes out more. Teri is also really nice I met her once before a few months back when she came out to the Escape, she lives up north near Seattle so a little harder for her to get out with the group but always happy when she does.

We all ordered dinner and had a wonderful time talking. It was a wonderful night as always and it went so fast. It was after 9 before we knew it and they close at 9 but never said a word to us. Now at the end we were all telling jokes, some good and some well not so good. Any way our waitress told us a joke and a couple other employees came over and shared their jokes with us. It was a really fun social evening out. Kate was trying to get a picture of us at the table and our waitress came over and took a picture of all of us at the table. It was about 9:30 when we all left, what a fun night.

Thursday night dinner with Cassandra & Melissa

Okay it is Thursday night and I am getting together with Melissa and Cassandra for dinner to work on our web site and mainly our e-mail. Okay a trip down memory lane, our group was really started as a Yahoo group back in November of 2007 By Cassandra when she was going out but didn’t know if other T-girls would be out. Well she came up with the idea of having a group where t-girls could post when they were going out or see where others were going. I joined the group in in Early 2008 and it was the best thing that could have happened to me. I made so many wonderful friends and it opened up the world to me going out as Susan. Now as with everything change comes and Yahoo groups changed and I am sure Yahoo thought it was for the better but for what our group wanted it was not. Also, with all the changes going on with Yahoo and the fact we had seen so many things Yahoo had close down we were worried about what would happen. So, in the spring of 2016 several of us started talking about options for our group and there were, few but what we wanted was something we could control so we decided to look into creating our own web site and we did. Our web site went live in July 2016 and we now have 184 members of our group. In the fall of 2017 we wanted more control and we moved it to a new server and Melissa took over maintaining the web site and she has done a wonderful job. Tonight, is the last part moving our e-mail to the Gmail server. Now right now just Cassandra, Melissa, Julie and I have email set up through our web site.

We were meeting at the Escape at 6 for dinner and to work on the e-mail switch and the web site. I was ready a little before 5 and was on my way. Now it normally takes me 15 minutes to get to the Escape but that is on a Saturday evening, tonight there was rush hour traffic and I didn’t get there till 5:45. Cassandra was already there on her computer so I set mine up and ordered dinner. Melissa showed up at 6 and she sat between us so we could both see what she was doing. Now as I said Melissa ahs done a wonderful job and it didn’t take her long to get us all set up and switched over and it was nice as I learned a little about how e-mail works behind the scene.

We had a nice dinner and a fun evening and got a lot done and I think we have a really wonderful web site. We also talked about some things we want to work on for the web site, Melissa has some wonderful ideas and the fact it is ours and we control it we can do what ever we want. It was amazing how fast the night went by and soon it was 9pm. We got a lot down but it was time to call it a night. I got home and was getting ready for Bed and Julie texted me this picture from Diva Las Vegas when we had dinner at the Bahama Breeze and I thought it was cute so I had to include it. Thanks Julie.

Wednesday night dinner at Who Song & Larry’s

It is Wednesday and we are going to Who Song & Larry’s, this is always a fun place to go. I always look forward nit just to going out with my friends but the time I take getting ready. I really can’t explain why I so enjoy doing my makeup and getting dressed. I enjoyed my time getting ready and soon was on my way. I got to Who Song & Larry’s and it took me a little while to find a parking spot, looks like they are busy tonight. I finally found a parking spot and was on my way in when Cassandra texted me she had just parked. We went in and they were busy but luckily it was a warm day and they had their patio open and that is where most people wanted to sit so we were able to get a table inside.

