Wednesday night dinner at Hobo’s downtown

It is Wednesday and our group is going to Hobo’s downtown for dinner which is a really nice place with good food. I posted in our group to see who all was going and so far, only have 2 that said yes and 2 maybes so may be a smaller group. I got home and started getting ready as I wanted to get to Hobo’s early for 2 reasons, just to make sure someone was there in case any girls showed up early and yes also to work on my blog as once again I am behind in writing them. I got done with my make by a little after 5 and was starting to get dressed when Julie texted me to see when I planed on going. I texted her back and said I was almost ready to leave and asked if she wanted me to pick her up, not that far out of my way and way more fun to go with someone then by yourself. Now years ago, it was because I just didn’t want to be out by myself but that is not the reason today. Today going out as Susan is about 2 things, being out doing normal things every other woman does but 2 and probably most important is being out with my friends. I have made some awesome close friends that are more like family and I miss when I don’t get to see them. Julie texted me that would be great so I told her I would be there in about 30 minutes and quickly finished getting dressed and was on my way.

I got to Julies house which is pretty much all finished after her remodel and she was already to go but she did take a few minutes to show me what was new and of course we got a couple pictures in her front room. It was turning out to be a fun night. Julie and I left and drove to Downtown Portland and parked just around the corner from Hobo’s, there were actually quiet a few parking spots tonight. We got to Hobo’s and went in and got a table and now we waited to see who all would show up. The table had 4 chairs but we could probably fit 6 around it if more showed up.

Barb was the first to show up followed by Kate and then Joan so we had 5 which was just perfect as we had room at the table but everyone could talk with everyone which is always nice. We talked for a bit and had some appetizers which Julie ordered, Thank Julie. Then it was time to order dinner. The food here is really good but more of a medium price range. My two favorite things here are the Chicken Parmesan which I had last time and their Prime Rib, I went with the Prime Rib tonight although I ate more of the appetizers then I should have.

Now we talked more as we waited for our food. One thing we are working on is how to get more of our group out especially the newer members. We all know how hard that first time or two out can be as we were all there at one point. I think back to the first times I went out and how scarred I was and now it is no big deal. Most of the time when I am out I am not even thinking about how I am dressed and for the most part people don’t care, I don’t even think a lot of people even notice as they are busy with what is going on in their lives. WE also talked a little about our Mexican Cruise this fall still time to sign up if you are interested. It really is fun to be out with my friends.

Our dinners finally came and we all enjoyed our food as I said they really do have good food here. We had a wonderful evening and dinner and no one ordered desert as between the appetizers and our dinners that was more then enough. Besides I really need to get serious about watching what I eat as I do want to lose some weight by our cruise which is coming up fast now. The night went by so fast as it always does and soon it was 9:30 and time to call it a night.

As we left Julie and I walked through CC Slaughters to see what was going on. It was pretty empty but we did see Dee and her partner there. Turns out they have just moved back to the Portland area so we talked with them for a little while before leaving. Now it was time to take Julie home before going home myself. It really is nice to have Julie there as we got to talk more and things are just more fun with friends along. It was a little after 10 when I dropped Julie off and headed for home. It really was a wonderful night out.

Thanks for reading and be sure and see my most recent blog to see what is new.