Cassandra and I got a table for 8 right in the middle of the room and waited for others to show up. Of course, we ordered their bean di which is awesome to go with their tortilla chips. I really could make a meal out of this alone. Barb showed up a little before 7 and Melissa and her wife a few minutes later so we had 5 of us for dinner tonight. Now our waiter, I think his name is Chris is the same waiter who waited on us last time we were here and he remembered us. We have always been treated wonderful here. Now we were ready to order or at least we thought. For as long as we have been coming here they have had daily specials and Wednesday’s were all you can eat Enchilada’s. Well turns out they don’t have them anymore so we all had to look at the menu so it took a little longer to order. I ended up ordering Chicken Fajita tonight.

We had a wonderful dinner and wonderful conversation. T was a relaxing dinner and we stayed here till almost 9:30 before calling it a night. Mow tomorrow night Cassandra, Melissa and I are meet for dinner at the Escape and we are going to work on our web page, and also change are e-mails. Since we own our own domain for the web site Cassandra and I have an e-mail through our domain and we are switching it over to be hosted on Gmail server. I think Melissa and Julie are also going to get an e-mail this way.

Thursday and we are going to tour the Hoover Dam

Our big thing today is going to the Hoover Dam for a tour and of course pictures. Over the years I have come to Las Vegas many times and have gone and looked at the Hoover Dam and always wanted to take the tour, well this year we are going to do it. Julie, Cassandra and I are going to meet Melissa and her wife at the Hoover Dam at 9am so that means getting up early again. A fun vacation but late nights and early mornings. We were ready and in the car by 8am and on our way, takes about 40 minutes to get there.

As we were getting close Cassandra saw a sign so of course we had to stop and get pictures, have to wonder what the cars going by thought. We each took several pictures here and I really liked the way this one turned out, I actually have a cute pose. We were only about 10 minutes from the Dam here.

We got to the Hoover Dam and parked, Melissa and her wife arrived as we were getting out of the car so perfect timing. We had to wait a little as they don’t open till 9 so we looked around a little from the outside. It was also a little windy. I really think the wind is the thing I hate most about being female as it messes up my hair.

We went inside the visitor center and had to go through a security check and medal detector. Another new experience for Susan but it is just like it is at the airport so good practice for when we take our cruise this fall. We got tickets for the 10:15 tour so we had a little time to watch a short movie about the building of the Dam and go through their exhibits. Now they were really busy and so many people but I really didn’t think about how I was dressed, as a matter of fact we were all just being ourselves and not thinking about anything else, how wonderful is that. None of us even noticed if people were watching us. We actually did two tours as there is the powerhouse tour and the Dam tour, each takes about 30 minutes. Now the tour is informative and I would say if you get the chance to go you should. That being said once you have gone on it you don’t need to go again as you really don’t see anything from inside. This is a selfie of me inside the tunnel in the Dam but they do give you some history and information that is kind of fun. I think the best pictures were outside in the wind of course.

You really do get some great views from the Dam so by al means you need to go and walk the top of the Dam and look at everything. We were her a few hours as it was almost noon when we left. Now they built a new Bridge about 10 years ago to get traffic off the top of the Dam and you can walk out on the bridge and look down on the Dam, wonderful views. It is hard to find this but I have been here a couple times as my male self so I knew where it was. I told Cassandra where to turn and she was convinced it was just a parking lot which really is what it looks like. We did park and climbed the hill and walked out on the bridge and the view was spectacular. Of course, we got some wonderful pictures. This is Susan with the wind-blown look. There were lots of people here also doing the same thing we were, getting pictures and no one seemed to give us a second look.

We didn’t spend a lot of time here but the view was wonderful and worth the stop. We left here about 12:30 and we got back to our hotel right about 1 pm and had to rush to get ready as we are doing top golf at 2 and it will take aboutv30 minutes to get there but that will be the next blog. There are a few more pictures below.

Thanks for reading and be sure to see what is knew with Susan on her most recent blog and also what I did at Diva Las Vegas 2018.

Yes, it has been a great week but is coming to an end way to fast as I knew it would. I have had my beautiful long red nails now for a full week and now I am already starting to think about Tuesday when I will have to have the shortened and the red removed, it will be so sad.
